Everyday I am surprised by the tidbits that come from my learning experience at Pacific Design Academy. Most of the gems I use daily come from the interactions between faculty and students. The immense diversity of instruction and achievement is a defining characteristic of Pacific Design Academy. At the same time, this support promotes an exceptional learning and teaching environment in Victoria's most vibrant and welcoming downtown community.
Specialties
Located in Victoria, BC. and founded in 1991, the Pacific Design Academy is a local, family owned private post secondary school. We are Victoria's private post secondary design school focusing on applied arts programs.
We offer full time, two year diploma programs in:
- Interior Design
- Fashion Design
- Graphic Design
- Building Technology
PDA also offers part time classes in related areas:
Fashion Design includes: Pattern Making and Construction workshops
Graphic Design includes: Photoshop, InDesign and Photography workshops.
Interior Design includes: Vectorworks CAD, Feng Shui and Decorating.
We support many local charities including: Mustard Seed Food bank, Big Brothers & Sisters, Canadian Breast Cancer, Victoria Hospitals Foundation and many more. We are open to exploring additional opportunities to support our community.

History
Established in 1991
The Pacific Design Academy was founded in 1991, by Maureen Drew, as an interior design school. Over the years the school has grown and added program in Building Technology, Graphic Design, Fashion Design and Landscape Design.
The schools focus has always been to provide practical and affordable education in the design arts. With that aim in mind we hire instructors with working knowledge of their industry and partner with local businesses to provide our students with the skills to launch a career in design.
Meet the Business Owner: Oliver D.
Returned to Victoria in 2005 to take the helm of the Pacific Design Academy and to settle down and start a family.
I'm blessed to work with some amazingly talented and very nice people at PDA. In my duties I get to meet many local designers and fellow business owners. I'm always looking for better ways to serve our students, serve our community and partner with local companies.
Education is a fulfilling but incredibly difficult industry to work in. Helping people better their lives through education and finding paid work after graduation is the most rewarding thing I've ever done.
