    I've always been fairly comfortable with Nova Scotia Power's services. They're often pretty efficient when it comes to getting on the grid, and their employees are usually rather helpful and friendly when you call in for assistance with queries.

    Yesterday, however, I called in to schedule a meter reading so that I could disconnect my power. They have a convenient new service that when there's a long wait on the line, you input your phone number and they'll call you back so that you don't have to sit with your ear glued to the receiver.

    I happily dialed in my phone number and was told by the robot voice that someone would get back to me within 9-14 minutes. I waited. An hour and a half later, still no ringing. I didn't have a chance to call again yesterday, so today I have to make the call again. Hopefully I can actually talk to a human today to make the necessary arrangements. Stay tuned for the gritty details of attempting to deal with utility companies over the phone... a riveting saga, indeed.
