I love love LOVE this bakery. I loved it even before I knew it existed. Why? My parents have been getting my cakes (birthday, graduation, 1st Communion, etc.) here since I was born. And my dad's family has been coming here for baked goodies long before I got here.

Their whipped cream cakes (with strawberry filling please) must be made in Heaven, because that's the only way they can taste that good while being that inexpensive! I recently bought a small chocolate whipped cream cake for my dad's birthday, which they personalized, and three pieces of crumb cake (I'll get to that in a minute) - all for under $12. I had to hold myself back from buying the cookies & danishes.

Now can I tell you about the crumb cake? It's the absolute BEST I've ever tasted. The crumbs are thick and crunchy and crumby and delicious. The cake itself is sooo moist and soft, even the next morning! When I was little, the best holidays were the ones where we ordered a sheet of crumb cake, served with hot coffee.

Stop in if you can. There's usually parking on the street, or you can turn down that little dead end next to the bakery. BRING CASH - though you won't need much! And try not to drool on the rotating cake & pie displays (they frown on that).

DELICIOUS APPLE STREUDEL.. get it if youre lucky enough to snatch one! I just ate one third of this baby in one sitting, and I don't feel the least bit guilty..
Their pecan rings are a classic.. the cream filling is not too sweet, and the pecans are delicious. Perfect. I wouldn't go for their cookies though, as they weren't that great. I thought they were even a bit dry and crumbly. Maybe I had a bad batch?

Truly a secret that needs to be shared.  Old fashioned goodness, with great customer service and great, great prices.  Love the pecan ring with fresh custard, gigantic soft and jam-packed with blueberries muffins and the apple turnovers.  No preservatives, nothing artificial.  Easy street parking.  Enjoy and tell your friends.
It's a tradition that needs to keep going on!

Great place for affordable & decent birthday cakes. Just a little too sweet for me but the kids love it. Picking one up now actually. Happy Birthday EV.
Try the Pecan Custard Pie but don't if I am standing in line behind you and there is only 1 left.

It's true.  Pecan custard ring is HEAVENLY.  But everything else is just okay so I don't bother with anything else (I especially don't order their cookies or any single serving treats)..  Parking's great-- they have a private lot down to and around the side so you don't have to deal with meters.  Really glad to see this local landmark still thriving in a mostly Korean business populated neighborhood.

Epicurean: A person devoted to refined sensuous enjoyment (especially of good food and wine).

    Guilty as charged.

In my opinion, rating a business 5 stars should be reserved for those establishments with a unique product that you will go out of your way to seek out.. Pal Park bakery  more than meets this criteria for they possess  the holy Grail of Danish........the  filled pecan ring

When I first heard of this danish I thought to myself " Who ever thought to slice a pecan ring horizontally and fill it with cream?"  You gluttonous evil genius   This weird combo works!!   And it rocks.

Every component of this danish is perfection.

    1.  The danish pastry.  Flaky, buttery without being dry or greasy.  And not overcooked; I can't stand when danish are baked too dark.  This was perfectly light/golden.  Probably the best danish pastry I have ever tasted in my life.

    2.  The filling.  The italian pastry cream tastes like it was whipped by the angels in heaven.  Spiked with vanilla it is smooth, light and rich at the same time.  Denser than whipped cream but lighter that bavarian pudding cream.  Just un-freakin believable.

3,  The pecans.  These aren't some ordinary, pecans someone bought in  bag in ShopRite and sprinkled on top.  These taste like high quality pecans that were picked right off a tree in Georgia and shipped up the East coast.  Fresh/buttery/nutty.  Again, the best pecans I have ever tasted on a bakery danish.

    4.  The drizzle.  Again, perfection.  Icing was perfect consistency and sweetness.

One bite of this danish and you will be closing your eyes moaning in delight.........it's just that good!

A nice bonus about Pal Park bakery is that they sell their legendary pecan ring in two sizes!    A mini, which only costs $4.00 and can probably feed 2-4 people.  (check out the picture I took of it next to my coffee cup so you can get an idea of the size)  I also tried the 7 layer cake which was very good also (4 stars for that).   I will definitely be heading back to PPB, they have an enormous selection, the staff was extremely friendly.  And a big, big bonus for NJ...........they are open on Mondays.

If you need a cake, pie or any type of dessert to bring to any function this is the place to go. Not only is everything baked fresh but its cheap!

I walked in wanting to buy everything so I had many questions which the helpful staff were more than happy to answer. I finally made my decision on the blueberry pie to give as a thank you gift.

With the holidays approaching, keep this place in mind for good desserts that wont hurt your wallet.

The custard filled pecan ring is the only reason I visit this bakery. I'm pretty sure they make other items well but I would probably kick myself if I didn't get the pecan ring on every stopover.

We ordered a full sheet for my in laws 50th anniversary and wow what a great cake, not to mention that many, many other times we've come to Palisades Park Bakery. Prices are always within reason. I've often said to my wife that Copenhagen Bakery on the other side of the country in Burlingame, CA, costs twice as much and is not nearly as good as Palisades Park Bakery

Had I known earlier that the b/f lives just a couple of blocks away from this place, I would have EASILY gained about 15lbs or so by now.

Holy schnizzle schnaps in the Mexican sombrero-dancing heavens above!

So caught in the bind of last-minute recalling I was in charge of the dessert situation for the turkey dinner & in no mood to bake, I remembered reading about this place. Being so close in proximity, I figured it didn't hurt to check it out.

Am I fuckin' glad I did.

Here's a lil' list of what I got:
    -6 cannoli's
    -huge crumb apple pie
    -small pumpkin pie
    -1/2-log of cheese strudel
    -1/2-sheet of tiramisu
    -1 container of pecan pudding

    The damage: $47

How this place survives on the cheap prices in ratio to the ridiculously rich, creamy & tasty flavors it dishes out, is beyond me.

The place was packed when I swung by around 3ish & was almost sold out of all cakes & pies.

They pretty much have everything your standard bakery should have with the added bonus of cheap prices to well-made baked goods.

I decided to not be so selfish with this lil' treasure & share it with you busterasses...but don't abuse the knowledge (or I just might have to shank you, if we're talking about who gets the last cheese strudel up in here).

    Oh, yum.

This place has been my family's favorite local bakery since... before I was a twinkle in my Mommy's eye!

Delicious, delicious cakes. Excellent service. You can order a cake in advance, or just go on the day of your event and get something excellent. They'll write beautifully on your cake in no time at all. Also: this place is SO cheap for the quality that you get! You can get a cake for $7 or $8!

I am partial to the yellow cake with chocolate icing and chocolate pudding filling. YUM. All chocolate is great too.

You can't go wrong, really, at the Palisades Park Bakery!

My (nostalgic) favorite bakery in the entire world.

Their 7 layer cake is the thing legends are made of. No matter what size, shape, or flavor you get, it is always delicious. And free cake writing!

The cookies are nice and buttery, and always have contemporary shapes, which make fantastic kid presents.

They also have a yummy walnut ring, which you can get with or without a layer of custard in the middle. Honestly, if I wasn't worried about fitting in my clothes, I could sit down and eat an entire ring every day.

    So. Freakin. Good.

Friends brought one of Palisades Park Bakery's pecan custard rings to an evening BBQ at my home about six years ago.  When I peeked inside the box, I thought it was a thoughtful, but odd choice of dessert- especially for a summer evening (because of the custard). I'll add that I don't particularly like nuts, or danish-type rings. To me, it looked more like a breakfast-type item, rather than a dessert.

After dinner, I set out my homemade fresh- fruit pies, homemade ice cream, and the pecan custard ring. To be polite, I sliced myself a very small wedge of pecan ring, so as not to hurt my guest's feelings.

The pastry is crispy and flaky, the custard was refreshingly cold, and the top was drizzled to perfection with whole pecans.  OMG!!!!!

Let me just say that after my guests had left I was thrilled that there was still a nice-sized piece of this pecan custard ring left!  I quickly jammed another thin slice into my mouth, hoping no one would catch me, and then guiltily hid the rest of the ring in the bottom drawer of the fridge- praying no one else would find it!  Needless to say, the next morning I holed up in my office and savored it with my coffee.  I was in heaven...and hooked on pecan ring!

It's now 2 in the morning and my mouth is absolutely watering!  Came to this site because I needed the phone number to make sure Palisades would be open tomorrow morning. (They close for a week or two of vacation every summer)  Hubby works nights, so I just called and sweet-talked him into picking one up on the way home. Yum! Can't wait!
P.S. The pecan custard rings come in 2 sizes- small and large!  They easily keep for 3 or 4 days in the fridge- BUT not if I'm around!

Every now and then I get an excuse to buy a cake, such as birthdays, anniversaries, attending a dinner party, supporting the economy through consumption ... ok the last one is not an excuse but a patriotic act of sacrifice (packing pounds to support local businesses). At these times I search far and wide for good cakes and after reading reviews from fellow Yelpers I decided to give this bakery a try.

Let me say that I was not disappointed, the bakery makes excellent cakes and pretty much everything else they bake and sell is really good. I personally love the fact that they make cakes with fresh cream icing, as I'm not really a fan of butter cream (those of you who love butter cream this place has those cakes as well).

Aside from the great tasting cakes, their low low prices are truly the icing on top (pun intended).

So go check out Palisades Park Bakery and support your local business and the economy by making a personal sacrifice.

This is what Italian Bakeries are all about. Also, the staff are incredibly sweet. If I wasn't watching my waistline I'd stop in here everytime I came down Broad ave.

The first time I came here BF and I were having pizza across the street. We straggled over afterwards to see if we could grab a quick dessert. The store had closed about 3 minutes before, but an employee was cleaning up inside. We were just checking out the cakes in the window, disappointed we wouldn't get sweets on that day, but accepting; however, as we started to walk away she came over and unlocked the door and said we could come in and buy something if we wanted because she hadn't shut the register down yet. Now that's service! I used to be a cashier, and god knows I would have never ever gone above and beyond like that. If I'd locked the door I was done for the day and no amount of puppy-eyed customers could have gotten me to reopen.

The end result? We bought some Canolis, and they were all devoured by the time we got home. Oops, guess we'll just have to go back for more.

Palisades Park bakery is a great bakery. I am a big fan of the cupcakes, the frosting on top is perfect! Not to sweet but it has a good taste. The cake is great, and the frostings are very tasty. They made a 3 tiered birthday cake for my sisters 18th birthday party, and I LOVED IT! It was amazing. Im not a fan of cannoli cream but my parents say theirs is great!. Also, the place is inexpensive and won't put a dent in your pocket when you want to buy a cake. We also tried the pecan ring, and it was very yummy! the filling inside of it made me want to eat the whole thing in one sitting! Their buttercream is amazing! Im not a fan of sweet buttercream, but this one was perfect. My sister is a big fan of the napoleons too! But the St. Joseph Zepollis are by far one of the best pastry's in the bakery.

I totally forgot to Yelp about Palisades Bakery until a friend brought a cheesecake and keylime pie from Palisades Bakery recently to a party! They are known for cheap and delicious classic American/Italian style baked goods. I've been buying their famous seasonal special peach pie for nearly 10 years!! It's only available during the summer so make sure you go buy one when it's still available!! And the price is excellent, it's so refreshing to find a place that still sells decent whole cake around $10 while other cake shops are selling whole cakes for $20-$30. Their cakes range from good to mediocre, but for the price and quantity it's a pretty good value. I can't wait for the peach season!!!

This bakery has excellent desserts. They bake batches of holiday decorated butter cookies and other familiar Italian goodies. What makes Pal Park Bakery special is their cakes. I'm certain everyone in the neighborhood has tried their custard cakes...whether with walnuts on top...or crumb custard...or plain....the cakes are fresh and the custard is smooth and not too sweet or runny, just perfect. Great cakes for the right prices.  Remember cash only, no cc.

I've been visiting this establishment for literally my entire life. I think I might have had some canoli blended up in my baby food. I had to write this today because I picked up some pastries for Easter. The staff has changed over a few times since I was a kid but everything still tastes the same - amazing. My family has also been ordering large cakes from this place for years. Depending on the occasion, we get the quarter, half, or full sheet. The best part of this bakery is that it's really affordable. I mean I picked up a giant apple horseshoe, 2 canolis, and 2 other pastries for 9 bucks. Beat that.

Can such a gem come from such a little boro?  Yes.  Try their apple turnovers.  Once, I drove all the way there just to get one (or five), and they were renovating, and I had to deeply had to contemplate whether or not I wanted to go on with my life.  Their strawberry shortcake is fabulous, the standard for me, much more delicious than any of the ones I've bought for about double the price.  Seriously, I have yet to taste anything close to breaking the mold.  And their blueberry cheesecake is a favorite at our home.  Seriously, just try anything there and I defy you to tell me that it's not delicious.

This always hits the spot and never disappoints. I have also tried the napoleon, which was, to my surprise, also delicious. Yes, they make pretty good donuts and walnut ring(without the filling) but some other baked goods like tiramisu and key limes pies are a joke.  My sis bought a tiramisu cake for my b'day and we ended up throwing out the whole cake because it was disgusting.  We've tasted their key lime pies too which was also no good.  Yes, they are super cheap but super cheap for a reason.  Their so called custard creme is filled with artificial junks.  Try Balthazar bakery in Englewood if you are serious about what you are eating.
