I wasn't planning to have a meal out but when I saw Oshin, my tummy rumbled and since I'm trying to diversify my diet I obeyed.
This really is a cute little place in this quiet mall. It's not a fast food counter, it's a real restaurant that you enter from the mall.

I ordered only a veggie roll to go, but the server was really sweet and brought me some Green Tea to sip while I waited.

Ben L is right, the rolls are a bit big for one bite! I'm not sure that's a good thing, because have you ever tried to eat only half of a slice? it breaks apart! -so boo for that...but it was fresh and tasty and I will most likely have a meal again there, and next time I'll have "for here".

Not bad. Nothing overly special, but the prices are decent and the place is clean. The staff is nice.  They are in a mall, so their location is a bit weird. We ordered the sushi tray from them for a party and it was pretty good value, we also ate in there once and the service and food was again pretty good.  Nothing bad to say about this place, just that their location is a bit odd.

    Good for a lunch!

I wasn't expecting much from this little sushi joint in Lynn Valley Centre when I stopped by for lunch. Like Peter W said, the location is a bit odd. The restaurant was busy and there was only one waitress trying to manage 10 tables. That's usually a recipe for disaster, but some how she did it even though she had to resort to running sometimes, poor girl. My wife and I ordered a few rolls - Oshin (salmon, tuna, egg, cucumber, and avocado), Caterpillar, and Spider. The portions were generous and the rolls were tasty. The priciest rolls were $8.95. We didn't feel like we were kept waiting despite the fact that there was only one server on the floor. I'll definitely be back for more rolls.

My family and I happened to be in Lynn Valley area at lunch on a weekend day and spotted this place. Well we were too far to any other sushi place we normally go to so we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately!!!

The place was empty, just a few staff members. We were seated and asked for drinks. As usual we ordered tea. The server could not speak English almost at all, had even problems understanding what we were saying. The first  impression looking at the menu was the food was too expensive compared to other small sushi places on Lonsdale or Marine Drive. Then we got the tea in shooter size little cups. After we ordered our food trying to communicate with the server the best we could. She brought the miso soup shortly but it was extremely watery, cold and tasted after chlorine. The main course arrived after a while where immediately I noticed the very small amount of seaweed salad I got. The menu said $3.90 so I went asking if it was the right portion for the price. I am not picky but 4 bucks which is half of the price of sashimi should render more than an ounce of salad. They said they'd "make more seaweed salad" so I settled.

My wife's main course which was a chicken teryiaki box was decent. My daughter's three rolls were on the smaller side but she was OK with the amount. The tuna & salmon sashimi I ordered were however extremely small for $10. In Ika Sushi or Sushiman I'd have trouble eating it all. Here a minute fish cuts were not even able to make me stop feeling hungry nor upset.

We finished our food and left without leaving a tip. Our advice, if you are hungry and do want more than a thimble of food or tea for $40 (3 people with just tea for drinking), go to Ika Sushi on Marine Dr. We'd probably pay around $30 there without leaving hungry.
