Second location same great formula
Just tried the Lychee Iced tea - like a million fresh lychees in a glass without having to peel them all.
That was good but the Caribbean Split Pea soup was the perfect thing for a rainy January afternoon.
Lastly Momma's Meatloaf Panini. Wow - meatloaf, onion aioili and ketchup - it all works. My new favourite sandwich.
If you're in Richmond Center - DEFINITELY take the five minutes it takes to walk across Number Three road to Nooch. -

I really wanted to give a 5-star rating because the staff were impecable but the two times I've eaten from Nooch, I was sadly disappointed.
I love the interior of the restaurant. Clean, white walls and seating with a cozy and trendy corner with a wooden table and huge, fatboy lounging beanbags!
The first time I came for take-out I ordered the Veggie Lovers sandwich. When I drove home with my bag of goodies, I was super sad to find a mushroom, pepper and onion panini instead. I trusted the waitress had given me the correct food since I was the only customer ordering at that time and I saw her write Veg Lovers. Regardless, the panini bread was wonderfully pressed with a crispy outside and a chewy, warm inside. I'm not a fan of mushrooms but the panini tasted fine. But it wasn't my veggie lovers. Also, since the panini was warm in the cardboard box, it steamed up my chips, which then became a soggy mess. I really REALLY enjoyed the salad it came with. Broccoli, cabbage, lettuce, carrots and a nice, light sweet dressing - yum!
The second time I attempted the Veggie Lovers again and with no chips. This time before leaving I checked the bag and it was the correct sandwich. Success! Or so I thought. I came home and it was a saucy mess. There was too much sauce in the sandwich that with one bite all the ingredients slid down my fingers and I could barely taste the fresh avocados or alfalfa sprouts due to all the sauce saturating it. The salad was delicious though. http://www.yelp.ca/biz...
Service was always super nice, friendly and welcoming. It really feels like they enjoy their job there, which is refreshing.
I am not giving up on this place, I know I'll find and eat a sandwich from here that will tickle my fancy. Until then, this place is A-OK. -

The second location for Nooch, across from Richmond City Hall on the corner of Number 3 and Anderson.
Sandwiches. The place is nice, bright and clean, with a well put together ambiance. I had the turkey pesto on sourdough with a coconut-squash soup. Food was great, fresh and made with a lot of care. Soup was made from scratch and was a nice as any that you'd get in a nice sit-down restaurant. The sandwich was grilled to just the right amount of crispness, with lots of turkey and melting mozzarella. The portions are 'just right'.. you won't be stuffed but they are enough to satisfy for reasonably healthy meal.
The decor is very fresh and modern for the neighborhood, which is a welcome change. Music is right for the ambiance and not played too loud for conversation. Overall, the aesthetics are are as sleek and modern as any that you would find in downtown Vancouver. The 'chill' part of the name is about right, it's comfortable place to settle down for a while. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu.
