Review from Renee W.
Wichita Falls, TX
Even though my sister lives within walking distance to this hotel, I choose to stay at the Palomar Dallas because I always feel like I am coming home. I have stayed at this hotel many times over the past years, and I swear that each time I am there I think, "It cannot get any better", but it does. This is in large part to the staff who always is professional, kind, generous of spirit, and thoughtful. With so many high-end hotels within a short distance to this one, I suppose that the competition is tough, but you cannot beat the comfort of knowing that you really are important and special when you walk through the door of the Palomar Dallas.

My second time at the Palomar. This is a great hotel. Would be 5 stars if the staff were more qualified.

Brooklyn, NY
I've stayed here A LOT in the last 6 months. I live in New York but travel to Dallas for work regularly and always stay at the Palomar. The valets are awesome, there's a man in a hat who looks like he belongs on a beach in Cuba. Don't ask me why, this is the impression that I get. Everytime.
The hotel restaurant (Central 214) is a tad bit overpriced (you pay for coffee refills!) but I don't care because it all goes on an expense report! The bar makes an awesome mojito.
The rooms themselves are clean, and well kept. If you're a Kimpton member you get a $10 credit to "Raid the mini-bar!" at every visit. Definitely a nice touch for someone who stays there so often.
They also have complimentary items that other hotels miss, like hair straighteners and toothbrushes. BIG PLUS.
They also have free wine everyday from 5-6. I'm surprised the lobby doesn't get massively crowded with randoms looking for free wine. -
Review from Joyce H.
I think the Palomar is a very nice place to stay in Dallas. It's got a great look. It's modern and classy. The bar area is a nice place to hang out at in the evening with friends.
The staff is very nice and always very helpful. The suites are very nice and so are the regular rooms. I feel like the rooms are always very clean.
I find the mini bar slightly questionable at times because two of the four times I have stayed there, there has been an expired item. One of them was an orange juice that I drank half of. Eeew.
The valet service is usually really great. They are always very quick about getting to the car and helping you with your bags. -

This was our first stay at this particular Kimpton property and we can't wait to go back. We were celebrating my birthday and EVERYONE at the hotel wished me happy birthday and the concierge, Eloy, sent me special cookies and fruit to our room. From the moment we drove up we felt welcome and special - the valets were incredibly attentive, the front desk staff always said hello, and the manager greeted us. We were greeted by name all weekend...I could go on and on. It is modern feeling, open and airy lobby, and yet you know you're in Dallas with the little touches like the boots in the reception area. Our room was modern and very clean. We met the most interesting people - the hotel seems to draw a fun, interesting, upscale crowd. Being so close to SMU we met a lot of people at the wine receptions who were there to see their kids or who live in the residences part time because their kids are at the university and that was fun. The wine reception at night was always enjoyable and, as always with Kimpton hotels, we love that dogs are welcome. We like the neighborhood/location - walking distance to some restaurants and shops and a short drive to many other great spots for both shopping, spa (although next time I will try Exhale right there at the hotel), and dining. We truly had a wonderful stay and look forward to our next visit.

Great hotel. Spacious and modern luxury with great service.
It's a bit far away from where we wanted to be in a bit more action area, but to relax after work the pool is excellent and the adjacent spa is a plus! -

Hotel Palomar - Dallas...Kudos! Kudos! Kudos!
Friendly and attentive valet at a reasonable price. You can't get parking for $20 in San Francisco at a meter after 8 p.m. on a Sunday night, much less Valet parking with a quick response time. If any of you fellas need a job, we could use some speedy valets in SF!!! It's much cooler...I just hope you like hills :)
The door/bell staff are quick to the car door, front door and with bell cart. The Front Office staff is efficient and friendly even with the somewhat complicated reservations of a large group.
The Pool staff...ROCKIN'!!! There's no doubt about it with Karen Pond on deck the drinks are flowing and the guests are having fun! Thank's y'all. I got more rest in 2 days by that pool than I'd had in months. Nicely done.
Central 214...we may have popped in unexpected, had a few people too sun kissed (or hung over) to eat and we had joiners (even after I assured you we would not) and you took it all in stride without missing a beat. The food was creative, upscale Southern with some surprises served by professionals. In a time where service standards have bottomed out in some places because the staff are tired of this stupid economy, cheap guests and even cheaper Chefs...Central 214 is the way service, food and wine should be...all the way around.
Thank you Palomar for making our weekend memorable as well as enjoyable!! Cheers! -

Nothing at all wrong with this hotel and a lot right about it, but what is remarkable about this hotel is the valet staff. These guys should teach other valets how to handle their business. Friendly and fast. Don't mean to damn the hotel with faint praise. It's lovely, comfortable, stylish and perfectly located for lots of good stuff. But I drove home today thinking about the valets.

I stayed here twice last week. I still love it. Free valet for hybrids is a great perk, and I also appreciated the $10 "raid the minibar" credit, which I got as a result of my Kimpton membership.
Oscar, my dog, accompanied me on one trip. His name was on the chalkboard welcoming pets. And when we got to the room, they had prepared a pet bed and pet bowls for him. The food bowl even held a little container of food, and the water bowl had a little bottle of Ozarka. Oscar approved.
Top notch hospitality plus amazing amenitites make this the best hotel in the area, as far as I'm concerned. It's pricier than some neighboring properties, so I can't stay here every time; however, if I watch the specials, I can find some good deals. My most recent rate was $119, which seemed really cheap for such a great property.Listed in: Placed I've Slept in Texas, Dallas Dog

I have not stayed anywhere else in Dallas, so I am unable to compare to other hotels apples to apples. Yet I thought that Palomar was quite good. The room I got had plenty of space and a nice flat-screen TV, and it felt very modern and well-kept. The concierge was extremely nice and helpful, as well as the rest of staff I encountered.
Another couple of things I really liked:
- every day, 5-6PM, there's a wine social hour (highly recommend!)
- both gym and pool are very nice
- the robes are fun!
- you can get spa treatments in your room
A bit about what I did not quite like:
- my room was close to the elevator, which was screeching and making quite some noise
- it was really cold in the room when I got in. I actually had to turn on the heat
- the hotel restaurant was so-so (though I have to be fair: I am rather hard to impress with any kind of American cuisine)
Overall, a great place to stay while in Dallas. Highly recommend.Comment from Andrea M. of Palomar 1/4/2011

The Hotel is beautiful and the staff is great.
It's a very nice hotel but it's kind of noisy.
You can hear all the noise from 75 and Mockingbird from your room.
The decor in the rooms is pretty cool and modern, the pool is pretty and the restaurant is very nice but it does happen to be a little loud inside the rooms.
I got a room for $200 on http://hotels.com, maybe they just gave me a crappy room since getting a reservation directly with the hotel was like $350 for the cheapest one.Comment from Andrea M. of Palomar 1/4/2011

"Would you like me to pour you a glass of peach sangria?"
Yes, yes I would.
Who doesn't love "wine hour?" 5pm-6pm. A lovely little kick-off to an evening out, or a surefire way to put yourself on ice after a blistering day. Well done, Kimpy Kimpton. Well done. Oh wait, is that a Wii? Indeed. A Wii with wine hour? Dangerous...plus, I'd look a fool sober attempting it, so definitely not with a few of the aforementioned pours down the hatch. Maybe another day ;)
Room was clean, spacious, and the bed fluffy and vast. I slept for 10 hours, alternating between "curled up" and "starfished out." Heaven. Quiet, comfortable...that's about all I ask for in a hotel. And, shoes...but that's a different review. Actually, nevermind...I don't even require my shoes be all that comfortable, just cute. Ok, I'm off track.
Another glass of wine?
Well, fine...since you asked ;)

Hey thanks Dallas, what fine lines you have here! The Hotel Palomar was my home base these past few days, and I have to say, I absolutely loved the place. From the moment I walked in the door to the accoutrements of my room to the snappy service throughout, this place was the perfect launch pad for a couple of days of productive Dallas fun.
Give this to the Kimpton folks: when they set their mind to modernizing a property, they don't go about it halfway. The mood's set pretty much upon entry, and unlike some other upscale hotels, I never got the impression that the staff was anything other than accessible and concerned with making me feel welcome. And at the end of the day, isn't being comfortable what a relaxing stay is all about?Listed in: Hotels, Dallas, Dallas Hotels

Review from Megan M.
Let's say you have a girlfriend coming into town for a girl's weekend, but you can't stay at your house because that leaves you with the husbands. What do you do? You check into a hotel, of course. But not just any hotel. Hotel Palomar.
From the second I pulled into Hotel Palomar, I was treated like a princess. I was a little vexed at the $20/day valet at first, but it worked out very well. Especially since the self-park is across the street at Mockingbird station and having run that gauntlet once, I'm very glad I chose the valet. The valet guys and gals were always friendly and had my car to me - with the air conditioning already running - within minutes of requesting my car, each and every time. They also didn't judge me for my POS car or the fact that I checked in with a gym bag, a guitar and a cooler full of beer. Yes, folks. I bring the white trash with me.
The best thing about Hotel Palomar is the location. I wanted something very close to all our favorite bars so we would be able to take cabs all weekend. This worked out perfectly. Not only were we never more than a $10 cab ride away from our room, we were able to come back to our room whenever we wanted and then go back out again. Hotel Palomar is in the heart of party central.
The front desk staff was always friendly and welcoming, even giving us sly grins as they welcomed us back at the crack of dawn both mornings. I had to call guest services twice - once for a wine bottle opener and another time for towels, TP and trash bags...don't judge - and both times my items arrived within minutes.
The room itself was beautiful. The décor is very modern and much more thought was put into these decorations than your average hotel room. The ginormous flat screen HD TV was a nice touch, even though we spent very little time watching it.
The beds are absolutely the most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept on and the feather pillows made our sleepy time pure heaven. I'm sure that had nothing to do with copious amounts of alcohol. Really.
As anyone who's spent any time in hotels knows, the shower is usually where hotel rooms fall flat. Not this one. The water pressure, even on the 7th floor, was very strong and the hot water was HOT. No tepid, barely spitting shower here.
I really struggled to find something negative about Hotel Palomar. I could only come up with two things. We didn't have a coffee maker in the room and the bathroom lighting was a bit too dark for proper makeup application. That's it, folks. Everything else was perfect.
I even had a $20 charge for the honor bar (that we didn't use) on my credit card and when I called to clear it up, the charge was immediately removed.
Oh, and they have a wine reception in the lobby every day from 5-6pm. Classy.
If you're looking for the perfect poshy getaway, whether you're travelling 7 or 700 miles, Hotel Palomar should be your choice.Listed in: Like a Rolling Stone

Dear Hotel Palomar,
You are better than a home away from home... you are my new fave place to stay when I travel. I recently stayed with you for one night when I came to Dallas for a Yelp event, and I kind of wished that I could stay longer!
From the second I walked in the front door, I felt like I was VIP. Your doormen were super friendly and so were the people at the front desk. I checked in and they addressed me by name not only the night I checked in but the next day as well... pretty impressive!
I also loved the following fantastic facts about you, Hotel Palomar:
* Your signature Kimpton brand robes in the rooms
* Your workout room and the fact that you are connected to Exhale Spa - (I actually squeezed in a core fusion class during my 24 hour stay!)
* The fact that you are dog friendly; wish Minnie could've come with me!
* Organic coffee served in the morning for hotel guests
* Free wi-fi
* Lots of extra special touches such as a water bottle in the room with no additional charge, really comfy bedding, and fantastic shower with hot water and great pressure!
The other bonus that made me feel good during my stay? I had a guy in the lobby (another guest) use a cheesy pick-up line on me:
Man: "Excuse me, ma'am - are you from Tennessee?"
Me: "No, (smiling as I know something funny is coming next), why?"
Man: "Because you're the only ten i see!"
hahaha - cheesy, but made me feel good!
Can't wait to come back to Dallas and stay with you again soon!
Love,
Gabi -

You can never go wrong with Kimpton Hotels. Become a member, and get amazing perks that make you feel like a VIP - even though membership is free and available for everyone.
What kind of deals? Say, online deals like the one I got (25% off my 2-night stay), a $10 gift card to the minibar (Champagne please!), $20 off any $50 or more purchase at Exhale Spa, and personalize your reservation to fit your needs (request feathered or memory foam pillows, higher or lower level rooms, near or away from elevators and exits).
All Kimpton Hotels are also dog friendly (NO pet cleaning fee or deposit), dependable free Wi-Fi, complimentary wine and Wii happy hour in the lobby, complimentary organic teas and coffee in the morning, well-stocked mini bar (not just drinks--you've got gummy bears, yoga DVDs, and intimacy kits). Sa-weet.
This particular location is one of my favorites so far. It's right off the freeway near lots of great restos and bars, lobby is gorgeous, courteous staff, swanky pool, large rooms and restrooms, huge king size bed, closet space, drawers, reading lamps over the headboard, touch bedside lamps, iPod station, and a clear flatscreen TV. Too bad I didn't get to check out the pool or fitness room, but next time, Hotel Palomar.
I didn't get turn-down service and a sweet chocolate over my pillow like Andrea R--I think that worked out for the best--but honestly, their staff is so accommodating. Coming home with a buzz led me to raid the mini bar for some late night munchies. The chips were dangerously stale, and I just mentioned it to the front desk clerk and she took it off my tab *and* also charged me for the least expensive sparkling wine on their menu since I wasn't sure which one I actually consumed. Seriously, Kimpton Hotels, PLEASE expand to Houston and New Orleans!Listed in: Dallas - Hotels

PaLOVEmar. Like most Kimpton hotels this is a goodie- perhaps even the best of the bunch I've stayed at.
I was a fan before even arriving when I checked out the web site and my visit did not disappoint:
* Connected to my oh so favorite Exhale Spa - try their core fusion classes!
* Very nice fitness facility- would have helped if i didn't forget the running shoes!
* Dog friendly- would have also been nice if I didn't leave the pup at home
* Modernly designed rooms- I left with some decorating tips for my new condo (especially for the bathroom)
* Comfortable yet swank lobby- yep, that was me yelping away downstairs
* Free Wi-fi
* Uh-mazing location- restaurants/bars within walking distance
* Fantastic Service- felt like a queen during my 3 days there and I'm always a fan of the chocolates on the bed during turn down service
I'll be back soon- next time with running shoes and perhaps even my pup ;)Listed in: Hotels Around the World, Yelping in Dallas!

You have got to be (expletive deleted) kidding me.
This has got to be one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. Sure, there is cool music, "free wine!" that was announced to us 4 times by personnel as we entered the lobby and that pretentious wanna-be-trendy feel. But the basics simply suck.
We wanted to shack up for a weekend and do the spa thing based on the reviews here. Got to the room and ordered room service for dinner. Disaster. The waiter forgot one of the entrees .. then silverware. Okay he was nervous (I guess?), but how can he leave the kitchen in that state? The then basic hamburger (which cost like $20) was cooked to beyond well done. Almost a cake of bone dry sawdust. And the sauteed spinach was literally inedibly salty. I like salt and this was literally enough to gag me. So we called again .. now we are the room with all the problems after the entree and silverware incident .. and told the kitchen about the food. We were told thank you and that the cook would be informed. That's it?, I asked. Yep, that's it.
Okay, so no dinner but we drained the minibar and had a great night. Next morning, we gamble on breakfast. Same routine. Salmon plate had so much red onion on it it fumigated the room. And they forgot the bagel AND our coffee cups. Unbelievable.
The hotel was empty on our floor and we heard a tour pass by showing a bridal party around. "We're totally sold out", she said. I almost said (expletive deleted) to her face. The room is barely passable and includes a beige, plastic oval tub that looks like a cross between a wheel-care nursing home wash station and a dirt-smudged porn film set. Get the picture?
There cannot be anyone who has stayed at this hotel with any perspective on what a 5 star hotel is who could give this place a rating above a 1. There are a lot of you here, but this is the fact. Stay at the San Jose in Austin, a W anywhere .. well I could go on but I won't. If I could give this place a 0, I would.
Oh .. and this is to be continued with my rant on the equally poor Exhale and Trader Vics. -

I love you, Hotel Palomar.
I recently had my wedding here and was beyond pleased at how it turned out. Lisa and the rest of the crew were ridiculously accomodating from day one. Anything I needed, anything I requested, they made sure I had (except I couldn't hang anything from the ceiling, that was the only bummer.) The valet staff, desk staff, concierge, catering folks, and wedding folks were all really nice to me and my guests. They even let me design my own dinner for the wedding! Planning was a breeze and everyone raved about the venue.
I was REALLY pleased with our complimentary honeymoon suite and all the guests who stayed there loved their accomodations as well. I can't recall a single frustration! We will definitely be staying here again and again (even though it's like one minute from our house, haha)--and they've got some great deals for summer!Listed in: I Got Hitched

I celebrated my 25th birthday here, you would think kinda lame- but just wait.
Within walking distance you have Trader Vic's. "Trader Vic's Lounge is the place to go if you're ready for an exotic escape from your daily grind and want to be surrounded by island décor and soothing sounds of Hawaiian music." ( I snagged that from the website) Fact- it rocks
Palomar is in a good location, with plenty to do all around if you just cant sit still.
Overall the hotel was impressive. Luxury meets contemporary and affordable. The bar scene rocked! Great people. Great drinks.
The room was just the right size and in just about every way- perfect. Room service the next morning was quick, friendly, and the food was delicious. I have never seen an omelet like that before.
Thanks for the memories, Palomar -

Highland Park, CA
This hotel does NOT have a champagne pool, but it does have a spa and a great gym. And work paid for it, which always helps the approval rating.
The good:
* Palatial rooms. I had a "luxury suite". Two TVs, two sofas, at least five comfy chairs, a bed that was made harder when I asked, valet parking, a good bar downstairs full of milfy Dallas scenery, a 24 hour pool, 24 hour weight room, great staff, am indoor fountain filled with cranberries, free coffee in the morning, a small fishtank in every room, two sinks in the bathroom, ice delivered each afternoon, close to shopping at mockingbird station, and a bathtub big enough for a donkey.
The bad:
* room service meals that not even a donkey would eat
* rough towels
* ice machines are really far away.
* expensive laundry
* $18 free valet parking
* it's in Dallas
I was staying at the doubletree up the street and I told my employer I would kill myself and then quit if they didn't put me somewhere better. They moved me down the street and I promptly became a more productive employee.
this is shorter and probably far more informative than most of my reviews, sorry... -

Holy crap I loved this hotel. I do not love the south. I do not love the rain, but if I have to be in the south in the rain, I want to be at Hotel Palomar.
The rooms are amazingly comfortable-the bedding is incredible, the decor is soothing, and the bathrooms are delightful-shower big enough for um...2? CHECK! amazing toiletries-L'occitaine verbena scented? CHECK-well-lit mirror that flatters and makes it easy to put makeup on-CHECK!
The robes in the room are hilarious-they're zebra print. If this doesn't make you wanna take off your clothes (to ahem...put a robe on, obviously), raid the minibar, and do whatever it is that people do when they're wearing zebra robes covered in cheese doodle powder.
The service? Awesome-attentive, helpful, and genuinely interested in your stay (or they're GREAT actors). Wine reception from 5-6 (wheeee free booze!), an on-site doggie whom I did not meet this trip, but plan on meeting the next trip, free coffee in the mornings downstairs. And who could forget the free people watching. I have never seen so many cougars in my entire life. I know where to go in 15 years when I reach my peak cougardom.
Lovely, lovely, lovely stay. -

The Palomar is one of my most favorite hotels in Dallas. Along with the W, it ranks as the hotel with the coolest vibe. It is luxurious, but not stuffy, like the Mansion at Turtle Creek.
The pros
1. This is one swanky hotel. Swanky as in LA or NYC swanky. I felt like I was staying at The Roosevelt in LA or The Ace in NYC. Or, if I'm going to namedrop, the Delano in Miami. The Palomar is a cool, hipster hotel without the pretentiousness.
2. The rooms have a very modern touch to them, but are comfortable enough to be able to relax. I love their bathroom amenities, the awesome flat panel tv, and their luxurious robes. I gotta buy one next time I stay.
3. The location doesnt get any better. There are a tons of really good restaurants a stone's throw away (Central 214 inside is great, as is Trader Vic's around the corner). Also, Steel for sushi, Urban Taco for a quick bite, and Eatzi's for a bottle of bubbly and great snacks are all so close. Their is fantastic shopping at Mockingbird Station (as well as the Angelika theater, my fav mini chain in DFW) as well as Northpark a couple of miles to the north. Clubs and bars abound as well.
4. The service is top-notch. Hal at the front desk couldn't have been any nicer, and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. Tim, the manager, was also around, making sure our stay was comfortable. The guy knows the area very well also, so ask him about some of the local haunts that tourists would never no about. He will hook a girl up!
I have no cons at all for the Palomar. I have stayed several times and will again soon. Oh, also, their spa rocks. I love the Exhale! -

I loved this newly renovated hotel. It was beautiful and they took the time to pay attention to details. They even used Bang and Olufsen phones if that gives you an idea.
The interior decorator that they hired should be given a bonus. It was gorgeous without being pretentious--and Dallas could use a bit more of that. You definitely got a luxurious feel to the hotel, but it was still relaxing. The service was impeccable. The bell boys were all friendly and very knowledgeable. The check in desk was professional and helpful. The valet was quick and efficient. All these things added up to a great experience here.
We had a large group staying at this hotel and they managed to take care of us all without having that hassled air about them. They were infinitely patient as we asked for directions time and time again. Yes, the price of the hotel is a bit steep, but it is definitely worth it for the quality that you get.Listed in: The finer things in life

I travel to Dallas on a quarterly basis and usually stay somewhere else. However, the Palomar was close to a meeting venue so I decided to try it out. Boy, am I glad I did! Excellent service throughout. Great room at a very reasonable price. My new favorite business hotel in Dallas.
Make sure to make time for cocktails outside in the patio!
BTW, I had some concerns after reading the bedbug post. Concerns were totally unfounded: not a bedbug in sight and the hotel is immaculate. -

Guys, the Yelp reviews don't lie, this is the ONLY hotel I'm staying at when I come to Dallas now.
I had a room reserved at the W Victory Dallas for the Pacquiao fight. But there was a last minute Travlezoo deal that was very tempting for a weekend stay at the Palomar. After comparing Yelp reviews for the two hotels, there was no question where I was staying. Better reviews and for almost $100 less a night? Where do I sign?
And the difference here is the SERVICE! Yes, the lobby is beautiful and the rooms are nice, but the service (from the valets to the front desk to the cleaning ladies) are PHENOMENAL! I'll NEVER return to the Magnolia Hotel Dallas, and dare I say it? The Adolphus? This place is just too good for the money!
They treated us with respect from the moment we checked in. They didn't even bat an eye as I dragged my semi-conscious drunk girlfriend out of a cab and up the elevator at 3AM. (I know it sounds funny, but when we're in Dallas we put it down pretty hard and it's nice to know the staff here isn't too uptight about the nightlife).
Don't get me wrong, there's other hotels where you can get the same service, but NOT for what these guys are charging; not even close!
The ONLY thing that bothered me about my stay here is their "incidentals hold policy." I've stayed at a lot of hotels, and never have I encountered a policy such as this: a $100 authorization per NIGHT when you check in. That equates to a $200 charge (that's eventually refunded to you) when you check in for two nights. And that's NOT a hold, it's a full fledged authorization. Not a deal breaker, but it would've been nice to know ahead of time. I just had to move a couple of things around after the charge (instantly) went through on my account. But aside from that, this is a fantastic hotel. -

I wanted to stay another night! We will definitely be back on our 1 year anniversary!

We arrived to a free cocktail hour. What better way to start the night. Our room was very nice and clean. We wish we had our swim suits because the pool was very nice and heated! The staff was friendly which is always a plus. This was a good stay and I would definitely recommend it.

I LOVE the Palomar...but is it associated with Brackets at all? If it is, they may want to step in and regulate that place. Its sooooo cool but the customer service is awful and the restrooms are unkept. I wouldn't think that the Palomar would want to be associated with a place like that. If they are not associated with it, then its perceived that they are. Might reflect on the Palomar the wrong way....which I would hate.

The Hotel Palomar Bar & Lounge are a well kept secret. It is very hip. The drinks run close 10 dollars, but they have some original concoctions on the menu. You can also east so bar food like a cheese tray. If you are looking for a hip/classy place for a drink then I recommend it.

Would highly suggest you stay here when in Dallas. Service is A+, rooms are very nice and restaurant/bar is fantastic. The location is perfect for any type of shopping and dinning in Dallas. When I come back to Dallas again, a sure bet I will be staying at Hotel Palomar.

The public areas are very nice. The rooms are another story. Finishes and fabrics are worn and in poor condition. Service is fabulous. Very pet-friendly.

Review from Nish N.
Let's see: a complimentary wine happy hour, a $10 credit to the minibar for being a Kimpton member (hello Maker's Mark and Tom's of Maine Toothpaste!), a spacious and modern room with a king size bed to get lost in, and the New York Times waiting for me the next morning. This was a top notch way to be whisked in and out of Dallas, and I can't hardly wait to try out more properties under the Kimpton Hotels umbrella.

Wow. What a hotel! I typically stay down the street at the other Dallas Kimpton joint, Hotel Lumen, and one night recently they were full and I had to book at Palomar. Lucky me! This place is nicer than many of the Kimpton Hotels I frequent. The design throughout is gorgeous. Valet, concierge, and front desk staff - all top notch. There is a spa/yoga studio semi-attached to the hotel but I didn't get to take a class. Instead, I asked for a yoga bag to be sent to my room, which is a favorite perk of mine at all Kimptons. Great chain.

Great service. Great rooms. Great staff. Great amenities. I could probably write another thirty great things about this boutique hotel, but I'll spare. If you're considering this spot for a business trip, getaway or some pampering, trust me, you'll be beyond pleased.

I stayed at the Palomar about a year ago..September 2007. The service is great, the amenities were fine, I love that they have L'Occitane toiletries... I can only wish I could have stopped by their Spa : Exhale and relax....if only!
