+ Attractive decor, great tasting food, Manager checks in
- Noisy environment, newly hired servers making order mistakes
This location opened last week (Sept 19) for dinner hours, and this week they opened for both lunch and dinner. I arrived at 2:00pm on Wednesday for lunch and there was still a small line up to get in. They do provide you with one of those vibrating flashy pagers when your table is ready, and it will work while waiting outside. After waiting for 15 minutes our pager went off and we were escorted to our booth. I should note that while waiting a person even presented us with a menu to go over while we were waiting--I appreciated that. There didn't seem much room for waiting only a few benches inside and out--although I did not peek around the bar side.
The decor of the restaurant is very neutral and pleasing to the eye. Shades of beige with many booths and multiple rooms. I noticed a fireplace in the middle of our room, a nice touch. The place was very busy and the Manager was consistently walking around to tables asking how everything was going. Because the staff is new (and obviously inexperienced) the Manager was doing a lot of apologizing and adjusting of bills. I should point out that the restaurant was very noisy from the way it is set up, so keep that in mind. This is not a place where you go to have a nice quiet lunch/dinner--unless you go when it's not so busy.
Our server was very friendly, but looked a little overwhelmed because of how busy they were. We both ordered the Chicken Parmigiana with soup. There was a choice of about 3-4 soups. I noticed the prices on the menu were very reasonable. Our dish was only $10.75, we later found out it was the "lunch" price and the dinner price was $14.50--still very reasonable when you factor in your choice of soup or salad and bread sticks. The draft beer is pricey, $4.75 for a regular and $5.75 for a large. Their house draft has a nice citrus flavor.
Our waitress first came to the table with a bowl of salad. I was surprised, telling her we ordered the soup and not the salad. She apologized and advised the salad is ours if we want it. It tasted very fresh with tomatoes, olives, red onion, and crisp iceberg lettuce. We also were given bread sticks that were warm with a nice hint of garlic.
Our soups came shortly thereafter and they tasted hot and delicious.
Our dinner entrees came on hot plates and we were impressed how much chicken they actually came with--two large pieces. The serving of spaghetti was small. The food was cooked perfectly. The breading on the chicken was light and topped with fresh chunky tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. The spaghetti was cooked al dente, just the way I like it. After eating a bread stick, the salad, and a bowl a soup, we could barely eat our entrees. Our server happily asked if we wanted to box up our entrees and came and boxed it up in front of us. She put them in nicely sealed plastic to-go containers, along with placing them in a paper bag--a nice touch.
The Manager stopped by and asked us how we were doing, we told her great! and she hurriedly tended to another table (and then others) that had issues. I can't speak for them but our meals were really good.
When our bill came, the entrees were priced incorrectly (higher) than the price on the menu. Our server seemed confused and after 10 minutes came back with a properly adjusted bill with the explanation that she punched in the "dinner" price instead of the "lunch" price. Apparently the servers are still learning the "lunch" buttons on their computer menu system. An honest mistake.
Upon leaving we were thanked for coming in by several staff members. I liked their friendliness. We will be back! -

Lancaster, NY
Been to many other locations from New York to Michigan. This brand new restaurant needs polish and experience in a hurry. The food was fabulous, as can be counted on throughout the chain, however, the service left much to be desired.
We had a gathering after work for 15 people and called ahead and they would not take reservations. This is a policy at O Garden, and that is OK, but we called ahead and they still made us wait for about half and hour and it wasn't even busy yet, and then they squooshed us into a cute little room and everyone was stuck sitting too close, two on the corners of the table.....
This seemed to be a chore for the two waitresses that decided to take our order, one at one end and the other at the other end of the table. Absolutely no organization as they jumped from person to person and took various parts of our order and then kept coming back around with new questions.
We ordered wine and seven or eight appetizers but when the dinners came after close to an hour wait, all but one of the thirteen arrived simultaneously, making that one person feel a little put off that they lost her dinner......We can hope it was in the kitchen and not on Someone Else's table. They did serve another person in our party the wrong dinner, that did not belong to us, and it was lucky someone spotted it, as the diner had allergies that would not have worked well with what she was served, accidentally.
Food awesome but the service and organization? Boo We got there at 5:15 and got out at 8:30, without dessert......and.... won't be back to that locale. -

Niagara Falls, NY
Not so happy. We arrived @ 4:25 for an early dinner. There were about 15 - 20 couples and families waiting to be seated in an empty restaurant because there was a staff meeting taking place. It lasted about 20 minutes. Kind of ridiculous in a place that's supposed to be open an ready for dinner. We waited another half hour for the dried up overlooked dinner to show up. Can't say anything negative about the waiters and receptionists, all friendly and happy. This place has extreme management problems from Kitchen down though. Won't be going back there ever again. Heard at least 1/2 dozen couples around us with similar complaints so I know that we weren't being too critical. Too bad, Niagara Falls really needs a good Italian restaurant & this just isn't it! My son went last night for Valentine's day with his girl. The fried calamari appetizer was very undercooked!
