Spent a weekend at the 4-star Ottawa Marriott Hotel, and I was able to get a discounted room rate through hotline, where I was able to bid on the price of a room. In the end, I was able to get the room for $85/night.

I didn't have much time to check out the amenities of this hotel. My room was clean and comfortable with adequate desk space, WiFi, and a flat screen. I was able to have a quick look at their pool and weight room, which looked clean and recently updated. The hotel is in an ideal location if you're looking to be downtown and close to parliament.

When I went, the hotel was crawling with pre-teen ringet players, who were racing up the halls and having a grand ol time playing games in the elevators, which caused me to wait a couple of minutes for my elevator ride... They weren't too much of a problem, but I would have expected the hotel to crack down on those little terrors.

Regardless, I believe what I had was an average room for a 4 star hotel. If I need to stay in Ottawa again (hopefully not), and if I can get a room for $85, I'll give the Ottawa Marriott Hotel another go.

Ended up in Ottawa after a disastrous car-mishap on the way to Montreal. Figured we would make the best of our weekend and stay in Ottawa. Having never been, we wanted a hotel downtown. Used the Priceline App from Highway 401E and managed to scare the Marriott for a great price.

Our view was GORGEOUS overlooking the canal and parliament buildings. Room was nice and clean with a super comfortable bed and a fridge, which I always enjoy. Television, free wifi in the lobby.

Didn't use the pool as it was full of screaming kids, but did use the very large sauna. The fitness center was really good. Had everything you need and has been recently updated.

The parking lot is under renovation and (I think) the lobby has just been completed. The parking is pricey, but as it was a weekend, the lot across the road has a $6 rate for Sat/Sun.

Overall, we had a great stay. Good location for tourism, brief walk to all the sights and a inexpensive cab to Chinatown/little Italy. Would stay again, especially for the price we paid.

    Stay Away!!

Had 3 colleagues check in to the Mariott -- This hotel was great 2-3 years back (2007/8) -- Now its gone to the Dogs!! Stay away from the hotel -- the folks all the way from the registration to service are very inconsiderate & rude. Strongly recommend the Courtyard Marriott at http://www.MarriottCou.... Atleast that one is close to the bars & the Hard Rock Cafe! Now I walk in shame amongst these 3 colleagues (it was their 1st trip to Ottawa)

My wife was served a piece of glass in her breakfast eggs in the 26th floor lounge. June 2nd. Otherwise room was clean with nice view of river. Food venues need to be inspected by City to see if there are other problems.  My advice - be careful if you stay here.

It's a Marriott, so expect to have a nice room that is clean and updated. Comfy beds always. The lobby is currently undergoing renovation, so they are rerouting you through a small maze of elevators. But if that is the worst thing I have to deal with in a day, I'm OK. Fitness Center is good and clean. The Concierge Lounge has a great view, although the food is just so-so. I never stay anywhere else in Ottawa, so I can't rate it against others in the area.

Nice and clean without the seady feel that some other hotels in Ottawa have. This hotel is as good as the Lord Elgin.

Horrible parking lot with the lowest roofs ever.  My Acura MDX just BARELY fit into it and the "hanging maximum height bar" hits my roof as I enter it.  Brutal.  Parking is $22/night if you plan on leaving and $18 otherwise which is awful.  Valet guy was rude as I pulled up once I told him I'd park it myself, wouldn't let me in the convenient parking garage entrance and made me circle the entire block to re-enter.  Wireless access is something like $13 a night.  Washrooms are tiny, bathtubs puny, water pressure on the showerhead terrible.  Ceiling in room was falling apart or held together with shoddy looking tiles.  Bed was comfortable at least, but at the price they're charging and supposedly calling themselves 4-stars, it better be.  I'd say the value for the money was not worth it at all..  The parking/wifi fees were a bit of a slap in the face, very expensive..  The one positive thing was they accomodated a 2PM late checkout for me.

I've stayed here twice and enjoyed the staff and hotel. The restaurant at the top has a great view of Ottawa. I'm a big fan of the Marriott chains and love that this hotel is pet friendly.
