Review from Valery C.
A very new-looking little store inside First Markham Place selling egg rolls, the baked variety. In need of an interior decorator, it's starkly white and unadorned, with just a fridge of desserts and drinks by the entrance, next to a station where they can prepare the rolls, and the ordering counter in the back.
The egg rolls come in a variety of Asian flavors, but I went with trying the original. Relatively expensive, the $6 box comes with 24 mini rolls, flawless and smooth, like stubby little stogies, and thin. Tastes like an egg roll, a pretty good one, fresh, light, and crispy.
Maybe just me, but I like the messier, imperfect looking ones better, but it's still tasty and makes a good present in its own box. -

Remember Egg Rolls? Crumbly Tubular Crepes?
Crumbles upon entry.[1] Disintegrates like you have Bad Breath.
Hong Kong comedy show feature Egg Rolls as an act.
Give it a try...
1. Insert Egg Rolls in mouth
2. Chew but do not swallow
3. Fill mouth to capacity
4. Face your Friend's face
5. Closer, closer, closer
6. Say "Peace" really loud*

Ovo Rolo is specialized in traditional Egg Roll Cookies. Hand made freshly with dozen of flavours: original, black sesame, seaweed, poppy seed, ginger just to name a few.
The original one I got for $6/24 was quite good and quite pricey. I can basically finished the whole thing in 1 seating! But it is advisable to finish the cookies as soon as possible as there is no preservatives used as all.
The cookies itself is crispy, flaky and have a very intense egg flavour.....
I guess I need to go back and try out the Black Sesame flavour! -

My sister brought home these guys a few weeks ago, and they were already eaten up in a day.
This place is newly open, and they say they've around since 1947, but I'm not sure exactly where they've been open since then.
Either case, this place does pretty good dan gun (egg roll cookies). Yes I know other places do them too, so why are these guys so special?
They have different flavours, like ginger, black pepper, seaweed and black sesame.
They are a bit pricey, we're talking about $6 a box of about half the size of other dan gun stores, but I have to say I enjoy the texture of them here better, so I'd say the $6 is worth it.
I'm a huge fan of their ginger flavor, but lately I've been tempted to try their black sesame or black pepper.Listed in: 30 days of Yelping

Diamond in the rough. Some people might find this expensive, $6 for a box of 24 tiny cripy egg rolls (not to be confused w/ egg rolls in a typical restaurant, this is a literal translation from Chinese). For a snack, it's quite healthy, relatively speaking, compared to say potato chips or even bite size pretzels. The ingredients used are of high quality, do not believe any junk like transfat or margarine was involved. Such high quality flavors are not easy to come by. One word of advice, once the package is opened, FINISH IT right away since they can only sit well for a couple of days before that "wow" factor is gone due to oxidation. The owner's son is pretty cool guy to deal w/ as well, very humble. Now the mom or owner?, is more business like. All in all, I love unique places like this, takes one back to a simpler time when life was slower and easier.
