Since I had my first one I can't resisit buying them for my family and friends...I'll be back for more..and guess what they are going to be giving them away at "Sidney Meet Up" on March 15th...See you there and bring your appetite

Wow is right! I'm a huge cupcake fan (I mean how can you not be? they're adorable and tasty!) and had to try them when I heard about them.
The shop itself is in a small awkward plaza on hillside with a great little vibe. Since I hadn't tried their goods, I chose based on looks which ended up being the cookie monster cupcake. While the price was a little steep, I completely forgot about it the minute I tasted the icing. O ....M....G theres just something they do to that icing that makes it super fluffy, light and yet full of flavour. I've been to a popular cupcake place in Calgary and thought that their cupcakes were wonderful but this place blew them out of the water! Moist and tender cupcake with the added bonus of a cookie baked right into it. A great surprise if you ask me! Normally I find cupcakes too sweet but they had a perfect balance and it took very little time for me to finish it off (might have licked the paper cup clean....).
I did end up picking up half a dozen for some close friends of mine as a thank you for work done on my computer. They loved them as well!
All in all, I'd go back and shell out $3.00 for this delectable treat any day. -

Wow.
I've gone past here a zillion times - I only live six or seven blocks away. Every time I think "I should really try..." but the timing is off, or I'm in a rush, or whatever whatever. Also, my gentleman friend and I are both trying to make the scale numbers get smaller instead of bigger, so if we're going for a treat, it had better be damn good. And in splitting our time between Victoria where I live and Seattle where he lives (yes, wacky, I know), we have our cupcake choices of Pink Sugar (the amazing vegan cupcakery in Victoria), and in Seattle - good lord, Yellow Leaf, Cupcake Royale and Trophy - to START. So perhaps we didn't really feel the need for more cupcake competition. Or maybe we feared it couldn't possibly live up to the current insane cupcake trendy-hype.
Buuuuutttt on Saturday, we went. And it did.
My GOD, those were good cupcakes.
The place itself (to get everything non-cupcake out of the way) is small, neat, decorated in a bright, funky, pleasant way. The locale kind of sucks - parking is at a premium (there's a tiny private lot - 4 spots I think) and it's a weird little strip mall. I hope they do well and move somewhere better. The service was fine; the clerk had friends in the store and was clearly waiting for us to make up our minds so she could go hang out outside with them, which was a little uncomfortable, but whatever. She was friendly enough.
The cupcakes were fantastic. At $3.00 a piece plus tax they seemed a little steep, but 1) they're big; and 2) they're GOOD. I had chocolate cake with peanut butter icing and a little piece of peanut butter cup on top. My boyfriend had chocolate cake with mocha icing and an espresso bean on top. We both found the cake very moist, and dark and flavourful, not at all dry (cupcake kiss of death), and not overly sweet. The icing was a rich buttercream with just enough flavour - subtle, but without being so subtle you can hardly taste it (i'm lookin at YOU, cupcake royale). Lots of icing, too. We both scraped the crumbs off our wrappers when nobody was looking.
I think this may be the best of the lot. Some of the other flavours sounded/looked SO good - I guess I'll have to come back to try more, and maybe give their coffee a go.
