In terms of getting bang for your buck, Numero uno is a vegetarian pizza lovers paradise.
For 2 bucks you can get a huge slice of fresh pizza and the most creative veggies options (like eggplant and blue cheese, or spicy potato).
If you are like me and love ending your night with a slice of cheesy heaven, Numero Uno blows others spots out of the water. For the East side equivelent, try Uncle Fahti's (pronounced Fatty's). -

What the what? I had to double-check with Google Maps that where I've eaten yesterday at midnight is indeed the place all the positive reviews have been left for. I used to live in Van up until a few years ago, and came back to see family for Christmas. I also love a late night slice, and normally eat at mom-and-pop and chain pizzerias alike. I'm no pizza connoisseur, but this is supposed to be a good deal? The service was indeed good, but that basically means "she smiled" because it's not like you'd expect much from a "can I get that slice there, here's my card" interaction anyway. The rating I left is because of the pizza itself, and here's why:
For $6, I got two small slices and a can of pop. You know how other places give you a quarter of a pizza, slice it in half for convenience, and charge you $3.50-4 total for a slice? By "slice" here they mean half or less of that normal quarter-pizza slice, and either the slices are way too expensive for what they are, or that can of pop was like $2. Any way you slice it (ba-dum-pshht), this is kind of a rip off, but ok, they're capitalizing on the drunk crowd, I get it. Maybe the pizza is good?
What I got was a thin, crusty, unbendable pizza shaped cracker topped with some kind of frozen greenery and reheated vegetables; what seemed like crispy white wax or maybe dried up papier-mâché glue for cheese; and sauce that tasted suspiciously like canned tomato paste (don't get me wrong, I f--king love eating tomato paste out of a can, but it doesn't belong on a pizza!). I WAS DEEPLY INTOXICATED, and through the warm and fuzzy clouds of my drunken stupor I could still arrive at the realization that what I was eating was literally the worst pizza on Earth.
I have bought better frozen pizza from Superstore. I have had better pizza at Pizza Pizza (which has to be the worst pizza chain in Ontario). I'm pretty sure reheated trash from the truck that picks up Pizza Pizza's bin out back will taste better. Honestly, if you're in the same position as I was, you're on Granville street! Do yourself a favour, and wander around some more. Surely, either direction you go you're bound to find much better food than this! -

Came back for some late night munchies. They raised the price to $2.50 a slice. Yikes! I think I'm going to start hanging out at Megabite the next block over. This is no longer good value.

This is the place to go for the greasy fast food fix after a night of drinking downtown. They keep a good variety of slices fresh and ready for the exodus of people from local bars late at night. My absolute favourite is the beef & blue cheese pizza. It is to die for! They even have a vegetarian blue cheese alternative, which is also really decent.
The slices are $1.50 each, no matter which kind you buy, an easy amount to fish out, even in a drunken haze. The slices themselves are substantial for what you pay. And if you are in a drunken haze, you won't mind that the place sometimes looks like a pack of wild monkeys ransacked it. You can't really blame the staff - that's what you get when you cater to the post-drinking crowd.
Numero Uno really is "numero uno" for a quick & tasty solution for drunken pizza slice cravings. -

I thought this was a "by-the-slice" kind of place, but I was wrong. The first clue should have been the hostess who seated us. Hmm...that's unusual. She gave us menus and left us to look them over. It's a simple menu, and I flipped it around an exaggerated number of times looking for the per slice prices. Oh! Turns out they don't sell that.
We left. Sorry- nothing wrong with buying a whole pizza, we just didn't have time for that. So for all of you out there- this is not the quick stop pizza place. Server and hostess were very nice though. -

Perhaps there is nothing better than some good pizza at the end of a late late night... and that's just what you get at Numero Uno Pizza! They even have MORE THAN one type of veggie pizza!! Seriously, when do you ever see that happening at a late night pizza joint anymore?!
I have never been disappointed coming to Numero Uno; even though my normal time to visit this establishment is after 2am!! The staff is so friendly, the slices are huge, and the pizza is cheap! Gotta love it! -

The Numero Uno/Megabite battle is like Coke or Pepsi...it's pretty damn close to being the same product; however you just have to be a wanker about one and defend the other.
Decent pizza, and quick service and a HUGE dining space allow for Numero Uno to squeak out an edge most of the time, but only if you're in groups. They usually have a solid selection of pizzas to pick from, and the oven is going virtually non-stop come 10pm. If you're on the other side of the street on the Granville Strip this place is the place to be. -

Though the cashier was lovely and friendly here, the pizza was unfortunately not as good as at the other Numero Uno pizza location over on Davie Street. The toppings seemed a little dried out and stinge, and they also don't seem to do the sesame seed crust here. But I appreciated the smiles.

Good for quick food. During the day, one big slice is $1.50. They charge $0.50 more in the night. They have a huge variety of toppings for you to select, some of which are veggie.

I got delivery last night and ordered a pizza and hot wings. The hot wings were absolutely disgusting. The chicken was dry and it tasted like they just threw some chili paste on them. When I called them to complain they hung up on me so I called back and they hung up again. I called again and they didn't answer so my friend called and they picked up and she tried to complain and they simply said call tomorrow. Horrible service and really really bad wings!!! I soooooo will NOT recommend this place!
