I realize this might not be a popular review in light of the Toyota recalls. However, I have to give credit where credit is due: O'Regans Toyota Halifax is far and away the best dealership with which I've ever dealt. From the moment we stepped inside the dealership, we were treated like valuable clients and not just someone kicking the tires.
Bob Bell was our salesman and he shepherded us through the buying process seamlessly. From the test drive to the neogotiations, Bob was professional and friendly without crossing that line into the stereotypical smarmy car salesman. He provided us with tons of information on the car we'd selected (yes, a Corolla!) and acted as a liaison between us and the business office. When it came down to crunching numbers, he ran several scenarios for us until we found one that matched our budget.
We started running numbers on a Wednesday evening and by 5pm Thursday, the car was ours. Bob came in early for his shift to ensure that the car was detailed and processed, just waiting for us to arrive and do the hand-over.
I've had the car in twice for service: once for a tire puncture (which was repaired at no cost to me) and again for the recall service. Both times, the service staff were courteous and efficient; I was in and out before I could hardly start my book.
Like I said, I realize that Toyota is getting a bad rap in the press - and probably some of it is justified. However, there wasn't a single issue at O'Regans Toyota Halifax and I have every confidence that they will continue to offer the high quality of service we were shown. -

I agree with Dr. H - DO NOT PUT MONEY DOWN! I will save you the long and sordid story that unfolded over three days that lead to us going to Tusket toyota to order our new vehicle. From the Financial/Business Manager who stated "I'm not very good with numbers", to the unrealized promises of a car within 24 hours, it was an experience that left me questioning everything about the place. Was the 4 cylinder really that sucky - the test drive was almost dangerous due to the lack of acceleration? Was there ever a real vehicle within 24 hours reach? Did the salesman have to add "you might lose some incentives if you don't order tonight!"
They did come in with the lowest price for the car we wanted, but the experience led us to pay another dealer extra money just to avoid the nagging doubts and fears. Keep in mind that there are numerous Toyota dealers within an hours drive of downtown Halifax - and I would encourage you to check them out before venturing to this dealer.Comment from Susan J. of O'Regan's Toyota Halifax 5/24/2012

We like the car we bought, it is a Toyota, so it is reliable. However we did not enjoy the experience of buying it at Oregan's.
The salesman pressured us into buying that day to ensure we would have the car on the day we wanted it and that we could only get said price if we signed that day. We caved and ended up buying the car that day. But then all of a sudden, once the documents were signed, we no longer could get our car the day they had promised.
To put things nicely, we finally got the car, days after it was promised to be ready. We'd buy Toyota again, but from somewhere else.
