Review from Jacqueline F.
Victoria, BC
We had the most terrible experience here: a cashier accidentally overcharged our debit card (not her fault!) but the process of trying to get the refund was absolutely painful. Multiple visits to the store, long wait times, and a lot of hassle. Repeated requests to speak to a manager were completely ignored (we were even warned by a cashier that we shouldn't talk to him because he can get irritated with this kind of thing); in the end we had to go to the other store at Hillside and they FINALLY reversed the charges (after 2+ weeks). Customer service was absolutely non-existant, which is especially upsetting because the original screw-up was a cashier's mistake.
Their clothes aren't that much cheaper than the other yoga wear places in Victoria and given this experience, it's worth the extra money to get decent customer service elsewhere. It became very clear (during one of several marathon waiting sessions as they tried to 'fix' the machine) that the service and convenience of their customers is absolutely not OT Fitwear's priority. Avoid avoid avoid! We will not be setting foot in that store again.Comment from Christina B. of OTfitwear 9/3/2010

History
Established in 2006
I ran a dance school and lived in yoga gear. One day my fiance and I were in Vancouver and we discovered a store selling beautiful, made in Vancouver clothing. I began wearing it. It was exactly like what I was used to but made in BC.
My fiance encouraged me to open up a retail location in Victoria. It was kinda scary at first. I could teach a great dance class, but selling clothes?
Long story short, the first year was tough. I learned a lot about customer service, ordering, manufacturing and managing and now I love it.
And I still get to teach. Now I am educating people about small business and what we all need to do to ensure our local economy remains viable.
Who knew I would end up here!
Meet the Business Owner: Christina B.
I'm a dancer and I love yoga. I am currently working on a Master's of Leadership at Royal Roads University.
I love how I can apply the principles I am learning to OTfitwear. It's very tangible.
I enjoy working at the shops. Everyone who works for OT is such a unique human being. This helps to create an awesome client base too, so working with everyone is fun.
I enjoy the learning curve that I have experienced bringing locally made clothes to Vancouver Island. I have learned so much about local economy and how to sustain it.
This has driven my passion for local, sustainable food through the roof. If I am not dancing, working, studying or doing yoga I am at a local market buying fresh, seasonal yummies with my fiance for our dinner.
Come and enjoy our island. Drop into OTfitwear and say hi!
