Review from Sarah S.
North Vancouver, BC
They offer a nice selection of new hardcovers and soft jacket fiction books. The librarians are very happy to offer up books and I had one lady walk me through the stacks and help me pick out my max limit. There is a well stocked AV section which I avoid like the plague on weekends as it is used as a substitute for Blockbuster and chock full bodies. If you can't find the book you are looking for you can use an inter library loan option OR find it on audio book which you can download online. Nothing beats that smell of paper though.
I do have a plea for parents, please for the love of god shut your kids up at the library. The building is a green design and unfortunately echos terribly, when your little spawn is screaming its head off you can hear them on the third floor. You can also hear the librarians pleading with you to take your child outside and your snotty remark back. When I was a kid I was threatened with death if I acted out at the library and would get the death stare if I dared run around and shout. -

This library is no good for studying. It's even difficult to read there. Without fail there is at least one screaming kid or loud group of people to throw off your concentration. It is a library, not a day care or a social hang out!
There are two relatively quiet rooms on the third floor.
The book stacks are decent, and they also have a really good selection of DVD movies with 1 week rentals.
