We stopped at the restaurant adjoining the Pacific Breeze Motel in Tofino, B.C. on the evening of 27 August 2011, hoping for fish and chips as our dinner. An older, silver-haired gentleman behind the counter greeted us with, "Cash only!" without so much as a "Hello" first. I looked down at the menu for the prices to see if I had enough cash. He asked, "What are you looking at?" I told him I had only $20 cash to which he rudely said, "That's not enough." I was very surprised he would not accept VISA. On my exit out the door I casually said, "You lost some business." Whereupon he followed me out to my car and told me, "Don't come back unless you have cash." I will never go back to the Pacific Breeze Motel's restaurant under any circumstances.
