Norman Flynn showcases a sweeping fusion of original lighting designs in his North End Halifax store. There is a clear vision here and a heavy dosage of innovation and "outside the box" creations. It is apparent that Flynn bares no boundaries to the concept of light, and it speaks through his unprecedented collection.
With a careful eye for presentation, the store's esthetic is crisp, monochromatic and minimalist. It is a well constructed space that provides an open concept, yet the element of surprise with wall spacing and little nooks. The experience reads more as a visit to a large-scale gallery or museum -- one of a kind looks and true artistry to awe over.
Every design was completely different and heavily inspired. Flynn exudes versatility in form, texture, material and scale to give each piece of work its own identity. Truly innovative- this place was inspiring.Listed in: Art World

How often do you buy a light fixture? Me, very rarely. I would never have the budget to buy one of these light fixtures that doubles as a piece of art from the shimmering showcase of lighting that is Norman Flynn Design, but a girl can dream.
The convergence of elegant crystal, modern lines and inspired lights and lamps would add sparkle to any household. The prices are steep, but so is the quality as the lighting is imported from Europe. Lights and lamps at Norman Flynn certainly shine more brightly than those from big box retailers.
Despite the superluxe inventory, the staff is very friendly and not at all, in any way, fancy or condescending. Before I knew how pricey the products were, I browsed a catalogue looking for a chandelier. I selected one only to be told in the nicest manner that it was handmade in Italy and had a $15,000 price tag. The same unassuming staff member also offered to call Toronto to see if it was in stock.
Norman Flynn also offers design advice ranging from colour selection to the more substantial services of full-scale project management and design of home renovations including additions.
A visit to what must be the most luminous store in Halifax is guaranteed to inspire your imagination. -

I will take the one in the window please. Driving by I always see these eye catching piece of art as you really can not call it a light.
Well this was the perfect opportunity to go in and browse the store to see what other exciting thing were available. Unbelievable that people can create these pieces. That someone can put a vision together and create such masterpieces. My favourite is the one that is in the window on the right hand side when you walk in. It reminds me of frozen icicles that light up, just amazing and it is even more spectacular up close. Now don't get me wrong these do come with a price tag but I can eat on the floor under a piece like that.
If you are someone who is unique and like to out do that Jones than stop on by Norman Flynn Design as I know if anything it will be a great conversation piece you purchase. -

Norman Flynn Designs is like walking into a Gallery.
It is breathtaking, the magnificent lighting they have displayed. Some of them are truly like pieces of art.
The show room is very elegant. I was in awe looking around.
A very nice gentleman came out and spoke with me, telling me they have only been involved in the lighting for about three years. The interior design, far longer.
They have been written up in two local magazines here in 2007,
En Route Magazine and Lifestyle Maritimes.
I would say, judging by the lighting and decor, this would not be a place where if you have to ask, "How Much" you should venture. Other than to dream and plan for your future purchases.
If you are looking for top quality design, fresh ideas, and unique fixtures, this would be your stop.
