After eating at No.1 Beef Noodle for over a year now.  I found that they haven't slipped or cut back on ingredients.

The noodle dishes are still quite good and the portions are great.  I haven't tried a noodle dish that I disliked and hope it stays that way for years to come.  The tofu dish with rice is extremely spicey, I couldn't eat it without water.  The salty pepper chicken with rice dish is tasty as well.  However, I still order the noodles almost 90% of the time.  Always delicious and always warms the soul!

Crispy peppery salty chicken is the best! They now serve it with fried rice, so indulge a little!

They also have mountains of shaved ice here! I'll have to try it next time I'm in.

Nothing is worse than service without a smile. If you're looking for that, you've come to the right place. I'm not saying the service is not good. If you ask, they bring. It's just that the servers never smile. They always seem to be in a hurry or pissed off.  Drop off this. Drop off that. Gone. C'mon, show some personality for god's sake. How about a 'hi guys - how are you guys doing tonight?' Lay ho ma??

Food was ok. I find their noodles on the soft side. I prefer the firmness at Lao Shan Dong and even more so at Tony's Beef Noodle. Soup was not that flavourful. A little peppery that's about it. At least it's not as oily as it once was when this place first opened. I've had their potstickers in the past and they are pretty good.  Drinks - just average.

Good portion size, good prices, but lacking in friendliness.

I usually come here to eat as I live nearby.  They open late and they have good food.  I wouldn't say their beef noodle soup is the best.  I've had that once here and have mostly eaten other things instead.

I've actually never had their bubble tea so I'm not sure how they do in that department.

The staff is quick and friendly, no complaints.

For me this place is about convenience and quick food at an ok price.

Decent food, decent service, but MEH on the cleanness like most Asian places...

I do like their noodles here though. They are perfectly made and has a good soup base and their meat slices are big, which I approve upon but their drinks were totally not to my standards though. Their slushes are so watery, and it made me question how long it was sitting there at the front table for and it all melted... I didn't like that at all.

For sure the waiter was attentive and cute of course ;) but it is not his fault if the food is bad. I did not blame him on the tips of course, but the drink was just terrible.

I would sometimes go back because it is so close to home, and when I want a bowl of noodles I'll just come here for lunch and then go back to work.

My friend who formerly lived in Taiwan for a couple of years decided it was high time I started expanding my horizons when it comes to Chinese food. Since I already love ramen, Lesson 1 was Taiwanese beef noodle soup.

Unlike a ramen shop, however the menu here is vast - lots of appetizers like gyoza, salty chicken and spring roll pancakes, fried rice, and an uncomfortably large array of fried gizzards. Also many, many pages of those wacky fruit drinks and bubble teas ... but I'm going slow here.

She and I both ordered the beef noodle soup with brisket. The broth was rich (yes, beefy!) and the beef was fall-apart tender. The big thick noodles - they were a hearty departure from ramen and also quite a workout to eat with those hard plastic Chinese food chopsticks. We also shared a plate of crispy little spring roll pancakes, which are nice to dip in the broth too.

Lesson learned, honourable teacher. Next week, dim sum.

PS The restaurant is cash only.

My mom likes this place, whenever we're eating take out, this is it :)

Food isnt dingy, it's well proportioned and well priced. If you're getting noodles, I suggest going in store because the portions look larger. Whenever you order a rice, there are two vegetable sides that are constantky changing. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I force it down my throat with water.

Their bubble tea is my favourite. I ALWAYS order the strawberry slush with pearls. They make it with powder but you can still chew on seeds and such :P The passion fruit is really sweet, and I never really liked taro. But from what I understand, you can have any flavor you want. A friend tested that by ordering a...tangarine...? Something that should never be put in a bubble tea and sure enough, they created the stomach-wrenching masterpiece :D

Like many asian restaurants, it's not very clean and they accept cash only...A friend was going to buy me bubbletea, with debit :(

    Quality went down...
My usual beef noodle soup came in with the soup base watered down. Chicken wings are ok. Their drinks BBT however is a good size and good.

A restaurant that's not really noticeable but is always busy every evening usually says a lot about the place. The typical Taiwanese fare is pretty good - not the best mind you but still up there.  Some of my favs are the crispy chicken with noodles, fried pork dumplings, and the various hot pot concoctions such as their sour cabbage with pork. Like many Taiwanese noodle houses, they offer a pretty extensive drink selection.

Like what others have said, the 20-odd parking spaces can be a problem since it is shared with two other restaurants. You can park along the street behind the restaurant off Moscrop.  Overall a good place to go if you're in the area.

THEIR PARKING LOT IS THE WORST PLACE TO PARK YOUR CAR, EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    came here about 6 times...
reached to the restaurant door : ZERO time..

5 out of 6 times we didn't even get to park but found ourselves stuck in a massive traffic jam within that tiny little parking lot... The drive way was full of cars, even the cars that were parked there couldn't leave!

and one time after a long struggle with parking space, we found a spot thinking how lucky we were..... After 5 minutes of moving our car around like those Slide Puzzle games.. we finally made it into the spot and got out happily.............. A guy from the HIBIKI SUSHI (next to No.1 Beef Noodle) came out and told us not to park unless we were gonna dine at their restaurant (huge restaurant with no customer...i dont think so)~ FINE, so we left.

Few days ago, I gave it one last try with a mind set that if we failed this time, NO MORE! This time we didn't want to risk it, so we parked a block away and walked to the restaurant. YES! WE MADE IT!

I had chicken karaage with rice.. surprise surprise... *rolling my eyes* ...... After seeing my friend's beef noodle in soup (which looked delicious), I wished I ordered chicken karaage with noodle instead~ The beef slices were gigantic but I think I would still prefer the kind of beef pieces like they have at Ali Shan (http://www.yelp.ca/biz...).

Over all, the food was not bad. If you like to play Slide Puzzle - LIVE Cars Edition, I'd definitely recommend this place to you! .............................................. I didn't, so I gave this place 3 stars instead of 4~

A great spot for Taiwanese food. While nothing really stands out, you  definitely can't go wrong with anything.

My last visit here was with a friend for lunch.
Beef Noodle Soup we both had and some snacks.

    Taiwanese style, presentable and tasty.
If you like Taiwanese style noodle soup, you've gotta try this one out.

They've been here for quite awhile and cater well to the neighbourhood.
People from all over the lower mainland come here as well.  That's how good it is.

They also have bubble tea.  The BBT trend is still growing and never ending.

This review was actually from the summer back in July but I kept forgetting to write it up.  Appolagies for the lengthy delay.

    it's a 3.5 stars but reads as a 4 star.  Why only 3.5 when I say I liked it?
Back in the day it was outstanding, but that was when there wasn't that many of this type of restaurant.  Now with so many around to choose from.
They're about average.  Don't get me wrong. They're still good. It's all good.

A treasure tucked away in the corner of a dinky plaza, No.1 offers Taiwanese favourites, bubbletea and most importantly, noodles in a clean and modern setting for a great price. Love going here for lunch.

i.Heart: Ground pork on rice. Beef and wonton noodle.

Don't let the name confuse you - it's not a restaurant... not really.  In my book, it's more a Taiwanese cafe/bubble tea joint that serves food.  Apparently, there's two other locations under different names - one being Beefy Beef on Main and I forgot the name of the other place.

I've been here a few times (since my friends like this place) and have yet to try their food (and I'm not going to count condensed milk toast).  But it's a pretty good spot to grab $4.50-ish milk tea or a smoothie - it's off the main Kingsway strip and tucked away, the place is small and pretty chill.

Service is quick and never been let down with any of the drinks I've gotten there.  Actually, was pretty impressed with my milk tea and coffee slush I had last time - even though they used coffee crystals (well, I guess I can't expect they would have a coffee machine), it was pretty bold unlike most bubble tea joints that weaken and oversweeten everything.

    Cash only.

Been here once before a night class at BCIT. Tried their beef noodle, was pretty decent for the price. However, my friends weren't very happy with the other dishes they ordered off the menu (food was either too salty or overcooked). My suggestion is to stick with the dish the place is named after!

Nevermind the fact that it's been listed in the Fraser Health Authority advisory for non-potable water. This is the closest thing you'll get to Richmond cuisine in Burnaby. Parking is a lottery.
