If your on a stroll on the waterfront you HAVE to check this gallery out! The store is loaded with unique works of art mostly all made from local wood. 90% of their selection is local. Impressive.
Jason the owner is a master with anything wood, from a beautiful wine rack to a custom made bed, he will do it all. I don't know of any other place that will make furniture to suit your needs and lifestyle. Though you'll pay for it, the stuff's not cheap. However you can look at it as an investment, their furniture is build to last and will stay in the family for generations.
I was totally wowed by this place and the service. 5 stars! -

This unique shop is tough to describe - on the one hand it pretty much tells its own story just by its name alone, on the other, the name doesn't touch the many gorgeous items to be found within its walls. With woods cured naturally that have been harvested from memorable hurricanes that have hit the region, each piece is unique and ripe with character whether it's a candle holder, a cribbage board or the wine rack of my dreams.
Now I'll be the first to tell you that custom wood furniture is far out of my own price range but with plenty of affordable gift ideas, this shop could be the perfect answer for "What the heck do I get my Dad for Christmas?"
Or at least it will be for me. Unless he reads this in which case I'm most definitely NOT getting him something from here this year.

Established in 2003
One Stop Wood Shop was established in 2003. We have grown over the years as a custom wood furniture business focussing on sustainability and environmental harmony. In 2010, One Stop Wood Shop opened a retail space in The Piazza at Bishop's Landing showcasing our own furniture and also housing The Coal Wynd Gallery in store.
Meet the Business Owner: Jason C.
I began my career in a local woodworking business sweeping the floors. Learning anything I could for three years I then moved to Vancouver where I worked on high end homes, studied West Coast art and continued to learn my trade from a variety of experienced woodworkers in the area.
From this experience I was inspired to return home to Halifax and begin my journey of setting up my own woodworking company. With much still to learn before I could accomplish this goal I did some extensive traveling, working for local woodworkers, repairing local furniture and experiencing the local customs and traditions of places such as the Bahamas and Turk's and Caicos.
In 2003 I began my own wood working company, One Stop Wood Shop, expanding on my early training to offer high quality custom wood furniture incorporating multi cultural styles and with sustainability and environmental harmony in mind.
In 2010 I opened One Stop Wood Shop/Coal Wynd Gallery in The Piazza at Bishop's Landing.
