    * Perhaps I got the wrong thing *

I had the lamb dumplings.  I was hoping for something similar to the ones available at Peaceful Restaurant (http://www.yelp.ca/biz...).

But alas, these were not of the same quality.

They were clearly handmade, but the dumpling skin was way too thick and inconsistent.  In parts it was so thin it was breaking while in other parts it was so thick that some tasted almost undercooked.

The lamb itself did not have a strong lamb flavour, and tasted as if it had been mixed with a filler.

No dipping sauce was served, other than the soy sauce to help yourself with at the counter.

Looking at the lamb noodles soups other people ordered had me wondering why I didn't get that!  Next time!

Oh my! Hand pulled noodles in soup with lamb (noodle soup #2, btw)!  It's soooooo good.  The broth isn't too salty. I've never had lamb broth anywhere else so I doubt they use boullion or anything else but lamb to flavour this homemade broth.  The place is run by an older couple. The man takes your order and the woman pulls your noodles.
All for the low low price of $6.50.
    Sheer heaven! I love it!

    Beware, it's cash only!

Listen to your gut. It's smarter than your eyes and head.

I had been here once before and tried their hand made beef noodle soup. After waiting a good 20 min, I was super disappointed as the noodles were both inconsistent in texture and made Mr. Noodles a more appealing alternative.

This time around I had forgotten to try Wang Shanghai for XLB's and ended up ordering some from here. Wrong choice big time. When I got my order they put the XLB on a styrofoam plate (wtf?). Flags raised, I went through the XLB 4-step eating process (Lift, dip, suck, bite). The obviously microwaved XLB's had very little soup in them and the meat was almost inedible. Not sure what kind of cocktail of meat they used.

Easily worst XLB I've had. Ever.

I also get dyslectic reading their name. 'Meixi' comes up as 'Mexi' (inferring Mexican) when I read the sign.
