On The Rocks Oshawa is one of my favorite places to be in this city. It's a very versatile, yet always classy venue for dining, dancing, and lounging. I had a fancy sit-down meal with my girlfriend here for Valentine's day last year. We both had steak dinners over some wine with ice cream for dessert, and it was all delicious! Our waitress was one of the most friendly and attentive servers we've ever had for a meal. Combined with the modern, chic look inside, we had a very romantic night and will be coming back for more special occasions.
In the night time, it has become one of Oshawa's more active dance clubs that was bringing large crowds and line-ups within the first month of opening, largely thanks to the venue's reputation at the Whitby location. I've come on a few Friday nights and haven't been disappointed yet. Plenty of people come dressed to impress. It's definitely a much nicer alternative to a lot of the sketchier, traditional venues in Oshawa.
In short, I highly recommend On The Rocks Oshawa for those looking for a good meal or a night on the town with a little more style than the city is used to. -

I have been to this particular On the Rocks twice now and have been severely disappointed. The second visit was just to give it another chance and sadly now i will not return.
Both times I have been there service was slow. This was not the waitress' fault however. The place was not overly busy but there were more then enough for 2 waitresses and she was alone. I didn't not go in at an odd time either. Both times it was between 5 and 6 on a weekday for dinner. Both times i had the same issue.
Next issue i had with the place was the food. Both times it took forever to make it to the table. After it made it there it only got worst. I won't say it was the worst food... but I definitely did not feel i was getting my moneys worth out of it.
Now, I do have a few good things to say about this place. My waitress was the same both times and when she was able to make it over the table she was very friendly and helpful. Her performance was really the only reason I gave the place the second chance.
Secondly, the layout of the place is fantastic. It definitely has all the potential to be a great place.
