Have you ever seen an old movie called the Freshman with Marlon Brando and Matthew Broderick? This store could have been their main supplier for their rather unique exotic animal dining business.
This is one of those cases where a store's name actually describes what you will find inside perfectly. This butcher has the broadest selection of exotic meats I have found in Vancouver. The bulk of the items are frozen, but they have some fresh as well. Check out the offerings I spied today:
Alligator
Ostrich
Silkie
Venison
Mallard Duck
Mui Ling
Pheasant
Partridge (no pear trees though!)
Taiwanese Chicken
Quail
Squab
and about 3 dozen others that I couldn't identify because they were only described in Chinese characters that I couldn't recognize.
Very interesting selection - now I only wonder if they will provide recipes to use all of those ingredients to their fullest potential?!?!?!?!?!Listed in: Vancouver Chinese Food, Quack!
