Although there aren't a plethora of vegetarian options here, I am going to give Anna and her husband Michael 5 stars for using local ingredients, labeling the food in the 'general store' that comes from within 100 miles and the ambiance. This bakery and cafe sits in a country farm house building next to Ravine winery. They are new to wine making, but so far are doing a good job at making tasty wines and not charging tasting fees. As time goes on, I hope to see more of them. Back to the bakery, there is a selection of breads, relishes and oils to take home. Otherwise there is table service and Anna Olson is right there greeting guests and delivering fresh water to thirsty bikers. Good food in smallish (but filling) portions. This is THE place to stop for lunch in NOTL. Don't miss it! Head there soon, too. At $10 for lunch the prics will inevitably be going up soon. Save room for dessert. Anna has a whole cook book called Sugar and you have to taste her creations.

We came here because of the very high recommendations of the owners of Cattail Creek Winery.
Glad we did - we grabbed some fine foods to munch on while on a long drive to down-state New York.
A couple of misses (tempura green beans weren't my fave) but the far majority were of excellent quality (sandwiches, local salami, market fresh tomato salad, bread, etc).
The only downside was that, although the staff seemed disproportionately large for the size of the place, everyone seemed very harried.
However, it was a Saturday during the summer season, and I'm guessing most of their staff is seasonal.
Based on the food, if we have a chance to go again next Saturday on our way back home to California, I would guess that they will earn their 5th star from me.
