Blush city. This is a spot I've noticed from afar, but never properly introduced myself. Its display window of cheeky lingerie gives the general idea, and it was yesterday that I opted to take this relationship to the next level.
The door was propped open; come one, come all. Sightings of lingerie, panties, crotchless tights, and bejeweled everything provided an eye-full, and I decided to take my time through each section.
For the most part, the lingerie wasn't of my own preference. I'm all for dressing up, but a lot of the selection appeared more tacky than sexy. A wee bit of the cliché sleaze going on here-- I didn't see any lingerie outfits that I'd be down with. Although they did have some cute boycut panties to offer... but I'd like to see some sexy outfits with a little more understated sexy- that whole "less is more" thing! Adorning every lace, ruffle, bright color and obnoxious fabric into one teeny garment is not the answer.
The back of the store-- the "18 and Older" section-- is where things start to get naughty. Random racks of apparel, costumes, and separate rooms for vibrators and other toys... there is plenty of selection to sort through. Shelves upon shelves, its a lot to take in, but the staff seems versed and approachable.
There is even a room solely dedicated to bachelorette party gear. Wonder where people get those ungodly penis straws? Night Magic shows customers that just about anything can be transformed into private parts.
I'm not sure if I'd opt for a final purchase here. The lingerie may have set off a less than classy tone to the store for me... and I'm more partial to the organic vibes of Venus Envy, just down the way. But Night Magic certainly offer a spectrum for sexxy times, and the staff is sweet as well.

Oh Night Magic. Ever since I was a kid driving around downtown in the backseat with my family, I remember the window displays giving rise to many an awkward question: "why do those pants not have a bum part, mom? What are tassels for, dad?"
Even today, they still manage to find costumes that leave me with more questions than before-outfits pulled from the Mean Girls school of costume design, meaning just enough fabric to communicate a theme of sorts.
Beyond the windows, the store is a treasure trove of sex toys, gadgets and accessories that will have your eyebrows raising at least once. Pumps, fake orifices, lotions, handcuffs, stagette necessities, and more are all unceremoniously tossed into bins, baskets and shelves ripe for the rummaging.
To be completely honest, the place always feels a little dodgy. It's just dark enough to feel wrong, merchandizing can definitely use some work, and even some of the products look dangerously dated. Venus Envy, it ain't.Listed in: They're bringing sexy back.

I'm with Ben and Laura on this one, this place kind of skeezes me out a little.
The store does have a wide variety of merchandise, from lingerie and costumes, to toys, to oils and lubricants. However, though I have bought a couple of things here in the past, some of their wares aren't really my style, and the store itself has a weird vibe for me. It's kind of dark, which adds to the skeeze factor, and a lot of the toys and such are just kind of stuffed and crowded onto shelves, it always gives me a little bit of sensory overload. I find some of the staff a little, for lack of a better word, creepy as well. Some of them (and one in particular) tend to hover and watch me and whoever I'm with the whole time we're in there. Once a staffmember even consistently made comments and jokes, smiling somewhat creepily, every time I picked something up. It was a little off-putting. But I don't like hovering salespeople at any store, it makes it harder for me to enjoy exploring the shop if I've got someone breathing over my shoulder the entire time.
A lot of the lingerie and costumes I actually find pretty tacky, but I'm not really a feather/sequins/googly eyes (yes, one time I actually saw an interesting little number with large googly eyes on the chest...not that I'm judging, to each their own...) kind of girl.
All in all, I, too, much prefer Venus Envy. Give me a sex shop where I can wander uninhibited, without obvious judgement, and with staff who are happy to answer my questions without feeling the need to follow me around the store like a bored child , and I'll be a happy girl.Listed in: 30 Days of Yelp!, I'm Too Sexy For This List

I've made it a mission to head into all of the local sex shops. Yesterday, I took a little browse through Night Magic.
It's a lovely old building, with exposed brick walls and large windows. Upon entering, you'll be greeted by many colorful outfits, of different styles sizes and themes. The man working was extremely friendly and approachable. The vibe was comfortable and clean.
Towards the back of the store, you will find a few different rooms featuring a variety of adult products, magazines and toys. The selection is quite large, from novelty products to items for the seriously adventurous individual. Take a swing by - you may be interested and surprised to learn what's on the market!Listed in: Mention Sex

Night Magic Fashions pretty much has it all. Every type of toy, lotion, gimmick, movie, wig, novelty and costume you could possibly imagine.
The costumes are of particular note at night magic. If you're ever in a pinch for a halloween costume and generally enjoy the sexy (insert profession: nurse, teacher, bee) then this is the spot for you!
Generally toys and props for any proclivity. Quite an expensive spot but perhaps you pay for what you get in the night costume apparel department. -

Gotta love the store. Housed in DT Halifax it is a great location almost tucked aways from those prying eyes that you feel is watching you when you enter in the doors. It is funny how some people can get when I say hey let's go to Night Magic.
I am like a kid in a candy store. I was in here as well during the Halloween season and WOW you want to check out some wild costumes ranging from as low as $25.00 to $300 depending on what you like. As well they have a wide selection of sizes even plus.
Not only do they carry costumes they have a few different sections in the store broken into movies, shoes boots and then a room housed with all the adult fun toys and gadgets. The staff there are really great and make you feel very comfortable with asking questions or giving their opinion on certain things.
Stop by and step out of your comfort zone who know you might just love it. -

Night Magic is a great store in downtown. The building has a lot of character to it and so does the inventory. This is all a good thing.
They carry a great selection of outfits, I would like something for everyone.
The costumes vary in price, medium to high end. The staff are helpful here.
The back of the store will allow you explore the toys and lubricants etc to spice up the sex life. Again , all healthy stuff!
Stop by and have a look.
