I saw Cloud 9 last night at the Panasonic.
The staff were eager to please and very friendly, chatting you as waited fro your drinks or just hung around the front ticket section.
Yes, the seating in the "orchestra section" could be better elevated, in order to maximize the view for the individual, but otherwise the theater was comfortable and intimate. -

Attended Bluemen Group and We Will Rock You in the past. The shows were great, but the theater setup wasn't accommodating. Hardly any ergonomics or design went into the theater. It really is nothing more than a tool to allow for shows and audiences. It doesn't try to be something. And I like it.
The seats can get really uncomfortable. There is barely any space to stretch your legs. And there isn't enough incline on the floor to eliminate blocked view caused by someone's head in front of you. And the seating is flat-facing towards the stage.
My friend likes to come here to catch limited run performances. Not fancy big shows like We Will Rock You. But smaller productions and hidden gems.
Underground parking is available in front of okonomiyaki place. -

For the longest time since I arrived in Toronto, the Panasonic Theatre had the Blue Man Group showing and since then it has gotten a renovation and I've caught a couple of shows here recently and it's a small scale theatre that runs the non marquee "mirvish" productions and as a result tickets are generally cheaper on average than at the Royal Alex.
The theatre is not very picturesque or grand in any way, seats are neither comfortable nor uncomfortable and seems to be closer together than I would like, but since it's a smaller theatre you get a better view from the back of the balcony where seats are very affordable.
They have a small concession stand which I have yet to really check out since both shows I saw here were intermission free but their lobby area and second floor concession area are very small and gets easily filled so I would recommend getting there early if you like to be crowd free. Washrooms kept to the overall theme here and were small as well, and not very well maintained I might add which was a little surprising.
But it's at a fantastic location with plenty of pre or post show dinning options and should deliver on most fronts to provide you with a good night out on the town.Listed in: The International April…

I recently attended the Panasonic Theatre to see "Potted Potter" - it was my first time in the theatre, and I was not super impressed.
The theatre is on the smaller side - it almost reminds me of Young People's Theatre in size. While the balcony seats are theatre style (which allows for a great view) the floor seats are just on a slight slope - which could definitely make it difficult to see. The seats are kind of slippery and uncomfortable, especially wearing stockings (I could not stay on that thing!).
While they don't have the best size or comfortable seats, their productions are still high quality. The sound is great and I still definitely enjoyed the show.
I would highly recommend the balcony seating - and definitely recommend you avoid the weird folding chairs on the sides - if my seat was uncomfortable I can't imagine sitting in those for a few hours! -

I've been here a few times for shows, and although not the most glamourous but it's in a convenient location, with tons of parking options (best bet, is at the underground parkade on Charles Street - not Manulife Centre - that's $4.25 flat rate after 6pm)
Before the show, there's tons of dining options, from the Yonge Strip, or Brownstone Bistro, or Fire on the Eastside. This time we wanted to take it up a notch, and walked over from La Societe.
The theatre is smaller, than the Canon or the like. But seems like no matter what seat you get, it will be decent without any obstructions. We got seats this time 3rd row on the balcony, and we could see and hear them perfectly, and could even make out the expression on their faces.
There are bars on two levels, but we didn't get anything from them this time - except a large glass of tap water.Listed in: NOV 2011 - 30 days Yelp…

I watched Ghost Stories last night at this theatre (not a bad show, definitely some geniune scares).
We were sitting in the LOGE seats, top balcony, at the sides. They were cheap, but they were not very good at all. The folding chairs were bolted into the ground, and you couldn't see the stage unless you sat on the edge and leaned on the railing in front of you.
Other than that, you could hear everything (actors didn't have mics) and could see everything.
I would recommend paying a little more for the better seats if you want to see a show here. -

Saw the Man In Black - Tribute to Johnny Cash show there last night. The seats are comfortable but close. It's a small theater with a rougher look to the stage and seating area which was perfect for the show we attended but I can see it being a drawback for other shows.
Offering a coat check would be really helpful, the seats are too small for a person plus their winter coat. The staff was great, very personable and friendly. -

I went to see We Will Rock You at the Panasonic Theatre last night. There are quite a few similar theatres along Yonge Street, such as Elgin Theatre and Canon Theatre - and even though if you are seeing a particular show you don't have a choice which theatre you get to go to, I think the comparison is still valid.
Panasonic theatre is definitely not as nice as Elgin or Canon, by a land slide. The stage area is rough and raw, and small. The seats in the theatre are somwhat comfortable - I say that because my butt did not hurt, but I'm not impressed with the layout of the seats. We sat in the orchestra level, near the back on the left. Though I could see, the angle of the seats weren't the greatest and if there was a tall person sitting in front of me, it would prove to be very challenging.
The armrest of our seat was broken and it looked like someone tried to remedy it by sticking a piece of chewing gum on the inside of the plastic (which kept sliding sideways). The bathrooms were cleanish, but there weren't enough. Before the show there was a line up, which multiplied threefold during the half show intermission. The lineups were so crazy long, I decided to hold in my pee until I got home!
We Will Rock You was a good show, I thoroughly enjoyed it despite not being too impressed with the theatre.
