This review is strictly for the Dim Sum.

For me Dim Sum is all about steamed dumplings and Noble Court makes a pretty good one. So, roughly every other Sunday I beg my husband to come here for brunch. An insider tip, they will give you vinegar and little dipping plates if you ask.

Here are the dishes we have tried and enjoyed.

Shrimp dumplings: The shrimp and cilantro dumpling is by far the best but they also have the traditional one and a spinach and shrimp dumpling.

Shrimp noodle: It's a large rice noodle wrapped around shrimp, it's fairly average here.

BBQ Pork Bun: They have both steamed and Baked, the steamed are a bit better but both are pretty standard.

    Sticky Rice: Average

Chicken Feet: They actually do these really well, some of the best on the east side

Pea Vines: You have to order these from the waiter and they come out in a dinner portion but they are well done and not overly greasy.

    Shiu Mai: Skip these here

    Custard Bun: Husband loves these

    Fried Anchovies: Flavorless, skip

    Pot Stickers: Skip, horrible

I really liked their dim-sum~! They only serve dim-sum during Lunch, so Make sure you arrive at least before 1:30 pm. If it is close to 2pm, the kitchen might stop making some of the menu..

Their dim-sum is amazing... I tried Regular Dim-Sum/ Fried Skin Dim-Sum, and Spinach Shrimp Dim-Sum... Everything was perfect~ Shrimp inside dim-sum skin is so fresh and juicy, and every bite was a soft heaven!

Sticky rice was a so-so. Since i didn't like the meat inside the wrap.

The only thing is, servers are NOT happily smiling or kindly responsive, like other American restaurant, but I sort of understand/ am used to the culture, since I am orginated from Asia. In China, the CHEF is the King, UNLIKE other countries who treat their CUSTOMER like a King.

Great Sunday Dim Sum spot.  Usually always crowded which is always a great tell-tell sign, just don't let them sit you in the area with the bar - service is very slow and often forgotten about in that part of the restaurant.

Food is fresh, service is a bit surly ... my husband usually orders two diet cokes (for himself) whenever we first sit down because it's near impossible to see/flag another server for another until they come to bring the check.

As far as Dim Sum goes, their Siew Mai (pork dumplings), Prawn Dumplings, Chive Dumplings, Cilantro and Shrimp Dumplings are all wonderful!  Just be prepared for a little wait depending on when you arrive and don't have a high expectation of the staff to pay attention to detail.

Favorite place for dim sum!! Come here once every few months for brunch and I must say this has got to be the best dim sum restaurant I've been to so far.. Also been to a few in the international district as well as Kent and other places here and there but Noble Court takes the cake!! Even when the place is full, food carts are plentiful and serving is quick! not all dim-sum is the same.. Food here is fantastic and totally worth the drive.. I live near Seatac  airport

I consider 3 stars decent for Seattle Chinese food. Lol. A group of us came here for dim sum:

We had to wait 20 minutes despite making a reservation. They said they were setting up the table but when we got there, nothing was set up. Not everyone here speaks Cantonese nor were they very patient considering we were with a vegetarian, non Chinese newbie, but it's a Chinese restaurant right?

This place gets pretty crowded and busy.

The chilli sauce was tasteless and flaky so minus points for that. Same with the weak tea.

The Chinese donut wrapped in flat rice noodles was surprisingly crispy and the egg tart was good. Some other dishes we had were:

    -flat rice noodles with shrimp
    -flat rice noodles with mushroom
    -Chicken feet
    -shrimp dumplings
-shrimp and chive dumplings in the steamed and fried variety
-pork and thousand year egg congee
    -vegetable spring rolls
    -chow mein
    -honey walnut prawns
    -cold garlic green beans
    -bbq pork fried buns
    -sweet sesame balls
    -fried shrimp dumplings
    etc etc.

Everything else was ok. Nothing was bad.

The thing about rating Dim Sum restaurants is...It's either terri-bad, good, or extremely good. IE, 1 star, 4 stars, or 5 stars. In other words, if you don't meet the bar, (AKA 4 or above), then you are a 1 star place.

Okay, what is dim sum? In summary, small plates of dishes meant to be shared. It's similar to Spanish tapas or Japanese izakaya (minus all the drunk business men). Small dishes means you get to order a lot of variety and try a bunch of different dishes. And since dim sum is meat heavy, it's great for hang-overs. I don't really know why, but I have a lot of anecdotal evidence of this.

Now, about the establishment. I like because it is big. While a crowded small dim sum place might seem more authentic, you gotta have enough space for several dim sum carts to be wheeled around. This place is big enough that you don't feel claustrophobic. There is usually a wait, but it's never long (another bonus of being big). Service is par for a Chinese dim sum joint and the food definitely meets the minimum dim sum level of goodness. Come here are enjoy shrimp dumplings, pork and shrimp sui mai, and the fried taro dumplings. Really, it's all good, you can rarely go wrong. Come with friends, the more the merrier and the more variety. I love dim sum after a good krunkin' party.

My aunt and I wanted to get lunch in Bellevue this weekend, and was in the mood for Asian. She recommended this as a place she's been to before, so we decided to give it another go.

It was a bit difficult to find because of the lack of any type of real big signs. We made a joke about how trashy the outside looks. Then we go in and it's actually very nice. Typical chinese. The moment we sat down, there were server carts at our table and we ate. We started with sticky rice, char siu (or bbq) manapua (pork bun), honey walnut shrimp, deep fried shrimp w/ mayo (love mayo with it), made our way through meat goh, shumai, and probably other stuff as well.

You can tell the quality of the restaurant by the pork bun. The outside was very soft, the bbq was nicely seasoned and very moist (a little skimpy). Loved it! I would recommend everything we ended up getting. Food was great and brought me back to the quality of Chinese food I eat in Hawaii.

The price was very typical, about $15 ahead to stuff your face.

Looking forward to coming back here and trying some of the other dishes. Especially the jin dui and custard tart if they have it.

I noticed a lot more dim sum is becoming by order, so it's really nice to still see carts. Adds a lot to the authenticity.

I'm really not picky at all about dim sum.  It's one of my top 5 favorite things, and even badly done, I love it.  I've had dim sum at fancy restaurants in China, and of course, this place can't even compare, but it's good considering the location.

I've never had a bad experience with the food here.  They always have my favorites.

I would definitely recommend the chicken feet, sticky rice wrapped in leaves, barbequed pork buns, radish cakes, sauteed spinach with plum sauce, and shrimp dumplings.

The food was good, the service was fast. Once we sat down we got tea and water without being asked. The carts were filled with all the good dim sum and came around quickly. Usually we have to wait a while to get the stuff we want in a big dim sum restaurant but Noble's was on it!

Everytime I make it to Seattle from Pasco, I have to stop by here and get my chicken feet fix, shumai and their hot tea!

Their staff is very attentive pushing around the dim sum carts!

Very great value and outstanding flavor that always deliver what I have come to expect!

I didn't give them a 5-rating due to the fact that they always run out of my sweet tofu soup..even after an hour after they open! How about cook a bigger batch for a fan who drives hours to eat at your establishment!

My co workers brought me here for lunch and it was surprisingly good for not being in or near International District. They had a really good selection of dim sum and they even had my favorite dish - deep fried dough sticks wrapped with rice noodle. But you have to ask one of the waiters and they'll make it for you in the back. Same with the yellow sponge cake but unfortunately, that didn't taste very good or looked very good (more of a brownish color).

The staff was kind of nice for Chinese standards when I spoke to them in Cantonese.

There were some dishes that seemed to have been exposed and sitting on the cart for a while.

We go to this place for Dim Sum if we have to eat on the Eastside. While the food is okay, I agree with many of the other reviewers that it can be cold and left on the cart too long.

The last time we were there, they seemed pushy about getting us to take certain plates we didn't want. Like they were trying to get rid of it. We repeatedly told them we didn't want a certain dish and they still started to pour sauce on it, or cut it up and put it on our table.

It's also much pricier compared to better places in the ID. For two people, we spent close to $35 for lunch.

There are far better places in Seattle, and it's worth crossing the bridge for Eastsiders.

Haven't been here in several years, so we thought we'd give it a try.   We didn't make it time for the Dim Sum, which I remember being very good, so we went ahead and ate off the menu.  We had broccoli and beef,  house chow mien and a mixed seafood bowl with noodles.   It was all just OK, not great and not bad.  The broccoli and beef was over powered with ginger, the chow mien was very dry and the mixed seafood bowl was bland with only a couple pieces of seafood.  Service was friendly and atmosphere was nice.  Next time I think we'll get there for in time for the dim sum and avoid the menu.

This place is big and the quality is ok.  The staff is good and the atmosphere is nice.  I've ate here many times in my teenage years and as an adult.  A few years back this place got in trouble with the health department for not keeping the food at a safe temperature.  I read they were leaving the food on the carts and letting the food get cold.  This can be a health problem with some foods.

Update:  Here is the Health Department report for this place, lately they have some big violations and have shut down alot:

    http://www.decadeonlin...

If you go here you can search for the restaurant by name and get more current records: http://info.kingcounty...

I decided to try them again 5 months ago.  Well.. they are at it again....

I had shu-mai, shrimp rolls, and sticky rice wrapped in lettuce leaf.  The shu-mai was served cool.. possibly below room temperture.. and the same with the shrimp rolls.  Not exactly great in my book.  Either way I am alive and I didn't get sick thankfully.

I won't be eating there for awhile.

Part of doing business is throwing away wasted food.  Too bad that dosen't seem to happen here.

A friend brought me here for a going-away lunch, as it was close to my work and he vouched for its quality and authenticity. Thankfully, he wasn't wrong. The place was packed, but we managed to get a table quickly enough as there were only two of us. Then we proceeded to fill our table with heaps of dim sum.

We tried the BBQ pork buns, the shrimp & pork shu mai, the shrimp dumplings, the shrimp rice noodle rolls and the honey walnut prawns. Everything was delicious, the rice noodle rolls being the least impressive of the lot but everything lived up to standard. Just as good as anything you'll find in the ID, and a great solid dim sum option on the East side.

My parents are in town, and we figured we would take them out to dim sum...and since we haven't been to this restaurant before, we decided to give it a try...

Such a bad mistake. We got there around 1pm, and the place was pretty busy, but fortunately, we didn't have to wait long to be seated, which was a good tihng, especially with 2 hungry toddlers.

i don't know why they are willing to serve dim sum that isn't hot, but they do. Most of the dishes that we picked out, seemed like it had been sitting on the cart for some time, and so it was already cold..inside and out, which was terrible. Then when we picked the tripes, it tasted like it was turning bad, had some kind of spoiled taste, which was awful.

The only thing hot during our whole meal was the tea. Aside from cold dim sum, some of the wait staff that was pushing the carts around, especially this one in particular weren't exactly friendly. We chose chicken feet, and a couple more items, and before she left, we decided to ask for one more chicken feet. Instead of being nice about it...she takes a deep breath and rolls her eyes, as if picking up the container with the chicken feet with her tongs and putting it on our table will be such a hassle for her. That was pretty annoying to me.

The only good thing about this place was actually the hot sauce, and chicken feet. For the price that we paid for, for the bad dim sum and annoying waitress was definitely not worth it.

I haven't been to many different dim sum spots, but they all seem to be pretty consistent. I like noble court's building, it's interesting. Something weird today was the fried calamari. It was orange. Looked more like tempura yams. Texture was calamari, but still strange to see it like that.

Very prompt on the tea refills, that was nice. It's a good dim sum spot.

When I break from Seattle and go with friends to the east side, this is almost inevitably the place where we land.  It's like a great dim-sum flame to our endearing, mothy hearts.

I'm a fan of many dim sum spots in Seattle- but Noble Court edges out most of their competition in Seattle.  They have a great variety of different plates.  Sure, you'll see the variety of food at virtually any other dim sum place in Seattle, but it tastes better.  A little fresher and more flavorful, less prepackaged.

Nobel Court does have parking but it's not a huge lot.  It doesn't really equal the size of the restaurant which is quite open and well laid out.  Your chances of being tucked into the corner where you'll see a dim sum cart every full moon are nil here.

I haven't experienced any of the issues of food sitting out or being cold as reported in other reviews.  As with any restaurant of this type where speed can be essential, it's never a bad idea to at least check up first.

I used to think Noble Court had decent dim sum. Today, however, was not a good day. It was still not too bad, but definitely not mind-blowingly awesome either.

    Good:
    - Hot sauce
    - Tea
    - Prompt seating
    - Spacious (perfect for big groups)
    - Friendly staff

    Bad:
    - Portion size (3 pieces vs 4)
    - Price
    - No vinegar on the table

I believe they offer more varieties (sweet tofu, etc.) on weekends. I was pretty disappointed by the quality of food. I think I'm going to stick to ID for dim sum for awhile.

On our most recent visit to Noble Court, we stopped by for some dim sum on Sunday.  The selection and flavors are pretty standard, with a few options a bit more Americanized than some places.

Like most dim sum places, they only serve dim sum at lunch time.  And again like most, it is best to go with someone who is familiar with the dishes, as communication with the ladies who bring the food carts around is limited.

    Highlights:
    - We discovered a dumpling we had never tried before, with shrimp and something green inside of it.  Not sure what it is called, but it was pretty tasty.

    Lowlights:
    - The stuffed eggplant was a bit of a letdown, less flavorful compared to other places.
    - The staff were cranky when we got there.  The ladies with the carts cheered up after a bit, but our waitress was just plain unfriendly the whole time.

This was my third visit to Noble Court.  Service was better the other two times.

Dinner here is decent.  On a previous visit, the veggies in my Budda's feast were fresh and tasty, and my friends said their steamed fish and fried rice were good.

I would try this place again some day if it is convenient, but it is not one of my favorites.  For better dim sum in Bellevue, try Top Gun.

Last week a group 6 of us went for lunch ( around 1:20ish)  and would say their service and the quality of food are the best dim sum in Bellevue.  Standard dim sum items such as bbq buns, shaomai, shrimp dumplings, egg tarts, taro cakes are good and not too greasy. The waitresses aren't as pushy as other dim sum places and they will help you to find the dishes you want even if not in their cart. (Some other places they don't") Perhaps we went a bit late for lunch, so there were only a few carts left, but we still got enough varieties. It was quieter than what we expected. when it got crowded the parking lot can be full, but this time there were spaces left so I was happy.

Years ago, this was the place to go for dim sum on the east side.  Then it sort of got run down and wasn't very nice.  So, I was a bit hesitant of coming here again.

Driving up, the parking lot was packed!  But, I got lucky and the first wave of people were leaving so I snuck a spot.  One of my friends was right behind me and took the spot next to me.

Inside, we were seated quickly and started snagging dim sum before everybody even showed up.  There was a pretty good variety and things were fresh.  The carts came around regularly and the table was kept covered in food.

The place is still a little run down and they certainly cram people together.  But, I will give them the benefit of the doubt and upgrade from 3.5 stars to 4.

The dim sum has always been pretty good so I would give the food 4 stars but some of the ladies that push the carts are just plain cranky!!  Why is it that they cannot put a smile on their faces and be pleasant?  They make you feel like you are really inconveniencing them when you ask what they have in their cart.  It really makes me not want to go again.

Before Top Gun and some other places on the Eastside opened up, this was pretty much the only place to go for dim sum. Um.. it's always terrible. Haha!
Parking is terible, the cleanliness of the place is terrible, service is.. well.. scary. The servers seriously HOVER around and stare at you while you eat. It's nice that they come to you as soon as you even glance at them, but I don't particularly enjoy a lineup of 3-6 people watching me eat. The busboys cleaning up after dim sum are kind of crazy-aggressive, too. I distinctly remember eating a lo mai gai (you know, wrapped in the leaf).. I had a wedge of food on my chopsticks headed towards my mouth when the busboy picked up my plate and asked me if I was finished. Uhhh.... o_O???

The dim sum food is pretty mediocre. It's for when there are no other places available to go to and you just have to have dim sum.  The dinner is worse. Don't come here for any sort of food, really. :(

Sorry Gavin, this does mean I liked it, just not *that* much, mmmkay?

I didn't eat much at the lunch today, not super hungry and arriving late...but I sampled a fair example of some standards and a few things I didn't even know what they were.

Nothing stood out here that makes me want to 'agree' with this being "better than" such-and-such or "the best" dim sum on the Eastside.

Given the amount of food ordered and the total bill, I can agree it appears more economic to go here than to Top Gun, however.

It is closer to me, and to many of my regular lunch buds, so for that it's a step above Top Gun.

Of all the EYL's I've been to, the check was handled the poorest here, as they skimmed a $20 out of the cash before splitting on the two cards and tried, to our faces, to get more of a tip.

Dad and i did not make it in time for dim sum. Our 7-ish-o-clock dinner on a weeknight was spent in a nearly empty dining room, which was fine by me. I even got to order a bloody mary (around 6-6.50, i think) and was pretty pleased at that.

The regular menu seemed more interesting than a bunch of shumai and pork buns anyhow (i know...i know...i have had these before, though!), and i was excited about plenty of seafood options.

The lame part? Having to run back up to the front of the lobby to read the specials...even after asking. Oh, well! Everyone can use a jog!

The bathrooms are FREEZING, by the way. But the food is more important, and i did not eat on the toilet.

This was about 2 months ago, so i will just shorten the review to the sizzling eggplant hotpot and the giant oysters baked in the halfshell, with scallions and garlic. The eggplant was juicy, salty enough, and interesting to finish off till the end. The oysters were great at first, but too bland for their size (which is what usually happens when you get an oyster of such large proportions), so we kind of had to force ourselves to clean them off between the two of us. And i LOVE cooked oysters. Maybe 4 between the 2 of us would have been better (there were 6). A little Worcestershire might have helped the flavor...or a different cooking method? They were a little rubbery, I like my cooked oysters a little smokier and more charred. But hey, they weren't bad.

And the juice was good...and look at the picture, they are pretty things! Anyway.

If this place weren't out in the middle of where-the-#%$^-am-i, i'd be more excited to come back and try the rest of their seafood.

    *joy

This was my first Dim Sum experience and it's one I'll remember fondly for a long time!

I visited here on a very frost Sunday afternoon with one of my freelance clients. He is Chinese and had suggested we try some Dim Sum, I had been hearing a lot about "Dim Sum" lately and really wanted to see what it was all about. I'm really glad I was here with him, since he spoke Chinese and knew, what and how to order.

I really have no idea what we ate, I mean I kinda know what it was, but I have no clue on the names. My business associate ordered all the dishes and spoke in Chinese so I I just sat back and enjoyed the food. There were some pastry type rolls with pork inside, pretty tasty. There was some "sticky" rice with chicken wrapped in some sort of leaves, not bad. Then there were some shrimp dumpling thingamajigs, really good! I even tried the chicken feet, not my thing but I had to at least try them. Plus I tried a lot more and it was all really quite reasonable, price wise, somewhere around 30 bucks for the both of us, not bad.

Overall it was a great experience. It was fun how you ordered, they have servers rolling the food all about the place and you just point at the stuff you want. All the food seemed to be prepared well, weather I liked the taste or not, and the staff were fast and attentive. I'm glad I tried "Dim Sum" and I'll be back with some friends to show them the way!

Dim sum at a seafood joint equals not a lot of options for me. But my friends really like it, and if you like seafood, you might too. They have a large variety of food items and the carts are fun, with friendly service all around. Prices are a little high, but you're paying for the experience as much as the food.

Not so greasy in general, and definitely more finesse than your average take-out joint. Come early, as it can be a bit of a mob scene here, especially with a big group.

REVISION: The King County Health Department shut them down for most of December 2006 for extensive, dangerous problems. http://www.decadeonlin... You will not get me back in this restaurant in 2007. I want to see a string of clean inspections before I try it again!

By the way, Gavin, I find P.F. Chang's mediocre but tolerable and the Panda just sucks. My favorite Chinese place is a real family-owned authentic restaurant: Shanghai Cafe. http://www.yelp.com/bi... And for down-and-dirty quick take-out style Chinese, I like Sichuanese Cuisine well enough http://www.yelp.com/bi... though it is certainly no sparking-clean establishment (don't worry, I get the dirty hole-in-the-wall thing -- but being shut down for clear risk-to-health violations is too much even for me!)

I'd heard great dim sum things about Noble Court, so on Sunday a while back I convinced the roommate to join me for adventure.  I looked up directions and off we were.  For us it was a trek, we live on Alki after all.  So we finally find it, park and walk in.  We are greeted by the typical Chinese restaurant fish tanks, with fish and crabs and I forget what else because we were seated right away.

The carts start coming, we get shrimp and pork shau mai, shrimp fun guo, steamed shrimp dumplings, chives & shrimp cakes, and a few other items.   A couple pluses that Noble Court does have going for them: 1. free parking, 2. free refills 3. good people watching.  The dim sum was ok, yes just ok, I'm glad I went, if I'm invited to go again I would but I wouldn't make a special trip out there again there are other places closer that I like better.

Delightful dim-sum! Food carts circulated frequently and the staff was very quick to keep our water glasses full.

Great lunch for a group lunch.
