Review from Brendan B.

Very conflicted about this grocery store. For the price point it gets 5 stars, great to have a grocery store in this location that has reasonable prices, can't think of anywhere nearby that is comparable. For food however I would give it a 2 or a 3. Twice I have had to return produce that was rotten only one or two days after purchasing it.
The same day I had purchased a bag of grapefruits I cut into one and was overwhelmed with a rotting odor. They were really good about refunding my money, however because of this incident I don't shop for produce here anymore and it has made me also question what the quality of their meat might be. For this reason I would suggest using no frills for mainly non-perishables.
This is completely besides the point but their cashiers always seem morbid and depressed. Doesn't bother me in the slightest, just found it humorous but also slightly sad.
Anyways, a little more care is needed to eliminate old rotting produce from the shelves. Overall, cant help myself from giving it a good rating based on price alone. -

One of the best things about this store is its proximity to the BCLDB store. Plus there's free parking. Some days are all about efficiency and keeping it simple.
I've been a fan of President's Choice products since my Ottawa/Loblaws days. They're still solid buys and available at No Frills. Also I bank with PC so I get points if I shop here or Superstore that I can use towards free groceries.
If I just need to grab a couple of quick things for a simple meal (this isn't the place I'd go to for meat per se) and pick up a bottle of wine or beer then I'll come to this little mall and hit the No Frills. It's a 'basic needs' kind of place. -

After my second visit, I realized I wasn't so enamored with their prices or their selection. I realized that I could find fresher and cheaper produce at my ol' fave, Kin's Market on 10th / Sasamat. So it's a good thing that I still had some sitting in my frig at home.
The upside to this visit, was that I didn't have to stop by two stores to save on grocery shopping; your overall bill probably comes out lower than if you were to go to a larger supermarket chain. And they had decently priced cheeses, including havarti!
They also have random things on sale - like Jamison's Calcium and Vit C for ~$5 - that you can take advantage of. I know I did.Listed in: From Kitchen to Table, Point Grey

This store is hugely welcome with only the over-priced IGA in the immediate neighborhood. All the basics are cheap, cheap, cheap and the store re-introduced me to that intense yellow packaging of No Name brand products.
The only downside is that I've learned the nori and coconut milk are "frills". Really? Really. -

They mean it when they say "No Frills". This place ain't pretty, but it's seriously cheap. They have a pretty impressive amount of BC product, too.
It gets really busy on the weekend and it's tough to navigate the narrow aisles. Wait until Monday to do your shopping. -

It is a no frills shopping experience and a much needed alternative to the higher priced grocery retailers in the area. The store carries many of the No Name and President's Choice brand items which I adore. Their sales flier consistently advertises some of the best loss leaders that I have ever seen. The store, a former Buy-Low location, is pretty tired looking but the ability to stock up on groceries for cheap without having to travel across the city makes it easy to overlook.

In a neighborhood filled with high priced specialty stores such as Caper, Wholefoods, and Choices, No Frills has been a welcome addition to my life. Every time i hit the cash register, its like Christmas. The produce is priced aggressively low while still maintaining high quality. The only draw back that I found in the store was the quality of the meat dept. However, it is a great spot to grab a minute steak if that is what you are in the mood for.
Also if you are planning to pay by credit card, make sure it is a Mastercard because they do not accept VISA. -

I consider myself to be a super shrewd grocery shopper...If it's not the price I want I don't buy it! I love Pauls No Frills on Alma..except when they can't stock what is in the flyers. I check the flyer weekly and check it out..Regular buys? PC Naan bread, ziggys chorizo, english muffins, canned goods. THE PRICES ARE AMAZING. You want to get ripped of at Safeway go ahead.

I was so stoked when I first came inside this store because this is the first time I've seen such an inexpensive grocery store near UBC! I bought family value packs of breakfast cereal for $3.76 each! The prices here are similar to Superstore and the quality is much more decent than it. I think I will be shopping here more often.
