Who doesn't love being pampered and massaged at a day spa? Certainly not I!
Upon entering, we were greeted and given terry cloth wraps and sandals, and directed toward to changing rooms. There's a variety of lotions and hair products available near the showers, should you need them.
We started out with a short session in the sauna, which is pretty spacious. I had a swedish massage and hand treatment. The masseuse (male) was friendly and professional, and the music was soothing. The massage was relaxing and thorough, though there was a strange brief armpit massage (it was, um, different..).
The lounge area is comfortable, with lounge chairs and beverages (tea, water) available. There's also a tank of fish. The host, seeing our intrigued glances, put his hand in the tank, and invited us to do the same (after washing our hands, of course - don't want to feed the fish lotion!). We decided to try a 20 minute fish pedicure. For the first 10 minutes we were laughing uncontrollably - it's a very weird/ticklish feeling. I can't say that I noticed a difference after the 'pedicure', but it was an enjoyable and fairy unique experience. And we bonded with fish ;) -

I received a Groupon gift from my hubby for 6 Lipolaser treatments and 3 thirty minute infrared sauna sessions. It was cool because I've never had lipolaser before and I like trying new things, especially things that arguably slim you down!
There's one lady with long blond hair who I first met at the front desk who continued to speak to me in French when I was responding in English at my first appointment, which is generally a no-no when it comes to customer service. The man, who looks like the Owner, told me at the end of my appointment that I could speak English, when I was trying to make my next appointment. I *can* speak French fine, just when I am tired I struggle with it as it is clearly not my first language.... he could see that and hear my accent, so he finally helped to put me at ease in that regard.
The waiting area is really nice. The fish bath is so tantalizing and tempting. Walls and floors are wood. The women's locker/shower area is very private. They provide you I key with a # with it. You simply find the locker with the same # as on the key. Very secure for your personal belongings. Beside the locker room there are slippers for you to wear with or without socks, it's as you wish.
The room for the lipolaser treatments could be nicer. A few of the ceiling squares need to be replaced because there is an ugly yellow / brownish stain which I see constantly because I am laying down on my back staring upward. The treatments are painless, although I haven't seen any *huge* effects... none at all almost, lol. It's fun to go regardless. I'd recommend this Spa to someone else.
I'll be experiencing the Infrared sauna for the first time on Thursday evening, haven't been there yet so I cannot comment but in general, definitely Return-Worthy!
Thanks! -

Pshaw, groupons are SO last year I hear you say!
Regardless, this poor student will do whatever it takes to get a good deal, and when I saw a Groupon for a half-price, 25 minutes fish pedicure, I was totally in!
The reviews below are right, their website is ancient, and they haven't updated since the new administration if I'm not mistaken..
So I showed up and was promptly given a towel and one of those embarassing towel-skirts. Being new to the whole Spa thing, I pretty much ran around like a headless chicken for 15 minutes ("What's THIS door?").
After I got "dressed" I was ready to step into my fish tank when, BAM, a couple who had just showed up had taken my place! I was a tad pissed given that I had a appointment and all, but the gentleman at the counter seemed really sorry, after all, they were having a couple's experience and I would have spoiled it whereas I wasn't too thrilled to be interrupting as well..
So he kindly excused himself for the inconvenience and suggested I take a 25 minutes rest in their sauna..on them! Now that's proper service (hence the forth star)! The decor of the Spa is gorgeous, all wooden. You get more of a Thai feeling in the great common room, but the sauna seemed legit Scandinavian (they even have stones, but I checked and they're for decor only, no drenching them in water please, the electric heating is underneath!). I'm not used to saunas and I was really surprised to discover that, yes, everything's hot, even the benches. Darn, now where do I sit?
They have an extra hot room, a bigger "sauna hot" one and a small, cooler one, which is a great alternative to an icy shower.
When my time was up, the employee came to alert me (how nice!) and gave me a little speech about the fish (they don't have teeth, relax) and left me to soak my feet in the little aquarium.
And..oh dear...oh my god...it...IT TICKLESS!! When he came back a couple of minutes later asking me how I was doing, I swear it took all my might not to burst out laughing in his face!! Ticklish beware!!
You do get used to it but don't stare, it really is weird watching fish eating your skin while you're feeling exactly what's going on..
My experience was really positive overall. I checked a summary of all their services while leaving and noticed they have some fancy stuff: massage under the rain, anyone? But, lo and behold, they have "vinthu" session. You mean flogging yourself with a branch of vinthu wood in the sauna, just like they do in Finland at Midsummer?, No perkele!!! That's one more step towards Scandinavia I hope to take if I get the chance to go back!!!
PS: They're UKRAINIANS, don't mix your soviets up!Listed in: Seeking Scandinavia

A friend and I got a 60-min relaxation massage from there today.
The owner and massage therapists often talk in Russian.
But they all speak fluent French and ok English.
We had a positive experience.
They assigned a therapist with a same gender, so I didn't have the same issue.
Our therapists didn't say much, only the necessary minimum. Mine only responded to my comments.
It was relaxing, so we both fell asleep partly.
It included head, feet, and hands. It all felt very nice.
We bought a package including a sauna. However we got bad sun burn, so GM let us return for a free sauna in future. (He gave a card for it.) :-)
I like deep massages, so I might try their deep massage in future. -

I'm not the type to go for spa treatments, I tend to leave that to my wife. However I found a deal with Red Flag Deals and was stressed at the time and decided to pick up the offer as its close to my office.
Trying to book an appointment was next to impossible. They would never answer the phone. Their web site is outdated as the hours of operation are not at all up to date. I decided to go and pay them a visit to book my appointment.
Once there, I would have to say everything was fine. The therapist was great as I asked her to focus on my shoulders. She was able to release the tension in my back and shoulder. I was happy with that.
Got an insurance form too boot. -

I'm used to day spas and massage therapy, but this was one experience I'd rather not live again.
I wanted to try a hot stone massage and ear candling, and I added a facial to my package as well. They started with the facial and ear treatment and the lady would not stop talking for the whole 1 1/2 hour. I mean she would not shut up for the live of her. I would not answer and she kept going! Talk about not relaxing...
I finally moved to my massage, thinking that finally I made it through the worst. But there comes this man who decided I would not get a hot stone massage but rather a very luscious-type of rubbing with very wandering hands. I was so freaked out I couldn't move.
I ended up paying load of $$ for a very stressful events. I complained to the GM. I received a letter from the owner saying the therapist had been fired since it wasn't his first offence (nice...) and he kindly offered me a gift certificate to come and spend the day "lounging at the spa". I thought that was just adding insult to injury.
They'll never see me there again.
