Our mission is to reduce your exposure to toxic chemicals in the home by carrying products that are organic- ie., products made with little/no chemical exposure like pesticides or toxic dyes, taking everything from the earth and surrounding air into consideration. We work closely with like-minded independent green businesses and our range includes everything from men's, women's & baby clothing, made with organic cotton, to mattresses that employs the natural fire retardant properties of organic wool (as opposed to fire retardant chemicals in conventional mattresses).
Our products were recently featured on HGTV's Divine Design, Pure Design, Style at Home & New York Times Magazine.
History
Established in 2006
Organic Lifestyle originally started out as T.H.E Store (Total Home Environment) based out of Hazelton Lanes, co-located above Whole Foods and was one of the first to embrace and advocate people and planet friendly lifestyle by offering only non-toxic, fair trade, locally sourced products. In 2009, after our lease expired, we partnered with local businesses to continue our mission
Meet the Business Owner: Dihan C.
My story: From about age 21, I noticed that only my facial hair turned a vibrant shade of red when I let it grow out for about a week (my normal hair colour is black and zero family history of red heads:) By my late twenties, my hair line had started to recede, which at the time, I had attributed to regular use of hair gel/mousse since high school days. (The things we do to impress the ladies ... but I digress)
Whether or not, shaving cream, shampoo, skin creme and/or hair gel directly resulted in my physical transformation, I became very conscious of the many different chemicals we expose ourselves to on a daily basis.
Organic Lifestyle was born from the desire to provide safer, affordable alternatives for my family, friends and consumers such as yourself.
