I like this place for their salmon dons, a dome of sushi rice covered by  many pieces of salmon, cut in varying thickness, but not too thick.  They also offer a tuna don and spicy versions of both.

Their chicken cutlet is fantastic!  After several visits, we have yet to tire of it (great every time!)  It is also available in the "ebi" fry, which is a variety of 3 fried items, including shrimp.

I enjoy the miso soup, which as far as I can tell, has an added element of a sumashi broth, making it more delicious and complex in flavour (very tasty!)

They often give freebies, such as edamame or fried chicken with sweet sauce, which is always appreciated.

The enclosed areas are nice for privacy and the service ranges from efficient to slightly overwhelmed, but still cordial.

Unfortunately, parking is an issue in the area, especially after 7pm.
3.5 stars... more than A-ok, but inconvenient if you're not already in the area.

My family has been eating at Oyshi for years now. We love coming to this cozy little spot for Friday night dinners, especially on cold winter nights. The lovely people that work there know our orders: chirashi for Dad, some sort of warm dish for Mom (on our most recent trip, it was the unagi bento), kaki udong for my brother and I, and usually the dynamite maki for all of us to share. There's a reason we all order the same thing every time - the food is just plain good. The sashimi is fresh (the white tuna is to die for), the udong is warm and comforting, and the dynamite maki (shrimp tempura, salmon, avocado, cucumber, roe) has all of my favorite flavors rolled into one.

And then they always give us a complimentary dish, usually cooked salmon or karaage chicken - and both are always delicious. Even if we're stuffed full from dinner, we can't help but polish off the extra dish every time!

The sushi was not very good. I was underwhelmed by the rainbow roll. I couldn't finish my dish. It was just pretty bad.

The service was OK, they were a little overworked. It's hard to get a really good impression on one visit.

I love this place. I really do... I just wish it was three times the size. But at the same time, that's part of the charm. It's small, cozy, and full of funky/kitschy Japanese decor and a hundred framed autographs from all the famous people who have eaten here.

Went for dinner with Daddio & D last week. It was D's first time, but Dad and I have come here together a few times before. It's our go-to place before seeing something at Harbourfront Centre. Now that I work there, it's dangerous!

Some of the freshest sushi I've had, and I appreciate the rice-to-other-stuff ratio here, which is not a lot of rice and a LOT of other stuff. YUMYUMYUM!

The miso soup is incredible here - for those who think all miso soup is the same, come here and discover your folly. It's one of my favourites in the city (Toronto proper).

D got the Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box, and loved it. Tempura deserves a particular mention - I tried it. I'm a sucker for yam tempura though!!!

Dad got a bunch of assorted sushi & sashimi and adored it all, as per usual. We love this place. I don't eat fish, but I hear the "ahhh"s and the "mmmm"s all over the place.

We also got the butter mushroom app.... drool. As for me, I ordered the cucumber rolls and the avocado rolls. Lovely, lovely, lovely.

Our dinner for three (and we ordered 4 appetizers as well as three entrees, sake and beer) came to under $100 without tip.

The service is INSANELY fast. Even when they are full, it's unbelievably rapid. If you're looking for a leisurely sushi experience, you won't find it here, though we didn't really feel rushed, either.

As others have said, it's a little hard to find, but don't second guess yourself. Keep following the food store around the corner and you'll see it.

I have to say, I am so disappointed when an unsalted, cold edamame app arrives at the table. Is that the/a regional or traditional way of serving it or something? I don't know. I've never heard of that. I like my edamame hot and salty.  Preferably with flakes of salt. Not the case here...

It loses the rest of the edamame-drained star because there's no standard bar. Just beer, wine and sake. BOOOO! This girl needs cocktails as part of just about ANY occasion.

Quaint little sushi place next to the Kitchen Table Grocery store. I ordered take-out (as did several other patrons), so I can't comment too much on the ambiance. But from the looks of it, the entire place probably can't hold any more than 40 people.

The yellowtail fish was pretty fresh (smooth and buttery), roll selection was okay, but the prices are pretty steep (though I'm coming from Texas, so I'm not sure that I'm the best judge of Toronto sushi prices). Service was very friendly and appreciative. As a plus (for me, at least), they all spoke Japanese, which is such a pleasant language to listen to.

I got my sushi for takeout. I ordered cucumber rolls and vegetarian futomaki. I had a bit of trouble with them falling apart but the taste was good. I was especially impressed with the futomaki, which made up for the cucumber being a bit less fresh. The staff was friendly and helpful in choosing vegetarian menu items. The wait was reasonable. It was quiet and would have been an enjoyable dine-in location, from what I experienced. I received free edamame, which was a nice touch. The price was reasonable for an a la carte menu order. I spent about $12 for twice what I needed for a meal. I will definitely return to Oyshi sushi.

Tucked into the base of a condo at the foot of Yonge Street, next to another fave haunt of mine (Harbour Sports Grille), this quaint little joint delivers good quality sushi with a smile and without fuss.

Private booths, decent selection, quietly efficient service, fast take-out and most importantly well-made sushi makes this place a solid option when Your Craw's Craving The Raw™.  I repeat: there is nothing fancy going on here, but it's just good.  Which is better than Not Good or Bad, and given the absolute nightmare that are some Toronto sushi joints, I'm happy to recommend this place.

And specifically: go here after a summery late-evening walk around Harbourfront - because the restaurants around Harbourfront itself are super lame, full of loud American tourists in loud Hawaiian shirts and hard to get a good table at; this place is no more than a 10 minute walk away, less pretentious and less intent on raping your wallet within an inch of its life.

Excellent quality sushi and very inexpensive.
If you're looking for a good sushi place for lunch, try this place.

Service is very quick and inexpensive.

A lot of the hockey players who come to play in Toronto call this place a regular due to its proximity to the ACC.

Have never tried dinner here, only lunch.

I'm very surprised at the high ratings of this place. I went there today while on a business trip to Toronto and didn't feel like driving so I decided to try this place out that seemed to have a SOLID 4.5 stars.
I ordered hot sake which was the best thing I had.
Then they bring me edamame as a free treat this stuff was dry as if it was sitting out for hours, I'm not making this stuff up folks.
I ordered Squid, Yellow tail, a volcano roll (I think that's what it was called) and my favorite of all Uni (Sea Urchin)
All of it was terrible, very dry like it had been sitting around for a while and not very flavorful. Well I always save the best for last; I put the Uni in my mouth and started eating it and I got this nasty bitter taste. Unfortunately I had already swallowed sum before spitting it out. I really hope I don't get sick.
I tried to like this place; there is nothing better then that great feeling you get from your fellow Yelpers liking something and you enjoying it to. But I have to say I really hated this place. I have been so some really mediocre sushi bars but this one was not even something I would go to if it was the only sushi restaurant in the world.
    YUCK! YUCK! YUCK!

Many better sushi places downtown. Oyshi service is to be desired, food is decent but always gives me the trots afterward. I only go there if everyone else is, too many better places around.

This was a little sushi place that was, well, just a little sushi place. The sushi wasn't terrible, but it wasn't terribly good. At least not enough to pass 3 stars.

The rice was a bit dry and the seaweed was a bit too thick... The chewy kind that you can't bite through. I like it when it's thin.

This place is almost hidden, so you will probably miss it driving by.  I think it is the best sushi along the harbourfront and a better than average restaurant in Toronto.

Best Sushi in Toronto. Well priced too. It's hard to find because it's tucked under a condo building and it caters mostly to the locals. But well worth it.
