OK Traffic Ticket! 10km/h over no big deal haaa! yeah right.
Had the joy of visiting this fine provincial cash because like 99.9% of people around me I was holding a traffic ticket. Makes me wonder why they call this place "Provincial Offences Office.
The wait was a good 1.5 hours with parking being $3.50/h.
This place does deserve a STAR for having a good amount of parking.
I have to take OFF 4 STARS for the long wait only 4 Windows and yes only two were open. -

Another source of government funding is issuing traffic tickets...and this is the place where you appeal them!
We received a speeding ticket and ticket related to not showing proper documentation proving that we owned the car.
COUNTER #1
So we went to the Ontario Court of Justice, walked up a flight of stairs and waited in line for about a 1/2 hr to speak to the information booth (Counter #1). She gave me a number and then told me I had 2 options.
Option 1: Talk to a prosecutor to decrease the charge of the ticket
Option 2: Go directly to court
COUNTER #2
I chose option 1. I waited again for 30-45 minutes until my number was called. During this time I tried to figure out the options I had re: meeting with the prosecutor.
Option 1: Meet with prosecutor today (AM only). (it was already 11:45)
Option 2: Meet with prosecutor during weekdays (PM only)
Option 3: Meet with prosecutor on Saturday.
Well I wanted to check all 3 b/c I was available for all those times but it said "Only 1 box may be checked". Stupid.
So I didn't check any and tried to talk to the lady at the Counter #2. After her many interruptions, I was finally able to ask "can I see the prosecutor today?" and so she said walk around the corner to Counter #3 and i will bring your paperwork. Wait until they call you name.
COUNTER #3
I waited another hour and a half. During that time, I saw MANY ppl (who came after me) enter to see the Justice of Peace. I tried twice to speak to Counter #3 and AGAIN they kept interrupting me and telling me to sit down. I asked them to see if my name was really on their listing (b/c as you know, papers can get mixed up) but they REFUSED to look and said if you talked to Counter #2, you're name is here.
PROSECUTOR
Really great actually. I found out where her office was and apologized for disturbing her. She kindly said to be stern with Counter #3 to confirm that my paper work was with them. I did as she advised and found out there were still many ppl in front of me...weird. After a long wait, I met officially with the prosecutor and she explained my options and let me decide what I wanted to do.
We then went in to see the judge to plead guilty to the revised charges.
SECURITY
The security guards were actually police officers. They tried their best to answer my questions just from experience and they even cracked jokes by interviewing me about my experience at the office.
HORRIBLE SERVICE
I understand that the workers at the counter want to get through as many ppl as possible but I feel like they would have mitigated many future questions if they just answered my questions and listened to my concerns. If they would have told me that yes I am 5th on the list and that the prosecutor wouldn't be in for another hour, then I wouldn't have asked so many questions and used their time.
CONFLICTING MESSAGES
They had these signs on the wall that said "Prosecutor's last meeting will be at 11:45". So I was like huh?... why would they tell me to line up if I won't even be able to meet with the prosecutor?
Counter #3 said.."oh she will be here until 1". So again at 2pm I was like... i'm still here lining up...did they forget about me?
Counter #3 then said..."ignore the sign."
The Information booth Counter #1 said "the prosecutor wouldn't be at the office until 1"
And security said "the Prosecutor is here from 9-4...but don't quote me"
After this... I believe I will try to never get a ticket again... This was probably their plan to make your experience as annoying as possible so you would either pay the fine or not get a ticket. But I feel like this reflects badly on the City of Toronto. Ok The End.Listed in: Government Services

DO NOT come at noon...everyone takes lunch and goes here at this time. Boredom tip: outside the door on the second floor, there is a ledge with a window so you can watch the most dangerous drivers in the city try to parallel park.
