Review from Dani C.
I came here for lunch on the way to Crystal Mall and I ordered honey lemon tea with coconut jelly instead of pearls and the terimayo crepe.
The honey lemon tea: Not too sour, not too sweet, just perfect. The coconut jelly was good, but I think there might have been too much ice.
The crepe: The terimayo crepe contained chicken, cheese, bonito flakes, an ingredient I can't remember, and some kind of sauce on top that tastes a bit like wasabi. The crepe wasn't too thick or too thin and there were plenty of filling in it, but it wasn't as warm as it should've been.
Service was ok, nothing to write much about.
The place itself: Clean and there are actually sofas around, so if the place isn't busy, try to get one!
I paid about $13 including tax so it wasn't too bad (and free wifi!). I think next time though, I'll try their appetizers!Listed in: Food!

I have always wanted to try this place out, after living here for 10 years, I fell in love with crepes, but I am sad to say I was quite disappointed.
I ordered a strawberry bubble tea and strawberry crepe (i like strawberry :3) and my bf had the lychee green tea. The bubble tea flavor was good, sweet and fruity but its after taste really left a mark...It was rather powdery as other reviewers have mentioned. The crepe was nothing more than a thin pancake topped with sliced strawberries and whipped cream. Even I can do better than that. =.=
Now moving on to the lychee green tea, it was virtually the only plus side to my experience. At first sip you taste sweet and savory lychee then it fades into a nice green tea, quite the blend!
Altogether, it wasn't too pricey, crepes and bubble tea don't come cheap. But it was well not worth the money. -

A great place to have lunch and study at the same time. I like this place as it is not loud and at the same time it has good Boba ( I am using the proper term now), and great food. I will come here over Crystal Mall anytime!
The people who work here seem to only speak Mandarin, and they keep the place clean and are attentive with their customers.
Their combo lunches are one of my favourites as they are decently priced for the amount you are getting. The food the great and they have crepes here as well!! I had to try a crepe here so I ordered one and it was made perfectly. Just FYI these are Japanese styled crepes so they are on the crunchy and thick, unlike the French ones.
Their combos are amazingly well made for a cheap price too, so I wouldn't mind spending a lunch here with my friends. Quiet and perfect place to study and just hang out.
Also, free wifi. The best place to study with good decent Chinese food. They don't bug you as long you get a drink every 2 hours, or a meal. :3 -

I stopped in for a late lunch with a friend today and was pleasantly surprised with how delicious everything was. I had the spicy wanton appetizer and the brazed beef on rice. The beef was very tender, the sauce was an amazing beef broth reduction. I could tell that the broth was made from scratch from beef bones which had flavored the veg. very nicely!
To drink I had the rose hip back tea with pearls... the flavor was good but I've had more aromatic and fuller flavored rose bubble tea. I think it would have been more tasty if it had actual rose hips or petals in the tea.
SUGGESTIONS:
I liked the idea of there being separate areas for those just having tea and an area for those sitting down to eat. Though I found the seating plan kind of chopped up. The seating plan was divided into too many areas. There were 2-3 areas with club chair/coffee table and the rest table/chairs for eating.
I would keep the club chair/coffee tables in the round raised platform area I would also take down or lower the wall to seat height and then make the rest table/chairs for eating
Also I would for those sitting down to eat, bring the bill to the table rather than make patrons go up to the counter to pay. If you have servers come to the table to take orders then you should also have those servers bring the bill to the table to complete the service.
Overall the food was yummy, just a few changes need to be made to the seating plan and to certain areas of service.
This place is a hidden gem! I think it should be more busy!! I would definitely come back for lunch! -

Hmm.. I was weary to try this place at first, as it is rated 2.5 star. And the reviews for both the food and the bubble tea was not up to par. I went with a friend, who has been multiple times before.. and said I should give it a chance. I'm all up for giving food a chance :D
They had a new appetizer menu. Prices were reasonable and it was $1 off the 2nd item. Thus.. we ordered in even pairs (4 appies between 3 girls). Each appie came with mmmms, ahhhhs, soo good! And so different :D We had the basic chicken karage, and a few different items such as fish cake mochi, sweet potato balls, and the pumpkin croquette. All super delicous. Well I admit the pumpkin croquette is more delicous at Hapa. But the others are delicous. My friend ate the sweet potato balls super fast, as she admitted she wanted to eat more of them than us! LOL! (photos all posted)
Drinks were strong in flavor, even after being asked to lessen the sweetness :) So that was a strong plus for them.
Price is great for a bubble tea cafe place. Quiet and free wifi! Apparently its the "IT" place to come and study.
So yes. I gave it a try, and my expecations were nicely met and exceeded. So please give orange corner a try too. You might be pleasantly surprised as well :D -

Stopped in here for bubble tea the other night and found it rather pricey for any of the slush or ice cream bubble teas compared to Bubble World which is pretty close by.
I got a mint chocolate bubble tea and found it to have a bit of a powdery texture, other then that the flavor was good.
I will definitely keep this in mind for their crepes when I get a late night sweets craving ans their prices look alright! -

The nutella and coconut crepe was good. I have to say I was really impressed with the staff - they accommodated our large group by holding 3 tables along the side for us.
It is a weird space though - I found it hard to know whether or not it was a casual serve yourself place or if we were supposed to wait to be seated. A nice alternative to Starbucks. -

After a mini shopping trip at Metrotown, I decided to have some bubble tea. And there it was, Orange Corner.
As I took my first sip of my Jasmine Green Milk Tea with Coconut Jellies,...um...it was not so good! For some reason, the coconut jellies did not taste fresh and tasted like bananas. Weird.
The weirdest part - before pouring the drink into the cup, the person making the drink pours a bit into the small shaker lid and tastes it. And as I expected, he just rinses off his germs from the lid with water - no soap - and puts it away for use for another customer!
Drink deserves 2 stars. -

Vancouver is a heaven for bubble tea lovers, thus finding a good or even great bubble tea is not a hard thing to do. One of the best one I've tried so far is from Orange Corner at Station Square, Metrotown.
Been here so many times especially when I used to live in Burnaby, and this place has always created big smile on my face. I love that they serve a huge variety of drinks (just like other bubble tea place), hot meals, and crepe (both salty and sweet ones). Plus, they have free wi-fi.
Below is the summary of my experience from this place.
Fave drinks: Lemon ayu jelly (hot and/or cold), though they also have fresh fruit smoothies (mango and strawbery is my fave).
Fave appetizer: Beef roll pancake. However, if you are into ovals (internal organs), try the pig intestine and chicken gizzards.
Fave foods: This is difficult, but if I have a gun pointed at my forehead, I'd say they have the best beef and tripe hotpot and spicy dry noodle (ask the waiter to add ground meat and egg).
Fave crepe: Ham+egg+cheese for the savory, mango+condensed milk for the sweet ones. Okay, I also have to say that I love their terimayo crepe.
I also notice that they sometimes do taste the drinks they made, but I personally think it's not a big deal as they use a separate spoon to do so.
Hm, maybe I should go and treat myself for not spending too much on boxing day with a huge glass of honey dew milk tea with pearl, and beef roll. -

I've lived in the area for over 12 years and have seen this little spot change owners countless times. So I make an effort to visit every so often when there has been new management hoping the next will jolt it out of mediocrity. My hopes were not high, just a decent place to grab a bite, a coffee once in awhile. I'll cut to the chase: worst crepe I've ever ever ever had, coupled with painfully slow service. The confusing decor didn't win any points so I am sorry to not recommend this current establishment. Their possible saving grace, I'm not sure if they actually brew 49th Parallel because it was printed on the creamer (of milk) but my Americano was not particularly inspiring, and would rather bet on the consistency over at Blenz around the corner.
It wasn't busy when we arrived, and the server asked us to take a seat but took her time simply standing there and not looking in our direction for at least 15 mins before I got up to ask if we could order. It wasn't as though she was running around busy preparing food or serving customers, she was simply looking down bored at the counter which was so baffling. I had a ham and cheese crepe, something relatively safe. (I'm horrified the other Yelper recommended this and urge her to immediately have a crepe or two at some different creperies!) I'm positive the calorie count exceeded any McD's combo. Cheese was some really processed orange stuff (as my cheese friends and I would say, that is NOT cheese); that was gummy and greasy. Something tasteless and pink, I assume was the ham. The worst part was it was all slathered in mayo!! I'm not a picky crepe eater, so long as it isn't disgusting. My friend ordered a nutella and banana crepe that at least didn't have surprise ingredients and wasn't substituted by some sub-par-faux banana/sauce. He commented that is was also too heavy, and just not very good also though.
I'd like for these little cafes to succeed because there's a definite lack of good little cafes for those of us who live and work in the area, but I absolutely can not recommend this place as it right now. As for the bubble tea, I didn't try it, and don't think I will be. I would rather visit the many established and fresh vendors across the street at Crystal Mall.
A pro? Free wifi. I do love me some free wifi :)
