Been meaning to write a review since my first visit back in the summer 2011 where I ordered the ramen, which was good, a 3.75 out of 5; good portions but soup base wasn't as good as the Japanese-owned ramen places in DT, thus my laziness to post.

But today for a mid-day snack, I did try their specialty sushi rolls, the Fraserview Roll : avocado,  spicy tuna, deep-fried tempura, but only drizzled lightly w/ their  house roll.

This place even sells gelato ice cream, and bubble tea too.

Do recommend this to my fellow yelpers.  Parking's a bit tough here on 49th Ave. and Victoria.

I've tried the bubble tea as well as the "beautiful bento boxes" here.  Good on the whole!  Nice spot to grab something cheap.  Open at off hours too, so that's nice.  Far from fancy, but still very enjoyable.

Moved into the area last spring and was looking for a new neighborhood sushi place. i'm happy to found Nishiki Sushi Bar for reasonably price sushi. Very good selection of sushi, and you just can't beat the prices. They have some fancier rolls just over $7-$8 ie. Dragon Roll, Rainboll Row, rolls with fruit and cream cheese.

They also serve  bubble tea and gelatto but I have yet to try it. Overall it's great place for a quick bite to eat but don't expect spectacular ambiance. I'll probably be ordering take-out from here more!

I haven't eaten food here, only dropped in on my continuing quest for a nice bubble tea, so I'm commenting on the service and bubble tea alone.

When I arrived it took some time for the behind-the-counter server to acknowledge me despite the fact that was standing directly in front of the counter, and she saw me come in. There were not many custmers in the place, so she wasn't busy.

I ordered a bubble tea. (Milk tea plus pearls)

I waited just over 10 honest-to-goodness minutes (I checked my watch), standing there because I kept having the hope that the next time someone came out of the back room, they'd be holding my drink.

When it came, the bubble tea was uniformly awful. It wasnt chilled enough, and there was no hint of tea in the light beige liquid: only a ridiculous amount of powder "cream" and sugar The pearls were vastly undercooked, and there were about half as many as one might expect in a similar-sized cup anywhere else. All this handed over without apology for taking so very long, or a semblance of friendliness.

    Never again.

I have never eaten in the restaurant, but I have ordered delivery from them many times. This is probably one of the best sushi places in terms of food quality, taste and price.  I really like their special rolls which in my opinion are a step up from your average or typical rolls.

Brown rice available for extra cost.  Open late unlike many other sushi places in the neighbourhood.  Lots of people in the restaurant so I felt confident there is high turnover in the food (something super important with sushi).  Didn't take too long for me to get takeout (10 minutes).

What an awful first meal in Vancouver!  I stumbled upon this place quite by accident, and am shocked to see that it has an average rating of 4* (from only 5 reviews, mind you).  My experience wasn't consistent with this at all.

My wakame salad was warm and gummy, and my chirashi bowl had some very mealy and mushy cuts of fish in it.  On top of that, service was pretty terrible: first, I was asked to move tables in the middle of my meal (!), and then I was overcharged on the bill.

WOW! CHEAP sushi and SO GOOD! We had a party of 12 and ordered so much! We each ordered either a bento box, 2-3 sushi plates, bubble tea, and one of their cooked tray $28.99 and the total came to about $12 per person! What a DEAL! UNBELIEVABLE!

Every single dish was delicious. There is not 1 item on the menu that you won't be able to find that you would like. I ordered the tofu bento box. I've never seen a tofu bento box in any of the sushi restaurants in San Francisco  and it was so satisfying! I ate slow so I could savor every moment of those bites! The tofu was fried so perfectly and melted so nice in my mouth. *drools*

Service was fast, place was very clean. They mostly do take out and there's free delivery from 5pm.

I've lived in Vancouver for 2 and a half years and Nishiki's is still my favorite Sushi place by far. I live in South Granville (right on broadway) where there are many sushi places to choose from, but Nishiki's is worth the drive.

It's always nice and clean in there, the staff are very friendly, the food is the best sushi in Vancouver, and the value is amazing. I don't want to say cheap, but it's definitely inexpensive.

My only complaint is that it can take awhile to get your food sometimes when they are busier, but it's always worth the wait!

Nishiki is hands-down, one of my favourite sushi dojos of Vancity.

Their servings are more than fair for the price that you pay; in fact, I'd say that we get the better end of the deal, here.

The place itself is quite small, but I've never had to wait to be seated; it definitely seems to be a hidden gem on the corner of 49th and Vicky.

The staff are also friendly, and never oblivious to your needs.

Recommended randoms: yam fries, agadashi tofu, ebi sunomono.

Score: they build a tower out of your yam fries! Architects, eat your heart out- literally.

Only had their sushi once, it was alright, not a big sushi fan so no more comments on that. What must be noted is that their bubble tea really sucks. I ordered green tea milk tea with pearls, it was ALL powder, the powder wasn't shaken very well either, and the pearls were not fully cooked and I could taste the interior starchy part - in powder form. It also wasn't very cold. I had to wait for about 5 minutes for them to realize I was there, another 5 minutes for the woman to figure out how to order my drink, and more time to make my drink.

Not the best atmosphere or decor, but if you're interested in decent priced sushi then this could be a place to try. Their more creative sushi rolls like Dragon roll and Caterpillar roll taste better during lunch hour. There may be a different chef that works in the evening. I'm not sure about the shashimi and other items on the menu because I usually just order the sushi. An alright little take-out place, but not for glamourous dates.

The service can be slow at times, especially during peak times. But their rolls are great! The Phoenix roll and King Kong roll are standouts!

We have visited here a few times over the years. I had forgotten about the bad service we received here a few years ago which made us stop going there for a while.
Our most recent visit reminded us of the level of bad customer service which this place is possible of.
Firstly, when we arrived it wasn't very busy.  Our waitress showed us to our seats, gave us our menus and some tea and then disappeared for a while.  When she returned she served someone who had come in after us which prompted my honey to wonder if we'd maybe somehow ordered and forgotten about it... made us both shake our heads.
Once we placed our order it arrived in good time.  But while we were eating the place started to get busy....and our waitress had completely disappeared.  We watched with amazement as the cashier, who was also answering the phone dealt with (or mostly ignored) the customers appearing in front of her.  One gentleman had arrived to pick up his order which he'd called in.  The order had been lost.  He managed to remain calm despite being frustrated and disappointed and while he is giving his order (again) to her face, she cut him off to answer the phone.  Woah!!!!
Another customer who had arrived and was seated was ignored for about 10 minutes until he walked up to the sushi bar and gave them heck.
We waited patiently for our server to return with our bill and finally went to stand in the lineup at the cash.  We were ignored for about 10minutes even though we had told the cashier we just wished to pay for our meal.  She completely ignored us and did not even acknowledge us.  She even ignored us when my honey told her that if we didn't get our bill we were going to leave.  Only once he was walking out the door did they decided they'd like to ring us through.
I nicely asked what had happened to our waitress and the cashier chose to ignore what I had said as well.  Disorganised.  Rude.  Terrible service.
    We will not return.

Excellent food.  Good Value.  As others have said, maybe not the best service.  But for take-out it's great sushi.  I haven't had any hot dishes, but all the rolls I have had are great.  Good quality fish as well.  You won't get better sushi in Vancouver without payinga significantly more money.  THis is not a place you go to for the ambiance or service.  It's about good quality, imaginitive food at a fair price.
