Review from Emeline V.
Montréal, QC
As far as I know, this is the only clinic in Montreal that offers vision therapy to adults and it is for this specific service that I went.
I should say that having required glasses since age 3, I am more than familiar with eye exams and the whole shebang..
I had an appointment with Dr Mazur and this is where everything goes downhill.
I found her to be extremely abrupt. She didn't seem to give much importance to what I had to say or my expectations regarding the process. The exam went by very quickly and felt rather rushed. My main issue was her manners: she measures, she jots something down turning her back to me. When she was done she went back to her desk but didn't invite me to get out of the exam chair or anything..
I was also quite surprised not to be able to ask any question: either she would keep talking over me or recite some medical theory which, after nearly 2 decades of poor vision, I know just as well..
For someone who deals with people with vision disabilities, I found she was quite cold. For example, my vision, according to her, isn't low, it's "bad", and "this eye is pretty much useless".
I guess this review is pretty much a sum of bad service and my wounded pride. Still, when over 18, health care doesn't cover optometrists and if I have to pay between $70 and $150 out of my own pocket, I don't expect to pay for neither bad service nor wounded pride.
