You might have heard that a breakfast is an important part of the meal of the day. But did you hear that its so important on Mothers day that you might actually forget that you have to take the kids to swimming class ?
Well, until i realized that, it was too late and we realized that its OK to have breakfast instead of brunch for one Sunday!

The location is good and easy to find on Main St. They have so many locations around the country but there is no such feeling of a chain restaurant. Everything is so fresh and like homemade. They use REAL eggs, good quality butter that turns the food real good.

Service: great people! Quick service . I never had to call them for any thing. Good place for kids.

Menu: Very simple & classic menu . No fancy-schmancy eggs. Keeps it real and easy to choose.

Specials: They are famous for their Apple Pancakes and Dutch baby. I didn't order those as i was in some omlette mood.

Ham & eggs : you can make eggs as you like but i asked them for an omlette . The ham tit bits and cheddar cheese in this "huge whoopee" that looked small at first but it never ended!!! The cheese and ham in each bite was mouthful. Tastes awesome !! Everything comes with 3 buttermilk pancakes or toast.

Eggs & sausage :  This classic  doesn't need the fancy presentation or fillers but simply demands a great taste . It truly meets this criteria here. Especially when it comes to sunny-side up , the  real eggs gives me a hard time at home. They get this perfect here.

Cinnamon Waffle: What could go wrong with a huge plate of golden waffle dusted with cinnamon & served with berry Syrup? Hmmm.. may be 1 waffle for $8.00 seems too much to spend but not sure what is the reason .

Unlimited coffee: I can't drink black so even before i look for server , i saw cream in one of the syrup bottles on my table. How cool!!! and i added the syrup next to it to sweeten it up and voila!

Pricing:The real stuff does have a price tag and so does this. Well, i still prefer to go here over the unlimited stuff !

Decor: Not so huge , but a large sunny rectangular room like the one in cafeterias.

What i liked: Everyone is excited to look at each other's plate from the corner of eye to find out if there is anything unusual that can be still served at a pancake house :) i love doing this full by looking directly over their tables.

The Dutch baby is great. I miss it so much (don't live in Buffalo anymore!).

Okay, okay...I admit it.  I ordered a "Dutch Baby" and ate the entire thing all by myself.  And, you know what....it really wasn't all that difficult to do.  Maybe because the pancake part is kind of light and fluffy.  Or maybe it's because it's just so darn DELICIOUS!  I mean... what can possibly be less than perfect than a bowl-like baked (not fried...I must get health points for that, right?) huge pancake filled with a glaze made right-at-the-table consisting of (REAL!) butter, powdered sugar, lemon juice (squeezed right from the lemon)... and then filled with perfect, fresh strawberries?  Um...nothing.  It's FANTASTIC!!!  Okay...I'll admit that I couldn't eat anything for the rest of the day.  But, who cares.  I LOVED that "Dutch Baby"!

The "Original Pancake House" also has HUGE omelets, all kinds of pancakes and crepes and waffles.  There are even a few sandwiches and salads thrown on the menu for the non-breakfast types among us.  The bottomless cup of coffee is good, and the orange juice is fresh-squeezed.  The only hit-or-miss item is the service.  Sometimes it can be a bit slow or unfriendly.

Ok, I am so excited that this place is in walking distance from my place.  When I left San Francisco, I feel like I moved to places where going out to breakfast meant going to Mc Donalds.  I really wanted a good breakfast place that wasn't a "Diner" or "Southern"  Ok, it may have been a lot to ask since I moved to Nashville.

But this place is everything I miss about the breakfast places in San Francisco.  It's charming, delicious, or as my little one says DEEEEELLLLIOUS!  (She says that a lot, but with more umph when she is here.)  I can't wait to go back.

The staff was great, accommodating, even though it was busy, and so much fun!  I can't wait to go back.  Oh wait, did I already say that?  Ok, well I'll say it again, maybe I'll go tomorrow morning!!  Love, Love, Love!!   Thank you Original Pancake House for making my move to Buffalo more enjoyable!

Definitely need a reservation! Always busy! Pancakes are fine. Ok I am spoiled by real French crepes while living in Europe but some of the pancakes could be really better. Though I must say they are generous with portions and toppings! Dutch baby is a true pancake experience ( make sure you are really hungry before ordering!).

    Charming, lovely spot in Williamsville.

Always happy to get my swedish pancakes with lingonberries.  Had a bite of the dutch baby, ridonkulous.  Good stuff, but call the ambulance after the butter is applied.

I don't know what all the hype is about; it really is no different than your average run-of-the-mill breakfast chain, with HUGE portions. I heard the omelets were good, so I endeavored to try one: Well, the consistency was weird. It actually had a gigantic air bubble in the middle, like a balloon. When I took my fork to it, it popped and quickly deflated. Strange...

We got one of those gigantic apple pancakes to split among our whole table and it was still too big for 6 adults to finish. It was kinda sick, actually. I think this place's sell is on quantity--not quality--because I'm pretty sure this pancake could have fed an entire village in Africa. Aside from the size, there really was nothing special about this pancake: It was an over-sugared bread product housing a pile of heavily-processed, over-sugared granny smith apples. Good thing I wasn't going for blood work that day; I might have been diagnosed with diabetes on the spot.

Coffee was aight. Typical cheap, diner style joe they serve at IHOP (btw, I thought THEY were the original pancake house!). I'm giving three stars because the service was good and nothing about this place was inherently awful. Whatev.

Deeeelicious. I come here often and get one of 2 things:

The apple pancake- which is as big as my head and brought out to you all gooey and fresh out of the oven. When it's served to you- it's HUGE and puffy. It will slowly deflate but it doesn't lose any flavor when it does. But it's really quite impressive as soon as it's dropped in front of you.

    or

The blueberry waffle with whipped cream and a blueberry compote. It literally melts in your mouth. It's fluffy and vanilla-y and so freaking good.

Most things on the menu are also delicious, but I just can't help to defer to my favorites that have never failed me.

A couple of bummers- orange juice is ridiculously expensive. I mean you can literally buy a carton of orange juice (or even 2 or 3) for the price they will charge you for a tiny glass. Like 6 oz. tiny glass. The plus- it IS fresh squeezed but I'm sorry- $6-7 for a glass of OJ is just not ok. Everything is a la carte so that bacon or toast is extra. A la carte prices are for the most part reasonable but can get pricey if you are a big eater and order a lot.

Saturdays and Sundays you will wait an hour or more for a table anytime between the hours of 9-12 and especially if you have a party larger than 4. They do everything they can to speed up the process and food is always prompt. But this is not the place to hang out for a lazy brunch on the weekend unless you are outside of those prime weekend. Eat and leave so others can partake as well.

    "Where's Pancake House?"
"I don't want fricking pancakes, I wanna go somewhere where I can get a shot and a beer!"- Fargo

Don't go here for a shot and a beer.  So I've never been to a Pancake House...however, I was thoroughly impressed.  I went with a group of 8.. and they were very accommodating... and quickly...They whipped together 3 tables like it was nothing and we were seated in less than 4 minutes.  It may be a breakfast chain, but the food tastes WAY better.

There are many choices on the menu... I ended up getting a spinach/feta omelette with banana pancakes on the side.  First of all, their portions are HUGE... second of all, I'm known for ordering too much food.... but I was impressed with both.  The omelette was good... you could actually TASTE the ingredients--especially the CHEESE....  I only had room for a few bites of pancake- but it was very yummy-- OH and the waitress kept filling up our coffee's... there is nothing like eating breakfast food amp'd up on some caffeinated drink.

Good job Pancake House you earned your 4 stars.

Frequent this place while on business in Buffalo, NY as I am generally staying at the Hampton Hotel, which is pretty much next door.

The food here is great, though it is sometimes a challenge placing the order.  Each year I have to try to remember what exactly it was I ordered in the past.  This year the waitress told me that what I order is referred to as the 1 By 2, even though it's not on the menu it is exactly half of the 2 By 4.  go figure!  Anyway, she was lovely to explain, and I don't think I'll forget that in the future.

As for the pancakes - everyone in my party ordered them with their breakfast every morning.  They are definitely A-One pancakes!  Prices are somewhat steep for breakfast, and ultimately that is what brings me to assign a 4 star rating, rather than 5 stars.  That, and the fact that they give only ONE free refill for ice teas.

Ok I've been here twice now....its really not all that great.  The first time I ate here was about 2 yrs ago; I forget exactly what I ordered, maybe pancakes...I just remember them being nothing extraordinary and I was annoyed at the crappy service and the fact that the food was overpriced.  I was also annoyed at the sizes of their drinks: a small is literally the size of a thimble; a medium is the size of a kid's cup, and a large is the size of what should be an adult small glass.

Against my better judgement, I went back a second time.  I figured I'd go with an a simple ham and cheddar omelette...worst decision ever!  they put waaay too much cream and/or milk in the egg to make it fluffy, so the egg didnt even taste like egg.  I was expecting a down to earth, real deal omelette, not some fancy, fluffy souffle.  furthermore, the cheddar was dry and chewy and had a wierd texture, adding nothing good to the "omelette" at all.  I ate 1/4 of it before I couldnt stand it any longer.  Needless to say I did NOT request a take out container for that nonsense.  Thankfully I had the side of pancakes so I could at least eat something and my $13 wouldnt just be for my glass of water!

The server wasnt personable at all...she just looked like she couldnt wait for her shift to be over...but at least she checked in on us a few times.

Overall, not impressed.  Granted, I havent tried the specialty pancakes that everyone raves about, so I guess one day I'll give OPH another shot...on somebody elses tab though.

Love this place for breakfast!  If you are hungry and like good food..come here! Their prices are good, the service is friendly and efficient, and their omelets are massive!

I would suggest trying out their omelets (they are super filling and tasty!) , or some of their crepes, and if you want to go for the gusto...I dare you to order and eat an entire Dutch baby all by yourself, lol.

One thing though...be ready for a long line/wait time if you decide to come Sunday morning! Worth the wait!

The allure and the hype might not exactly match your mood when you receive your bill, but the food is excellent.  We took my mom and dad for breakfast on Father's Day and for the five of us (me, my husband and my kid too) the bill was eighty bucks.  FOR BREAKFAST.

Oh well - like I said, the food was excellent.  Everyone liked what they got, except my kid - who likes nothing, and my mom, who thought her omelet was 'strange'.  Next time to save $$, I'll tell my dad to stop ordering multiple $4.50 glasses of OJ, even if it is Father's Day.

Holy crap, the Apple Pancake is Out.Of.This.World.

I have 3/4s of it sitting in my fridge, waiting to be consumed over my next 6 breakfasts.  Actually, it would make a better dessert, it is so blindingly sweet but tempered with eggy custardy goodness.

It's old-style homey.  I recommend you order some version of a pancake, any pancake....

What what, pancake? Yes, they have them a-plenty!
Legend in my family has it that this is the Original-Original, but maybe every family thinks theirs is the one. The decor is, welll... It reminds you of a creepy auntie's living room, but it is what it is.
Worth a visit (or two, three, four) for a Dutch Baby--the most legendary of pancakes.

I miss this place since leaving Buffalo.  You cant get a breakfast like this anywhere in Cleveland (if im incorrect, prove me wrong clevelanders! :).

My brother and I used to deliver the Buffalo news and would frequently go here after delivering our route.  It was quite a memory when our party consisted of two little indian kids sitting in a restaurant full of old people around 6:45AM on Sunday AM... but good grief even at 14y/o I knew this place made a mean poached egg.

Beware, their portions are massive and often enough for two!  Also, im a fan of this location over the location on N. Falls Blvd.  Something about this place being in the heart of Williamsville makes it a lil more special.

How I miss the suburbs where the portions are gigantic and the food is hearty. I orded the dutch baby which is a oven baked pancake with sliced strawberries, lemon, powdered sugar, and strawberry syrup. The cake was baked to perfection where very bite was rich with flavor and so moist that it almost melts in your mouth.

I went here for brunch this weekend, and the food was great (particularly their apple pancake thing), but the prices were a little steep.

A side of sausage (2 patties) was a whopping $4.35.  Coffee with free refills was $2.25, but considering the service we got, refills were few and far between.  Their $3.75 milkshake was very small and watery.

Also, the waitresses serve your check with your food, which seemed a little pushy to me.

But again, the food is pretty good, so if you're looking to spend a little more and treat yourself, go for it.

Get the Dutch Baby. It is worth the wait & soooooo good.

The Crepes are also good, especially the fresh fruit ones, if available. The oj is thick & pulpy, tastes homemade. The omlettes are tasty & huge. I can't think of anything yucky on the menu & we've eaten here a lot. It's a place we take guests a lot if they're craving breakfast foods!
They serve dinner & lunch as well, but I love breakfast, so ive never tried anything from the L or D menus.

It is crazy busy on Saturday mornings... And for good reason. It's delicious!

I agree the omlets are HUGE, have a wide variety and tasty.  Plan to take some home.  Never seen such a thick and fluffy omlet.
BUT, the pancakes suck.  I expected more since ........ that is their name!  Thin and gooie.  They should use the same technique they use on the omlets!   I wish I could find the light fluffy pancake I crave.

Went with one of the omelets (+ toast) on my most recent visit to OPH. Tried a sampling of the pancakes, solid stuff. Our group had 3 kids in tow, the older 2 were entertained with the kids menu and crayons. The service was quick and my coffee never was wanting for a refill. +1 star if you bring kids, this place can handle most.

I am from Bflo and I came home for Thanksgiving with my partner. We went to the OPH because we had been there before and knew the waffles and pancakes were good. However--the prices have risen quite a bit. The service was excellent and our food came quickly.
My partner brought her coffee from Tim Horton's into the restaurant. When the server asked her if she, the server could throw it out, my partner said she wouldn't drink it in the restaurant and put on the seat next to her.
At the end of the meal, we got up to leave and put the cup on the table. A man saw it, came over and grabbed it and said "this is not nice; just not nice; this is not nice." Then he threw it out. When my partner came out of the bathroom to get her coat, he came over to her and said "that coffee was just not nice." She said that he was not being nice and that we had just dropped $30 on breakfast. She asked him who he was and he said he was the owner. My partner is not one to mince words. She said he was being unreasonable since she had not drunk it in the restaurant. He told her to get out.
Oh, well. Another one bites the dust. Don't go unless you want high prices and a loooooong wait. We watched at least one other couple leave after 1/2 an hour of no food.

Terrific, the classic breakfast place in the area.  Top quality food that you can't find anywhere else nearby.  Very clean and bright.  Terrific staff.  Good for lunch and dinner too... But famous for breakfast.  Blueberry pancakes... the best ever.  My kids go for chocolate chip pancakes.  Fresh squeezed OJ is a must.   Omelets are big enough for two, unless you are a big eater.  You can't go wrong here.
