Decent pasta for the price, and of course the endless soups, salads, breads, pop.... We usually get filled up on all the freebies, and then take our entrees home!
The only bad thing about this restaurant is that there's always too long of a line up to get in, you would have to go just after lunch and dinner time to get a spot. Or have more locations around!!!
Service is great, restrooms are clean, food is good. -

I think Olive Garden is one of those things that if you had it in the US, you'd probably enjoy it here. If it's your first time, you'd probably wonder what the fuss is all about.
However, I think for what it is and the price range, Olive Garden is worth it. I wouldn't necessarily drive here on a regular basis to have dinner, but for those times where you're willing to, why not?
The Olive Garden prices are similar to that of many Italian places in Vancouver, but the catch is that there is refillable pop, bread sticks, salads and soups. If you're hungry, this is probably a good deal for you!
I did enjoy my meal here and I could barely finish my pasta because I was so full from the two servings of breadsticks and salad! The portions here are big, so come hungry!
Our server was super friendly and very welcoming. She wasn't fake and was pretty genuine, which is refreshing.
My only issue with the place is the wait time. I didn't have to wait that long but our waitress was saying people were known to wait for up to 2 hours! Yikes! -

I grow up going to OG, and I always thought it was real good until I started going to real good Italian restaurants. I mean its still ok. I hate the long waits no reservation first come first serve deal.
I love the endless soup, salad and bread sticks. the food is OK! good portions and price
I recommend coming for lunch less of a wait.
I guess overall its just an OK place. -

Not much to say about this place that hasn't already been said. It's the only location in British Columbia, so it's not like you have many options from this chain.
I love the salad dressing, but the rest of the food is pretty average. They won't serve you something horrible, but I doubt you'll ever leave the Olive Garden with your mind blown.
Service is a crapshoot since they basically have a small army of interchangeable students waiting tables in between landing their dream job anyplace that isn't the Olive Garden.
And as Jenny S. said, there are perpetual lineups. There used to be a Starbucks next door where you could get coffee and wait, but they closed after a long fight with the landlord. Now, if you're allergic to lines, simply come about an hour and a half prior to close on a weeknight. There is no escaping a line on the weekends though. -

Seriously, who doesn't love the Olive Garden? Seriously??
It never fails to please our stomachs. Dessert is always super yummy! Service is excellent!
Love it! -

"me likey breadsticks me likey bread sticks"... get it? Louis Griffin?... Family G.... nevermind...
Unlimited Salad and bread sticks? yes please.. oh and there's pasta too? nice! ;)
I'm a simple guy so i order the spaghetti and meatballs, loved it when i was growing up love it still.. but this particular dish was lacking a little flavor, and being filipino i don't mean cut up hot dogs and sugar.. sheesh! The meatballs were pretty tasteless as well., like it was just rolled up in a ball with no spice. hmm :( oh well after a few tweeks and adjustments aka salt, pepper and tabasco sauce it was good to go ;) ... did i mention the bread sticks???????!!!!!
A great place for family and friends a like! just be sure to come early or you'll have to wait a hell of a long time, you know where they give you those black puck like things where they can page you when your table is ready? luckily O.G. is located at a outlet mall so u can do your shopping while you wait. just don't go too far, the page doesn't have that good of a long range. Olive Garden, you should expand to Vancouver or Richmond.... just sayin! -

VERY long wait, food was just okay... service was the best part but not worth the trip compared to many better restaurants in the city and compared to other olive gardens.

The ONLY reason I don't eat here more often is my thighs couldn't take it! Hands down best service and best food in town but omg fattening and watch out for the garlic!! Nice touch is the free wine sampling!
I always order the Zuppa soup, salad and bread sticks ~ all of which you can get when you order an entree but is WAY too much food so the bonus is you ALWAYS have leftovers for the next day!
Biggest issue is WAIT! If you go at dinner time ANY day - prepare to wait at least 45 min! There are no reservations...on the upside you can take your electronic notifyer with you and do a little shopping while you wait - OR you can arrive early with the senior crowd :)
(My last waitress Sarah was adorable!! Big tip!) -

Please know that I LOVE Italian food. That said...
The food is just too unpleasantly mediocre to warrant the seemingly perpetual lineups.
Having a half an hour wait for a table at non-peak times does not mean you're great. It means you have poor service. in the 5 or 6 times I've been there, I've never had a server I felt deserved even the basic 15% tip.
tl;dr - Just don't. -

OGar, a family favorite when it comes to pasta joints.
I will say that although I would choose to drive over the border to Ogar's Bellingham location..the Langley location will do considering it's still in the city.
Like all other Ogar's every meal comes with a basket of their famous breadsticks, a choice of soup or salad. YUM!
Service: Meh. We had a young waiter (probably in highschool) and he was quite energetic. However, I did find him a bit too chatty. Nothing terrible though.
Be prepared to wait if you're going for lunch/dinner. If you don't want to wait I'd suggest going a bit earlier for a minimal wait.
Food: For soups, I always get the Zuppa Toscana. Everything about it is so right, I don't even know what wrong is. A light creamy broth with italian sausage, kale and potatoes. OMG, to die for. Salads, I should really get a bottle of their dressing cause it is THE perfect salad dressing.
Their pastas are generally all the same..but being someone who likes simplicity I usually just order the spaghtetti with meat balls. I've had my share of meatballs (haha!) but they were a bit tasteless and bland. Could have used some more spice or something.
Ambience: How can you go wrong being in a faux-rustic Italian joint? -

I have to say that I wish that they had more dairy free options as I am lactose intolerant.
I told our server about me being lactose intolerant and asked what they would suggest on the menu to me. She went and got the manager who informed me that the pasta, marinara sauce, meat sauce were ALL dairy free and that they can make almost anything dairy free. I ordered the spaghetti with meat sauce feeling like that was safe. Our food arrived and I then found out from another manager that there IS dairy in the sauce after the first manager assured me that there was none! GRRR!!!!
Feeling helpless and frustrated that I couldn't find anything on the menu that might be dairy free besides a salad, I decided to go without any food as my friends were already digging into their food and I already felt like a pain in the ass!
I should know better; don't go to an Italian Restaurant if you can't eat dairy! -

I was hanging out in the Valley today with a friend and spontaneously decided to head to Olive Garden for dinner.
I had only been here one other time and it was a few years ago for a friends birthday.
From what I had remembered about the first I had enjoyed it.
This time was no different.
When we were seated both my friend and I were offered a complimentary glass of wine each. It wasn't any special wine but it was free! awesome.
What I really like about Olive Garden is that you get unlimited bread sticks with your meal as well as a choice of soup or salad. Unlike Old Spaghetti Factory there is a better selection of soups that you can choose from and the quality is a whole lot better too!
We loaded up on soup on salad and by the time our main dishes came we were super full and really only managed to get through half of our meals.
I ordered the classic meat lasagna and it was pretty delicious, very filling and like I said I was only able to get through half and had to bring the rest home with me.
My friend had ordered the Steak Gorgonzola-Alfredo and was quite pleased with it.
The staff were all very friendly our waiter was great - some of the best service I've ever had honestly. The restaurant manager was even out making sure everyone was being taken care of and paid great attention to us and ensured we enjoyed our stay. Drinks were re-filled quickly, we weren't rushed, We were brought more bread sticks when needed and when It came time to pay the waiter brought over two debit machines to get everything done quickly.
When we left around 6:15 there was a huge wait at the door with people waiting to be seated so I would suggest getting there early. For the people that were waiting they were being served mini bread sticks with marinara dip which I thought was quite nice.
All in all I would highly recommended Olive Garden to anyone in need of a quick Italian food fix! -

Do you like large portions of standardized pasta at cheap prices set in a carefully crafted tuscan-y like atmosphere? Then Olive Garden is the restaurant for you!
The food is decent, large portions with never ending soups or salad and all the garlic bread you can cram in your gullet. Nice soups. Good dressing on the salad. Nothing especially risk take-y or exotic. But if you're a big fan of nice, or if you don't like your food especially herbed and spiced, then you will enjoy it.
The staff was super friendly. Only the Tall Man ordered the salad and when she brought a re-fill she let all of us have some. I guess they charge you extra for sharing a single salad. The free wine sample was great and she didn't bug us continuously about wanting to order a glass. With the bill came 7 mint chocolates instead of just 3, which was our party size. Who doesn't like free chocolates? I guess jerks don't. So if you're a jerk, maybe don't eat here.
The atmosphere was noisy. It was hard to hear the person sitting across from you. Which isn't that big a deal since the food arrives fairly quickly and you kinda get caught up shoveling it in, and not talking politics or uh, monster trucks and the latest farming techniques. Not a good first date place unless you're not interested in what the other person has to say. Or kissing. There's lots of garlic.
So to recap: good for people who like standardized food, in a standardized atmosphere and enjoy friendly, slightly patronizing staff. Good for leftovers for lunch the next day. Cheap. -

Having graduated from an American university, which was located in a small college town, all we were "subjected" to dietary wise were the great American chain restos.
Olive Garden was one of my regular spots, not necessarily because I loved the food, but because I had a roommate working there and he "took care" of us. So I'm sure that some of what remains around my waist is from a few years of chowing on the OG.
So with some background, you'll know that I'm not just some schmuck that's been to OG once or twice - although I wish it was such. If you want a heavy, creamy, intestinally damaging meal, the OG is PERFECT for you.
I had the Carbonara, which I've had before and it was heavier than I remember. Much HEAVIER. Too much cream, too much, ugh. A few bites in and you want to have that lame OG salad again.
The portions are OK for average eaters. The appys for the most part are substandard (the offerings haven't changed really in years), the entrees are blah (except the Seafood Portofino is OK - oily but OK). For what you get the prices are pretty much average. But their food struggles to be average.
All in all, it's an OK place. We're not overrun with Italian places, but between South Surrey, White Rock, Langley, there are enough places to go to not have to go to the OG. -

Oh Olive Garden, you sold me with the commercials promise of salad and tasty bread sticks then dashed my hopes with everything else.
This is a combo review of my past 4 visits.
I found Olive Garden by accident one day while waiting for my car stereo to be repaired at a local stereo company out in Langley.
Olive Garden has everything that should make it successful, a decent marketing campaign, a good location, a very nice looking restaurant with the ambience you'd expect and lastly friendly helpful staff.
Simply put the reason it all falls flat is the food. Sure the salad and bread are great but the actual hot dishes all seem to have a pre-made from a box taste. I've had the chance to sample four separate dishes over time and I don't believe there is a real chef in the kitchen it's just an assembly line of kids putting salad into bowls , warming bread sticks and opening microwave packages and then putting them on plates.
Dining should be an experience and Olive Garden does meet 2 of the 3 area's you'd want, friendly staff and ambience. Just the food dishes, for restaurants, are unfortunately the main thing that gets judged and this is where they fail horribly.
To quote Public Enemy ".. don't..don't ..don't believe the hype" -

Meh - don't understand why people love this place so much.
Other that the unlimited soup and bread - Olive Garden place isn't that cheap. There's nothing wrong with the pasta per se, but it's pretty bland and uninspired. Then again, it's a mega-chain 'Italiano' restaurant - so I guess you can't expect too much.
I ordered a beer (~$6 for 17 oz) - not sure why there's a 15 oz and a 17 oz glass for beer - what's the difference really? I got the ~$20 Italian Feast. Not that I was particularly hungry, but my infantile obsession with food challenges compelled me. The Italian Feast is like a mega combo and you can select 3 out of some standard dishes. I went with the lasagna, penne and chicken parmigiana. To be honest, I couldn't really tell the difference between each dish - it was just shovelling saucy carbs down my gullet. In fact, I think I liked the free soup and breadsticks better.
If you go to Olive Garden, just get some cheap and simple and get your free soup and bread on. If you're looking for cheap, mountainfuls of pasta - save yourself the trip and just go lineup at Anton's instead (http://www.yelp.ca/biz...) - not to say Anton's is amazing Italian food - but it's cheaper, better and closer. And you have a chance to win a cheesy prize for finishing a giant plate of saucy carbs. -

I just had dinner here with the family yesterday and I've been here on 2 other occasions before then. This place is glorified, below average pasta dressed up to look authentic.
I came here with my mom and younger sister. I had the Chicken Alfredo with broccoli. It was bland, the pasta was borderline undercooked, and there was barely any Alfredo sauce. My mom wasn't too hungry so she just ordered an appetizer and the waiter immediately gave her a dirty look and after that couldn't be bothered with us. They tell you that you get unlimited salad and breadsticks with your meal but its all incorporated into the cost.
It was super busy for dinner on Friday (I don't know how this place does so well, I can make the dish I had at home better than them) and it took a while for our food to come out. If you're going to boast authentic Italian cuisine at least make it better than non-italian restaurants. I've had better pasta at Boston Pizza. -

I know the Olive Garden is popular. I know there is usually lines outside to get in.....But I really don't know why. The food is pretty tasteless. Or, as my wife says, everything kinda tastes the same here. Whats the deal with the chicken? it looks kinda fake and preformed. I'll pass. I guess its a step up from McDonalds/fastfood...but just barely.

The whole Olive Garden Experience has kind of worn off on me. We were soooo excited when this location came to Langley. At the time there were so few places to eat here, and even now most of them are lame chains.
Anyway, I used to put up with the line up and scrum to get in, and now I don't. Last time I was there, the hostess was so rude I called the manager the next day (which isn't something I normally bother to do).
I have heard the food is shipped in from Toronto, (a la im Hortons) largely cooked, and just assembled in the kitchen. The salad and bread sticks have been the same since I ate at OG in Toronto in the mid 90's.
For the money, I could feel crowded and like cattle in any number of places, without the long wait. -
Review from Simon K.
I was taken to this place for my birthday on the weekend, and this honestly is the only Olive Garden close to Vancouver! It was either here, or Bellingham, crossing the border, and since I don't get out to Langley, really ever, it was a good trip.
I remember going to Olive Garden about 8 years ago in Toronto, and didn't think they even had any left in Canada, as my friend always talks about going to the one in the States when we come back home.
I must say I was impressed that people actually wait an hour. They told us that it was at least going to be an hour, and I already saw a line up of people outside. In my head I was thinking, "wow... people actually waiting for this?". I'm only waiting.. cause I made the trip.. and it's an hour drive for me back home.
We drove around for an hour trying to waste time.. and when we came back, we had our table. The food was good, the portions were huge, but the one thing that stood out more than the food, was the service. Our waitress was funny, helpful, and just a joy to have serving us. We barely finished our meal, and they packaged it to go. I would defanately recommend this place, especially if you can EAT! -

amazing! we arrived around 430, and the place was busy, but we got right in (RARE!) so if your gonna come, come early. however, we had amazing service and food. i had the zuppa toscana soup...if you havent tried it, i highly recommend, very different from the usual minestrone.
the manager came and gave us coupons for next time, plus when my bf asked he gave us an entire handful of those chocolates! our server was great, there when we needed her but not in your face.
great place, i got the lobster and crab ravioli, so our bill was a little pricey, but i had a full late night dinner of leftovers after! -

Oh how I heart the Olive Garden. This Langley location being the only one in BC makes it almost mandatory to wait in line to get a table! The unlimited salad and breadsticks with your order are so good, that you'll probably fill up before your food even comes! Or if you're not a fan of salad (even though I would encourage you to try this salad), you can also get unlimited soup with your meal. Oh so yummy.
My favorite dish here is the cheese ravioli. Yes, it can get a bit cheesy, but that doesn't mean that i don't finish it everytime!! -
Review from L K.
We always see the Olive Garden commercials that look sooo yummy, but we don't have one in Hawaii, so when we happen to go somewhere with one, we definitely eat there.
Two of my friends and I ate at the Langley Olive Garden, and it was definitely yummy! The unlimited breadsticks and salad are very delicious, and may make you wish you were a bottomless pit. And the pastas are sooo good. Plus prices are decent.
One of my friends was walking around holding her tummy after because she was so full, but HAD to finish it all. -

Love it, Love it, Love it! Great food. Great portions. Great service. All you can eat soup, salad and breadsticks is a great deal, as well as the regular menu. You just can't go wrong. Get there early, otherwise the wait times can get long.

Went for lunch with my co-workers and when we ordered the lunch special (soup, salad, and bread sticks) the waiter commented on or selection as "you are just getting appietizers" and "these are the free appies that come with our meals" clearly the waiter displaying his fustrations that every table in his section and the whole restaurant was ordering this because people do not go the olive garden for a dinner size chicken parm for lunch. The service at this olive garden for lunch is some of the worst, in a prevoius trip the waitress basicly called us cheap and that we make them get more food for us and then only give a dollar tip. Which if it was true would be a reason to be pissy with us but its not.
The food here is always consistant and for 9 bucks its a great place to have a quick and filling lunch, but the attitudes of the wait staff needs to be addressed. -

This is a very friendly restaurant. Great concept, great design, great ambiance, great staff... The only major disappointment is the food. My friend returned one dish, exchanged it for another and it still wasn't very flavourful. My dish was OK, I had the chicken with broccoli, the chicken was good but the sauce was very bland as well. The salad and bread sticks were good though. It was very busy, even on a Tuesday night. But the bland food is almost a deal breaker for me.

I have never been to this olive garden with less than 6 people, so that probably makes a difference.
I gave them 3 stars for the atmosphere, zuppa tuscana, shrimp and lobster ravioli and the salad/breadsticks.
Any other food I have had here, (I go with a business group regularly) is pretty bland, but generous portions.
If I was to rate on the service, it would be 0 stars. Last time I was with a group of 9, we waited 20 minutes just to give our drink orders, another 25 for our drinks then another 15 to give our meal orders.
They forgot two meals, broght them out after everyone else was done eating, stone cold. Refused to take them off the bill.
By the time we were seated til they brought us our bills, it was almost 3 hours.
(I have been to other olive gardens with wonderful service, just not this one) -
Review from Michelle O.
The food here is good and you wont leave here hungry. You however may starve to death waiting for a table- be prepared to wait a long time- up to 2 hours. They dont take reservations which is a bummer but you can put your name on the wait list and come back when they tell you to!

I normally hate chain eateries, but I used to love Olive Garden. I am not sure if it is just the Langley location but their food quality has dropped dramatically while prices have shot up. Soup and salad are still very good and a good deal, but chicken wad very over cooked, pasta was bland and really not much of it. Service is still great, wine prices were fair, but portions much much smaller.

Love it here. What can be worse, you get unlimited Salad and fill up on bread. You order a meal, take it home and have it the next day cause you filled up on salad. Two meals for the price of one.

One Word; amazing. The food is divine. It's very reasonably priced considering how big the portions are. The service is outstanding as well. Very attentive and friendly staff. Highly recommend making the drive out to Langley. Definitely expect a wait, but it's well worth it. I guess that's more then one word...
