This was a pleasant surprise. Yelpers, you didn't let me down this time!

    GREAT Greek food.

    I ate:
    Lamb Souvlaki

    My husband ate:
    Meatlovers pizza
    Baked Spaghetti

The souvlaki was divine. The salad and rice complimented each other nicely and the Greek potatoes were soft and zesty.

Of course I sampled my husbands and it was perfect comfort food. The meat sauce on the spaghetti had a secret ingredient in it (nutmeg) which added another level to the savoury flavours.

We both had a glass of sangria. It came in a pint glass full of pineapple and lemons. Fantastic!

We were both really happy with how good everything was and will definitely be back. Hands down, best Greek food I've had in Vancouver.

Oh and the service was polite and prompt. We were in and out in just over an hour. Exactly how we like it.

    Two thumbs up all around!

Another classic here, it's been here since high school days.  And been awhile too, since my last time, and again this time just for drinks.

Always enjoyed the solarium seating for the natural light & eye candy.

Parking's always a challenge here, so try for the side streets.

I really wanted to like this place but the food and service amounted to a "just ok" rating from me.

My wife wanted pizza but she doesn't like thin crust so I turned to yelp to find a good place to try.

    Pizza:
I was disappointed with the selection/variety of the pizzas because they had essentially 4 different meats and then listed (frustratingly so) in every kind of combination with every possible topping. We found ourselves looking at the menu for a solid 5 minutes just trying to figure out how the list was organized. Surprisingly, no chicken. I admit that I don't know if there's a code when it comes to Greek pizza toppings but I'm sure they have chickens in Greece, so we were perplexed that while shrimp made the cut on one of their specialty pizzas, chicken didn't. The Greek style crust it was pretty good. Our pie came out piping hot, I even burnt my lip a bit from the steaming hot tomato sauce. There was a lot of cheese given the crust and tended to overpower the toppings. A good thing if you're a cheese lover, I suppose!

    Sangria:
We also decided to try their Sangria by the glass and we were really disappointed. No fruit other than a wedge of lime *and* lemon which made it really sour, no pineapples for us. The wine was so diluted with spritzer and juice that it looked like pink lemonade juice. I'm not sure what the $6 they charged went towards; the juice? the lime & lemons? Maybe we're spoiled by La Bodega's awesome Sangria. Heck, even Anton's had better Sangria than this place.

    Service:
The service staff seemed really disorganized. When we arrived, we had one person ask us how many for our table, only to see that person usurped by another who then asked the exact same question. Our server came and asked us if we wanted to order drinks but then 5 minutes later another staff person ( the same who usurped and seated us) came by and asked us if we wanted order drinks. After we ordered and waited a solid 25 minutes for our pizza in a restaurant that was only half full, a third staff member brought us an order meant for another table that had been seated after us. We were never given any explanation that there had been a mixup, only that our order would be coming soon and we ended up waiting an additional 10 minutes for our order.

As far as the pizza goes, I've had better. I'll definitely go back one day to try their Greek food fare since that seems to be the most talked about. But for now, I'm standing by my rating of only 3 Stars.

    Website confusion:
It's worth noting that a google search of "olympia pizza" brings up results for 3 different restaurants (olympiapizza.COM for the Denman restaurant / olympiapizza.NET for the Broadway restaurant / and olympiapizza.CA for the Surrey restaurant). From the looks of it, they're not the same owners.

I ordered a medium veggie pizza. My favorite kind of pizza is greek style pizza. I was so disappointed to the point where I didn't eat more than a few bites. It felt like a cheese pizza they threw a couple of vegetables on at the last minute.

So bad. I wanted my money back but did not want to go through the hassel. I will not order from pizza there again.

It seems that we have a lot of neighbours who grew up in this neighbourhood and never left. When we speak to them about food they always speak very highly about Olympia Pizza which has been a fixture in this part of town since the 60's. We decided that it was high time we pay them a visit.

Unlike a lot of restaurants from their era, it appears that they have made an effort to have the decor at least match the present millenium. We were seated immediately at the last available table which was nice for a Friday at 7:30 but the service wasn't quite as swift for the rest of the evening. It is also really loud in there but that was not unexpected.

As soon as I saw the nice selection of greek food on the menu I decided quickly on the souvlaki dinner. My husband opted for a 3 topping pizza.  My dinner, which had the souvlaki on a bed of rice pilaf and greek salad, tzatziki and a pita was a lot of food and a whole lot of delicious!

I was able to cajole a slice of pie from my better half and was not quite as enamored. Given my never-ceasing obsessive love of cheese I can't even believe that my brain can formulate this thought but I really think the pizza had too much cheese on it. The overabundance of cheese threw off the balance of sauce and toppings and put a lot of strain on that really good crust. This is not however a mortal sin and we will definately be back to give it another try.

Individually made in pudding bowls, this is fresh Greek dessert happiness. Topped with almonds and a dusting of cinnamon, there's nothing better.

Lamb souvlaki was solid as usual.

Life-altering vegetarian moussaka.  Seriously.  I've never had better.
My friend loves the lamb souvlaki (and practically lost himself at first taste-- it was creepy while complimentary of the chef's ability). Perfect lemon potatoes.  Best place ever.

Well it has been a few years since I've been to this place. An the pizza and souvlakia hasn't seem to change. Like most of my review on here I have the habbit of doing my may have dishes and I do my weigh in based on these dishes. What's the point of reviewing food if you don't have a bench mark. For me the best greek bench make has been these three dishes

    calamari, tzatzik/homous and chicken souvlaki.

On their own many can say that the ate so easy to do but it's surprising how many good attempts fail. For the Olympia I ordered the following

Calamari, Chicken souvlakia and an iced tea.  My partner had the feticini with meat sauce (I was kind of laughing on this one but I sill love him;) )

The calamari was perfectly cooked and the taziki was rich with no hunt of mayo (a review that I should have written about a Greek place cutting corners). It was perfectly seasoned and at the table within 5 minutes, not giving it the opportunity to become squid rubber.

My main course was a little slow but well worth the wait. As many have been exposed to bad souvlakia in this city I mine was perfectly done and moist and juicy. As for the pasta... Lets say just eat Greek food at this Greek restaurant.

Overall the price and the general atmosphere was great and I would say worth the trek out to w.broadway

I've been going here with friends for the last 8 years.  Always a solid choice.  Good food, decent atmosphere, good prices.  I always order the keftedes, which is great.  Good tatziki, great hummous and good service, so really what else do you need.

People always rave about Stepho's. I lived in the westend for 5 years and only went their twice, who the hell wants to wait in the rain for Greek food?  The only good thing about Stepho's is the portion sizes (if you want carb up on rice), however I will admit their tatziki rocks.  But in my mind, Olympia is a much better choice.

This is my favourite Greek restaurant in the city.  The restaurant is very small and can get quite loud when it's crowded.  The food is excellent, and the service is above-average.  Coupled with the fun of being able to watch drunks across the street at The Shack, it's a lot of fun to both eat in or take out.

My standard order here is kalamari, which is always tender and seasoned well.  The side portions are generous, and the potatoes are particular are tasty.  My boyfriend normally orders the roast lamb, which is juicy, tender, and flavourful, but has also tried the lasagna and lamb souvlaki with raging success.  They also have a nice selection of wines, spirits/cocktails, and domestic and imported beers.

Our absolute favourite menu item is the taramosalata, which is impossibly light yet flavourful, and comes in a generous portion.

Sometimes we feel a bit old because the normal clientèle are people over the age of 40, but it's worth it.  Oh, and they deliver.

Olympia is one of those few places I can say I've never had a bad meal. Be it takeout or eat-in, I have never had an experience that was anything less than superb at this restaurant and because of that fact, my family and I have been going here for years.

Everything on the menu is excellent and I have to say the Souvlaki is the best I have ever had. The lamb is excellent but the star is the chicken which is perfectly marinated and seasoned. It is juicy throughout and perfectly cooked every time. I have never had burnt chicken here...Not once. The sides are also perfect as the baked potato is flavorful and well seasoned. The rice is an excellent side and they give you enough to satiate your tastes without over stuffing you with unnecessary baggage. The salad is exquisite as it is crisp to the bite, fresh, and well seasoned with feta and an olive oil based dressing.

The pizza and pasta are also really good as it should be considering 'pizza' is in the restaurant's name. The pizza has a nice crust which is appropriately thick and has a nice crunch to it. The cheese, sauce, and toppings are always top notch and their pizza has become one of my favourites in Vancouver. The pasta is also extraordinary as you get a huge amount which can last you two meals (or one if you're a big eater like me). If you asked for it baked you really get your moneys worth because they load it with cheese which is awesome.

Overall Olympia is a great restaurant. Delivery is quick and the service in the restaurant is awesome. They make a real effort to remember you so you get this familiar vibe every time you go back. If you go here, I guarantee you will be hooked and if you claim to love Greek food, Olympia Pizza is something you can't skip.

To echo what a lot of other people here have said, Olympia is my favourite Greek restaurant in Vancouver. Their souvlaki is the best I have had, and most importantly, it's consistent! I have been going here for at least 9 years and their souvlaki is always tender, flavourful, and satisfying.

Their chicken is hands down the best I've ever had. To be quite frank, I hate chicken. Out of all the meats, I find it hands down the worst. Specifically, in most "Western cuisine," unless it's deep-fried, I find chicken rather bland, dry, and poorly textured. Olympia's chicken souvlaki is none of these things. Through some work of magic they have created a poultry dish that I actually CRAVE.

Their other dishes are also very good. I love their pizza, their baked pasta dishes are tasty, filling, and reasonably priced, and their spanakopita is perfectly crispy around the edges.

To top it off their service is always great and it's always pretty fast to get takeout if you don't want to sit in the restuarant. I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes, and it's usually 10.

For an affordable, cozy, and dependable greek meal, Olympia is the absolute best.

Brand new to the neighbourhood and desperate for good pizza, we gave this place a shot since the Yelp reviews were so good. it's definitely worth is 4.5 star rating; not absolutely epic, but damned good pizza. Thick cheese, tasty sauce, lots of toppings and a well-balanced spongy-crunchy crust. I've long been a HUGE fan of "Viva Sue" pizza in Burnaby, and this one gives that a run for its money.

Also, have to mention that a 40 minute estimate turned into a 25 minute delivery... Speedy!

    Definitely recommended!
