Review from Brooke M.
Stayed here for 2 nights this summer for a trip that was for both business and fun. Vancouver is such a beautiful city (once you get past the 45 minute border crossing), and being able to stay in a top rate hotel makes it, *that* much better.
1-Star for the super friendly and fast check in, and when I asked for an upgrade (I wouldn't normally stay at a hotel this pricey when I'm paying out of my own pocket, but got a great deal on hotwire) - the front desk staff was super nice about it and gave me a water view room, even though it was the middle of summer and they were pretty full. (I've had hotel front desks be pretty snarky with the hotwire/priceline booking).
1-Star for immaculate rooms, with Aveda amenities, and an honor bar that would knock your socks off (hey when you got 50% off your room rate, the least you can do is spring for $8 cashews & $8 beers, right?)
1-Star for an awesome rooftop swimming pool & hot tub. Plus dry saunas in the pool locker rooms, an endless supply of towels, and a swim suit spinner so you don't have to drip back to your room. Plus you have a view up here of the float plan airstrip, very fun to watch.
1-Star for location. You are right on the water, next to the cruise line terminals, and right next to the ferry and train terminal, and tons of restaurants.
1-Star for friendly service all the way around, concierge, valets, housekeepers, front desk, pool attendant. There were no bad beans in the bunch.
Overall, highly recommended, and will definitely come back here if I never have the good fortune of needing a 5-star hotel in Vancouver again :) -

This is long overdue, but a review is a review.
If and when I am in Vancouver, you can bet your bottom dolla that I am staying at the Pan Pacific. The hotel is chic, in a prime location that is easily accessible, has running routes, did I already say chic?
In the land of highrises, coughing up a little extra for an incredible view of a well lit city is beyond worth it. I had been staying in the area and cannot get over all of the ammenities that came with the room. One would think they were staying the night in a friend's upscale flat, but no. It's a hotel.
The rooms are massive, the bed is comfortably perfect with an abundance of pillows, there is a scale in the washroom ( in case you and your fatty ass ate too much or too little at lunch and you needed to check). There's a personal touch to just about everything that keeps it in the typical hotel chain fashion, and yet it stands out.
I highly recommend if you are staying for more than 1 night to ask the concierge for a running route. While there, the guy wrote out multiple routes that gave the best views of the city and nearby park.
This hotel put the standard for me with Pan Pacific hotels and I've yet to see one that matches it's vibrancy. Maybe it's the ambiance of the city itself, maybe it's the excitement of feeling like high rise living even if only for a day. Either way, I'd recommend this hotel to anyone.Listed in: Oh Canada...

Nice rooms, view, location, and staff. This is a huge complex so it feels a little sterile and the parking lot is also huge. It's walking distance to a lot of restaurants and public transport to the airport. I also walked to the aquarium in Stanley park from here, though it was a little far it was a nice walk.
Not a 5 because they don't have free wifi and the gym was kinda far from the actual rooms. -

Honestly? I was expecting more from this downtown hotel.
Its location is perfect, facing the water in Canada Place (where all the big cruise ships dock, also walking distance from Gastown, Robson St). I had to pay for parking my car, which wasn't included in the hotel room. The lobby to me wasn't impressive, looked more like an office building/mall rather than a hotel. The front desk was slightly hidden as well.
The rooms weren't all that. The corridors were sort of dark and you could feel that this wasn't a new hotel. Moreover, you had to pay for internet access. In fairness, the amenities were complete (ice box, ref, overpriced snacks, safe) and the housekeeping staff were nice and polite.
What irked me the most was watching a movie from their pay per view!! First of all, it costs 13 cdn plus tax. In the States, when you purchase a (10 usd!!) movie in hotel rooms you can watch the same title countless times in a 24-hour time frame... I should've known that it would be different here in BC. I wanted to watch the movie again after 3 hours because I wasnt really paying attention at first. I called the front desk and they said I have to pay again if I wanted to watch the SAME movie.
Oh well!! Don't think I'd recommend this place to any of my visiting friends again. -

This is probably the best hotel I have ever stayed at & the best part about it was that it was that we got it for a good deal, which was $160/night. If you think it's expensive, then you probably haven't been inside the hotel yet. We only stayed here for a night, but it was probably the best night I've spent here in Canada so far. As soon as we walked in the room, we were in awe. The room was big and spacious and it had an incredible view of the city. Not the whole city unfortunately. However, I give it a 4-star because they didn't have free wifi & valet was incredibly expensive ($39). But of course, it is a nice luxurious hotel. I didn't like how the convention center was in the same building as the hotel. But overall, I had a great experience here at the hotel. Also, their breakfast buffet is AMAZING, but it was $28/person. I'd still say it was worth it because I have a great relationship with food & it always wins my heart no matter how expensive it can get.

I haven't had a chance to write a review for my stay at the Pan Pacific. (Stayed here in August for our wedding anniversary)
Check in was quick and the front desk person was very friendly. We also received a little chocolate gift in the room which was a thoughtful touch. The room and washroom were clean and tidy. The room looked a little dated compared to the newer/trendier hotels, but not a big deal.
The view was the best part. At night or in the morning...it was so beautiful! The lights, moutains, water, buildings, float-planes and boats was breath-taking. If you stay in a hotel in Vancouver, you should definitely stay here.
We then went to Spa Utopia and had relaxing massages. My favorite spa in Vancouver. Gorgeous setting, wonderful facilities and amazing service.
After the spa and dinner, we decided to use their rooftop pool. Love it! It was a warm night and it was very romantic to swim and use the hot tub under the stars. There were plenty of towels out for guests to use and the whole pool area was very clean.
We had brunch the next day at Cafe Pacifica and it will always be my favorite brunch. They definitely have the best brunch buffet in Vancouver. A little pricey, but absolutely worth it. -

This review is for their Opera Buffet.
My guest and I were stunned at the presentation, live opera, fabulous view and that they could deliver an outstanding, top notch buffet where every item was great. Great service too!
Tea, coffee, and pop are complimentary. Coffee goes well with all their tasty desserts.
I will definitely return here we had a fabulous time.
The only thing I wish was that I could eat like I use to when I was younger but they would probably kick me out. -

I was there for an Orthodontic Confrence. An amazing place for a confrence! We were there for 3 nights. I have to say, it was the best sleep I have had in years! They have amazing confortable beds, with the most luxurious linens I have ever slept on. The rooms were clean, and the views were amazing! The staff was always pleasant. I have no complaints about this beautiful hotel, and feel blessed to have been able to have such wonderful employers to treat us to such a treat! I hope to one day return! Treat yourself to an amazing stay, in a beautiful city, with amazing views. I didn't realize til later, that the intire propery resembles a large cruise ship! And a nice plus, you get to see the Olympic tourch right there next to the hotel! And it's just a short walk to the Gas Town, nice restaurants, Stanly Park, ( take the bike ride around) it's amazing.

Review from Jay O.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights last week, and he paid full price ($350 per night).
The good was really good, but the bad was horrible.
Good:
- Best bathrobes ever. I ended up buying one for $80. Totally worth it. I've been wearing it every night since.
- Delicious full breakfast that was included in the price of our room (when we woke up early enough for it).
- Beautiful harbor view.
Bad:
- They reserved $600 of credit on my boyfriend's credit card, but refused to let us deduct charges to the room from this line of credit. As a true corporation, they made us instead pay cash upfront, each and every time we would order room service, instead of deducting it from the $600 credit they had already reserved. This was very offensive to my boyfriend, and I've experienced better service from hotels half the price that we were paying for this one.
- When we checked out, we were made to wait 30 minutes while housekeeping checked that we didn't take anything from the minibar. Like the above point, this made us feel like we were being treated as criminals by this corporation. It makes me wonder how they treat the guests that don't pay full price for their rooms.
- Room service for 6 chicken strips with honey mustard dressing was $40 ("tax" was 17% and they added gratuity and a "service fee"). 6 chicken strips should never be that expensive unless they are encrusted in gold. The menu price of the chicken strips was around $17. So there was $23 extra of tax, gratuity, and service. As mentioned above, they made us pay for this in cash upfront instead of charging to the room.
- We overslept one day and missed the free full breakfast. We ordered two breakfast dishes for room service, which cost $100 for two people. Very expensive, and a lot of it went to tax, gratuity, and service.
- After we checked out, we wanted to store our bags until the afternoon, but the concierge desk was empty and we had to wait around 20 minutes for the concierge to come back (following the 30 minutes it took to check us out).
As someone staying in a 5-star hotel for 5-star prices, I admit that the amenities were worth 5-stars but the service is worth 2-stars. This was the only hotel in Vancouver with direct full harbor views, which is why we chose it. I've experienced better service at Holiday Inn. Anytime I'm staying in a room that costs more than $300 a night, I expect service to be impeccable. -
Review from Lynn S.
My wife and I stayed here for a anniversary weekend get away from Seattle and it was perfect. The location is perfect access to the Sky Train Waterfront station, and an easy walk to Gastown neighbourhood or about 20-minute walk along the water front to Stanly Park. Canada Place is also the main cruise terminal, so it's great access if you're taking a cruise as well.
The room we stayed in was a King with inner harbour view. The bed was perfect and the TV was huge for a hotel, with a great on-demand movie selection. The bathroom was very spacious with Aveda bath products.
The 8th floor has a pool and hot tub on a roof top terrace and it was very pleasant to sit out on a crisp night in the hot tub and heated salt water pool.
I would gladly stay here again anytime, but next time I would probably splurge on the Stanly Park view. -

In my other life, the one that works more than she plays, I plan, coordinate and execute events. I've worked with many venues and the best one's work to make my life easier - The Events Services Department at the Pan Pacific Hotel receives much praise from me, they are on the ball - the best of the best in the hotel industry are one-step ahead of their clients with capacity to anticipate what the client wants and then provide it before they even ask - my Event Services Manager for the Crystal Ballroom had sample floor plans, event orders, menu suggestions, every "i" dotted and "t" crossed on every exchange we had. I can't explain how big a relief it is... like a dead weight off the shoulder... when I can fully trust a venue not only to perform but maximize my performance when I'm one person planning a 400 people shin-dig with sponsors, corporate representatives, guests of influence in the mix.
Maybe it was just my Service Manager who was so dead-on awesome but if they train all their Event Service Managers like mine, the Pan Pacific Hotel is the go-to place for a banquet, gala, and why not weddings... -

Good location. Spacious room. No in room wifi which seems prehistoric.
Great rate through hot-wire but beware no benefits of guest program offered if you book that rate.
Parking paid through hotel a better deal than public rate: for $4 more you have in and out privileges.
Great breakfast buffet. Kids 4 and under free, older are half price.
Connection to food court also handy.
Great deal on Hotwire too! -
Review from Patrick S.
Just spent two days at the Pan Pacific Vancouver as our final northern destination on our Pacific North West driving tour form LA/OC CA. This was an excellent trip of over 1400 Mile each way and the Pan Pacific Vancouver was one of the highlights.
This is a great hotel in the heart of down town Vancouver. Alot of shopping a great place for dinner and drinks and nightlife. It is right next to Canada Place and the port where all the cruse ships come in.
We got a great package off of travelocity that included breakfast buffet for both days, and passage to Victoria island via BC Ferries.
The suite was one of the best I have stayed in and had a perfect view of Vancouver harbour. The room was very stylish and comfortable.
The Ferrie to Victoria was a blast and between one of the numerous islands on the way we seen a Bald Eagle fly right over us on the 4th of July! That's not a bad Independence day if you out of the US.
This was my 7th trip to Vancouver and It's always great to see part of my heritage. When we come back we will definitely stay at the Pan Pacific again. -
Review from Neil K.
Pan Pacific Vancouver is exactly what you'd expect for a large multinational "luxury" hotel, and nothing more. Pan Pacific Vancouver is located in the heart of the town right on the waterfront. It serves as a boarding station for the numerous cruise ships that dock around it, as well as a convention and exhibition hall (although, a huge brand new one is being built next door). In addition, it houses an imax theater in its premises.
We had two rooms in this hotel - one on the city side and one on the harbor side. The rooms were decent sized and had all of the regular features you'd expect - including a mini bar, lcd tv's, internet connections (ethernet and wifi, $14.99 a day), cotton robes. The bathrooms were also stocked with high quality Aveda products. The fact that its owned and run by a faceless corporation is evident everywhere in the room - there are little signs on everything in the room telling you how much they will charge you if you take them out of the room.
The hotel has a nice heated swimming pool and hot tub that are opened until midnight (after 10 pm, its adults only!). If you get stuck here for a convention or something, its not so bad. But if you're visiting Vancouver for pleasure, you might want to seek a hotel thats more personal. -
Review from Kira T.
If you're on hotwire and you're looking at a 5-star hotel in the downtown west side, it's a sure bet that you're going to be staying at the Pan Pacific. We were here last weekend for $120 a night, and have gotten in here for as low as $100. It's worth it.
This is a lovely property, with all the swanky amenities that you're thinking it will have - restaurant, spa, pool. We've had a view out over the water the last couple of times we've stayed here, and MAN, is that nice! Kick back and watch the cruise ships put out to sea, check out who's swimming, watch the sun set over the mountains... heavenly.
My only quibble - and the reason for 4, rather than 5 stars - is that it's a big hotel by a major conference center, and therefore has no "quirky charm factor." Full disclaimer: I am a Quirky Charm Lover. So sometimes, when a place is really, really nice - it's a bit TOO nice for me. This hotel is like that. (See Neil K.'s review. Nail on head, Neil!)
In other words, I bet you'll give it FIVE stars. -

Review for food and catering only.
Came here for a grad dinner last night (LOL, not my own although I'm happy to hear that I still look like a student!)
Gorgeous venue - UBC booked out a few of the oceanview rooms on the R floor which had an AMAZING view. I don't know if I'm directionally challenged, but I find the hotel a bit hard to navigate when I'm here because of the multi-levels and elevators at strange spots.
Parking underground is a reasonable $8 for an evening if you self park.
The food here is top notch. I'm not one for buffets, but the food quality here is excellent. Service is polished but reserved. Great mix of salad, sushi (with wild salmon too!), sablefish, veggies, roast beef and an amazing dessert and cheese selection.
Definitely pricey for a buffet dinner but it's a nice place to have a celebration and I can totally see why there was about 4 different parties going on last night! -

Can I move in? Please, please, pretty please? I promise I will be good!
When I was told that we would be staying at the cruise ship terminal, I was expecting a run down, nightmare hotel. When I walked into my room, I almost fell over. I somehow ended up with a premier corner room with a wall full of windows that overlook the harbor and mountains. OMG, I was in LOVE! I swear, I could sit and watch the float planes take off and land all day long. In fact, I'm sitting in my nice chaise lounge looking out the window as I type. I'm in heaven.
Oh, and I'm also lounging in the most comfortable robe of all time, with a great big smile on my face because I left for a cruise and the hotel honored my request for the same room type on the way back. I swear, I could live here. Add all of this to a helpful and friendly staff, great location, fabulous pool deck, very reasonable room rates, and Aveda bath products and you've got a winner.
I know I probably can't move in (I'm sure security would remove me), but I guess I have something to look forward to the next time I'm in Vancouver. If you stay here, definitely make sure you get this room, even if it costs a few extra bucks.Listed in: Escape from the Boat!

For our one night here I kept hoping for a lightning storm to crack the sky over the North Shore Mountains.
The views from the waterside rooms are stunning: it feels pretty close to sleeping under the stars in its immensity. We enjoyed the roof-top hot tub although it was a little too chilly in March to venture into the pool. The room was clean, and the bathroom products a delicate mint-rosemary combination. So good, I wrote down (then promptly lost) where they were made.
Didn't see much of the staff, although the buffet breakfast was really terrible the next day. Despite an eye-devouring variety of morning treats, the eggs tasted floury and the pastries none too fresh. Definitely stay here, but head elsewhere for breakfast rather than the over-priced and lack-luster buffet.Listed in: I could never afford it…

Wow! One of the best hotels in the city and I got it for 104 bucks a night on hotwire. Not only that but when I checked in I somehow ended up in a corner room on the 17th floor with an amazing view. Thanks for the upgrade Pan Pacific!
The pool and jacuzzi weren't working, which was a big bummer, but what can you do...we went across the street and used the Fairmonts. Amazing views, great rooms, and I loved the window in my shower. You can take a bath and stare at the mountains! -
Review from Kaushick N.
The Good: Curteous front desk staff. Upgraded us to full view room ( we had booked partial view) and let us do a late checkout at 2PM. Awesome shower. Great water pressure. Very well remodelled room.
The Bad: No wireless internet.
and The Ugly: Thin walls. Some jackasses kept us up from 3AM!! on the first night. We stayed 2 nights and it was fine otherwise.
BottomLine: I wouldnt stay here if you are here on a Business Trip. It's a great location if you are on vacation. Downtown but super close to Gastown and also if you on a cruise.
P.S: We only got upgraded cause the internet in the room wasnt working and we asked for it. -

My boyfriend and I drove up to Vancouver this past long weekend to celebrate his birthday. I was excited to have gotten a great deal on the Pan pacific thru http://Hotels.com, roughly 120/nt..
The lobby isn't attractive, kind of cold atmosphere because they are in such a big convention center but the staff working the front were fine. I had requested a room above the 8th floor after reading other reviews here. They placed us on the 19th floor with an amazing view of the city and the harbour! My boyfriend and I were quite pleased!
Besides the score of a great room with a view, we also loved the decor, the bed, the robes!!. and the Aveda products.
We really did not care for the parking costs, we ended up paying 60 bucks for 2 nts,....the thin wall to our left, we could hear walking noise all night long.... and no free http://wifi.it would be nice if they treated the guests a bit more special with amenities like discounted parking or free wifi. All in all, our room was nice so we were able to enjoy our stay. -
Review from Dani B.
The best part about this place is the amazing water front view. The mountains as the backdrop are also breathtaking.
I've never stayed here but I have been here for many law conferences. Overall, the service is great, the food delicious and the actual venue is nice as well. This place is really big though and connects to the Convention centre so be careful, i've gotten lost a couple times. -
Review from Shannon R.
We would never stay anywhere else in Vancouver. The Pan Pacific has everything. Not only is it beautiful and emmaculate in every detail, it is such a great location. Walking distance from Stanley Park (although it is quite a bit of walking) and kind of in the center of everything. The workout room has a personal trainer stationed to help travelors stay fit, the actual rooms are small but have breath-taking views, a world-class spa, a rooftop pool, and there are Italian opera singers at dinner. The executive club lounge has great perks as well. Love, love, love you Pan Pacific! Rain or shine, you're perfect.

North Vancouver, BC
So sad. I booked here based on my experiences at the Pan Pacific hotels in Singapore and Seattle - both are elegant & well-appointed, with super-friendly staff. The PP Vancouver could have been a Hyatt or a Hilton - there was nothing, um, special about it. The room was clean but generic. The staff - at least everyone I encountered, from valet to doorman (who was on the phone and ignored us) to front desk - were cold and impersonal, and made no attempt to offer assistance with bags, directions, etc. No "how was your stay" when I checked out, either.
Granted, this hotel is at the convention center and the cruise ship dock - so maybe they are used to getting business without having to back it up with good service.
Bummer. -
Review from Laura P.
Like other yelpers, we ended up here due to a good deal on hotwire. Secretly I was hoping for the Westin at Coal Harbour but I kind of knew better since the Pan Pacific seems to have more rooms. It worked out in the end, since the room we had was bigger, as was our bathroom (complete with Aveda products).
Not to be a hater but there are reasons why I won't give this "5-star" hotel 5 yelp stars:
- The aforementioned bathroom is severely dated. The shower reminded me of a hotel that I stayed at in Singapore. . . 16 years ago. Seriously, the wall paper was starting to fray.
- The lobby is huge and impersonal, but that's what you get for being so close to a convention center.
- Parking is a whopping $30 a day.
- There is no modern security. Typically elevators require key cards to get to guest rooms. Our local friend came up to our room with no issues whatsoever. Hello, security for the Olympics 2010!?
- The walls were pretty thin. We could hear our next door neighbor every time he sneezed. Come to think of it, hubby is now sick so I wonder about air quality. . .
Lest you think that all I can do is bash the Pan Pacific, here are some pros:
- The valet service is super quick and the guys are friendly and helpful.
- The lobby has tons of cool eye candy- at least for our one year old. She loved, loved, loved the totem poles, the representation of the Pacific Ocean complete with a water sculpture, and the huge potted plants.
- Great views
- Supposedly one of the best breakfast buffets in Vancouver. We had unlimited fresh squeezed organic apple juice and I stuffed myself silly on the mango smoothies, fresh fruit, not to mention the awesome buttery, garlicky mushrooms. Kids under 5 were free with parent's buffet so the little one had a fine time with dried apricots in syrup, prunes, scrambled eggs, mini-bagels, cantaloupe, and purple potatoes.
- Service is stellar. We wanted to eat some dragon fruit that we bought in the market and they gladly sliced it up for us.
We'd stay here again, but only if we can snag a great rate again as there are other areas of Vancouver that we need to explore during the upcoming Olympics. -
Review from Rachel s.
A little impersonal as any bustlin' pre-olympic hot spot in Vancouver may be these days.. But on a number of fronts, stay here of the weekend was special..
Top Five Perks:
1) Lunch break: yoga in isolated sauna followed by brisk swim in rooftop pool; lovin' tribute to a 40 degree drizzlin' day
2) Vast city view from 9th floor room
3) Vast water & mtn view from fitness center
4) Starbucks downstairs (one can never have tea too close.. unfortunately its bad tea, but theanine @ any price)
5) Just off the new Canada line, so excursion 'round the city is easy n proximate..
Have i mentioned that i must've been Canadian in a former life? No, i'm not schizoprenic but on some scale, its familiar in all the right ways. Rainy and dark November is ideal for a brief visit. Bright days render it nearly impossible to depart without kickin' n screamin... and soliciting husband applications from taxi drivers ;) -
Review from David O.
There is just something about the Pan Pacific in Vancouver. The common areas seem to be influenced by a cruise ship, the rooms are very well appointed, the restaurants are excellent, and the location is very good. All of the individual pieces are "above average," and yet coupled with world class service it becomes one of the best properties in Vancouver.
The Opera Italian Buffet tends to be booked out weeks in advance, but is overwhelming in its choices, preparation, and singing that resonates through the large open lobby. The breakfast provided in the top floor private club was equally good.
But every time I've stayed at the Pan Pacific I've found there is just something incredibly relaxing about the property. Is it the views of the mountains and the Lion's Gate bridge? Is it the whisper quiet rooms with fuzzy white bathrobes and every amenity you could ask for? Is it the perfectly comfortable beds? Is it a staff that will respond to every request with grace and a smile? Or is it all of it???
You can pay more for a hotel room in Vancouver, and you can certainly pay for less, but if you're looking for a relaxing base of operations where you could spend a lazy Sunday morning eating room service breakfast before wandering down to Stanley Park? There is no other choice.
Oh, if you stay on the top floor in one of the suites, breakfast, internet, and hor de vours are included. -
Review from Annie S.
The hotel is in a great location...right in the heart of all action and beauty. You can get a room with an amazing view of the harbor and mountains, or a view of the city itself. The service is wonderful too.
The layout of the hotel is somewhat confusion. They have different floors for different restaurants, amenities, etc. It took me a while to figure it out. They are also connected to the food court downstairs. So if you don't want to pay a lot for food in the hotel, you can go to the McDonald's, Subway, or any other fast food right down stairs.
My room was very spacious. A lot of walking space. Nice beauty products in the bathroom - Avita brand!
Love Vancouver! -
Review from Matthew N.
I have to say that I'm very surprised by the majority of the reviews here. I'm not used to staying in 5-star hotels but had to stay here recently for a medical conference and while I normally wouldn't be able to afford a room in a place like this, I am definitely looking to stay here again the next time I'm in Vancouver.
The rooms were quite spacious - and we didn't have anything like a suite or upgraded room, either. We found the room condition to be exceptional and the amenities were first rate. The room temperature controls were very effective - both cooling and heating - and whenever we wanted to take advantage of the cold external air we opened the small awning vents and voila: instant air conditioning.
The hotel staff - from the bellmen to the housekeepers, the room service to the concierge - were all incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional.
The proximity to downtown, the convention center, skytrain stations, and restaurants is fantastic. Room service was great and the prices were reasonable. For those who don't want to eat in their room there are three hotel restaurants and a complete food court mere minutes away.
Despite the price per room, we will definitely be back to the Pan Pacific the next time we're in Vancouver. -
Review from Matt V.
For the price I paid for this place it was great.
Not gonna nit pick like a lot of people do on here, but I will say the room felt like we were on board a cruise ship...a large cruise ship. Amenities were nice and the location was phenomenal. -
Review from Anita T.
Toronto, ON
Gorgeous hotel! And the staff lives up to the Pan Pacific name! I attended a conference here, and was not disappointed by the hospitality at all. Anything you needed - and they were there. Not to mention, the banquet rooms are quite large at the hotel. (Plus the food they serve at the banquets is quite delicious - especially the lasagna!!)
This hotel is also fairly busy since its located right at Canada Place where almost all the cruise ships dock and where tourist activity is at its peak. There is so much to do in the area, that it makes this hotel a central point.
If you get a room with the water and mountain view, you are set! It's absolutely gorgeous... and the rooms are a good size too! The only this is that the swimming pool is outside. Being rainy Vancouver as this is, it is smartest to have the swimming pool in side so it can be enjoyed all year round, not just in the 1 month of summer that we get!! -

A true benefit of being in the Travel industry is the excellent perks. Staying here was one of those perks. I suppose you could call it "business", since it's part of your job to know the products you sell.
A true benefit of being on good terms with the Sales manager is getting booked into a Luxury Suite. A massively sized suite. You might even say it was a sweet suite. A suite with a jacuzzi and a flat screen TV...in the bathroom. In the bathroom with Bulgari toiletries. The same bathroom I intentionally walked around barefoot in to feel what Italian marble floors feel like on my feet. Felt pretty good. All of it.
The service was impeccable. We were welcomed into our room with a spread of fruit and chocolate dipped strawberries and a bottle of red and some fancy bottles of water.
We had access to the Executive Club Lounge. They allow you one complimentary alcoholic beverage and anything more is from the Honor Bar. We made sure to take advantage of the evening hors d'oeuvres and continental breakfast.
We also took full advantage of the free espresso and tea and views.
The bed was huge, the linens were beautiful and soft and of a high thread count.
There was another flat big screen TV in the main room. We watched some funny Canadian shows.
We were able to turn the lights off by hitting a button next to the bed. We could close the curtains by hitting a button next to the bed. There were a lot of nifty buttons that did nifty things in our sweet suite.
Granted, our experience was not like what it may be for others, but it was enough of an excellent experience that I would be giddy to recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Vancouver.Listed in: Need a place to rest your…

I love Vancouver and I love this Hotel, wonderful vistas, clean, modern, and splendid. I was upgraded for free to one of the Bay View rooms with sweeping views. My room was more of a suite than a room with sofa, desk, large bed. Everything was great and this place always makes my stay in Vancouver wonderful. Check in and check out are a breeze, nice views.

The room was very small and the heat was turned up very high without a thermostat adjustment unit and the windows do not open and it was horribly suffocating.
From the exterior it is supposed to look as if it is a sailboat by the waters, but it is located too far from the better lit areas of Vancouver and too close to the dicey (especially at night) Gaslight area, with some scarry methadone using homeless.
Had to change to a DIFFERENT hotel for the next two nights. -

My boyfriend and I got a pretty reasonable rate here for the weekend that we stayed here (it is one of the priciest in the city only after Shangrila and Fairmont). The location is especially great if you're boarding the cruise ships but not so much if you're trying to soak up the downtown atmosphere. I thought the rooms were very luxurious and it was really beautiful to overlook the harbor during our stay! Also, Five Sails restaurant is one of the best up-scale restaurants in the city! The hotel is also not far from a nearby Tim Hortons! :)

This was my first 5 star hotel experience. I got a good deal on http://hotwire.com when I booked the same day. The room was very small and had really no view, although it doesn't help that I was in Vancouver over a weekend of constant, heavy rain in November. The worst part of my stay were the loud, obnoxious people next door who kept me awake from midnight to 5 AM. I know they can't control this, but I didn't expect this kind of patron at a nice hotel. I called security and they answered within 15 minutes, but when I checked out, I told them of my experience and all they offered was to upgrade my stay at the next visit. Problem: I can't afford this hotel in general, and probably won't travel back to Vancouver any time soon.

$110 through Hotwire is not bad at all. Everyone at the front desk seemed to have a perma-smile going on and treated me well.
My room on the 18th floor had a very nice view and the bed was amazing. They have the usual luxury amenities -- the fuzzy bathrobes, overpriced minibar (I was scared that they would have sensors on the bottles to know when I picked them up, even if I didn't drink them), a big-ass TV, and a bunch of shiny things behind windows in the lobby.
Oh, and $30/night parking (at least my car had two nice neighbors -- Mr. Wall and Mr. Parking Spot Occupied By Pole, so it was in a nice ding-free zone) as well as $15/night internet. That sucked. But everything else was great. I'd stay here again for sure. -

If you are on the cruise ships that dock here, It's my belief you will be excited due the location and with the breakfast buffet that's fine, been hesitating on this review but I have to agree that the Hotel may at one time been hot but it is in dire need of upgrades, the bathroom is tiny with a substand tub for the rating, the view is fabulous but they don't tell you there is an airport on the water and the planes are landing and taking off all day. I wish the accomodations were more modern withn the amenities places I've stayed at provide, the bar staff and wait staff were excellent but for the price you would be better off at a boutique hotel- in fairness I was told the 23rd floor is updated but it's pricey as it is and the extra 100 for upstairs just does not make sense-going to vancouver again soon so I'll try another place and review this place perhaps I'll stay on the 23rd floor- perhaps not-and they charge for wi-fi who does that anymore?
