Worth it! (Especially if you purchase a Fun Pass!) Excellent view for photos and temperature controlled pods. You can turn off the music as well (piped in music, makes it very cosy.) The ride is long and does a few full rotations- and somehow, you always end up stuck at the top for a while, which is amazing for photos (but scary if you're afraid of heights!) I just wish there was more of a "handle" inside the pods- very intimating looking down over the falls! Love this attraction, though, touristy or not- the best way to see the Falls besides the Maid of the Mist!
(Tip: buy a $21 Fun pass for access to the Skywheel, the wax museum, the arcade, the ghost blasters ride, and mini putt!) -

I am really into Ferris/Observation Wheels.. not actually riding in one.. but they just looks so good in my photos... I just love taking photos of them!
Niagara Skywheel is Canad's Largest observation wheel. For $10+HST you can go on for a 10 minute or so ride and look at Niagara Falls in a different perspectives.
The Skywheel also is a great backdrop for the other amusement park like activities in the Clifton Hill area.
Photo time!! -

If you've never been it's worth it to try it once. Mind you that it is really expensive $10 per person for something like five to ten minutes. Sure you get some good scenic photos but if you spend too much time taking photo's you don't really enjoy the view for what it is.
During the summer they boast that it is air conditioned which is cool but afterwards you leave feeling ripped off. As someone mentioned go and look for coupons at the pamplet area in teh hotel. -

This thing was awesome! It gave us the chance to take some amazing pictures, and it was well worth the money!
One problem I had was that I cast aside my fear of heights, that was a really big mistake, so I won't be doing the Skywheel again, but I am really glad my wife was able to get some photos.
Tip - When we were here they offered us a package card thing that gets you admission to multiple attractions for one price. DEFINITELY do this, it saved us a ton of money! -

If you're in the area, go on the skywheel. I was debating whether to go on it during the day (you can see the city) or at night (Niagara Falls with the lights on-but the rest of the city is dark). I opted for the day ride, it was a great view, but the cost for my 8 minute ride is debatable.
I must say it is a bit pricey so I recommend going to the Tim Horton's across the way, get a coupon book, and rip out the $1/pp coupon out to help cut your cost. Just a suggestion. -

I never actually got to experience the Falls Tower Ride before it became the Niagara Skywheel but nonetheless in Niagara even a neighbouring Torontonian becomes a tourist and does the routine attractions.
Niagara Skywheel($9.99) where you can find various Tourist Booklets that give you Dollar off or allows you to be a combination package. The rude and uncaring girls at the booths were offset by the friendly happy gentleman that operated the ride.
During this season, no line ups during the morning and yes we went during the morning so we can see the view properly before the sun sets around 5 pm. We stay warm in the climate control cabin and had guided instructions for a few buttons.
Skywheel isn't an amusement ride but it's more of a tour ride, so don't expect to have the same feel as if you get off a roller coaster. It's a completely stable non-wind shaking Ferris Wheel which loses some of the excitement but it still looks good as a WHITE color based attraction nice for photos.
We were able to see the US Falls and the Canadian Falls were a bit further to see but can just squeeze it in. We looked to the opposite of the falls and it just seems to be a small town area aside from the Clifton Hills colorful attraction displays.Listed in: 24 (Niagara version)

A much needed break from all the walking around, the Niagara Skywheel allows you to sit in an enclosed air conditioned box with tinted windows. The wheel is 175 feet high, and the ride is three revolutions on the wheel, or about 10 minutes.
The windows are tinted to cut out the sunlight and thus allows you to take photos with ease. When your box reaches the top, you get excellent views of both the American and Canadian Falls, as well as the Niagara River.
They should consider making this a longer ride, especially for the cost- maybe 6 or 7 revolutions, especially when its not busy. A must do when in the area.Listed in: Niagara Falls, USA and Canada

I loved this part of my trip the best. Partly because I timed it perfectly that I was on the Skywheel right when it hit midnight on NYE.
The wheel is open 10am-2am and I loved it. The ride is 3 rotations and is about 8 minutes long.
The cost is about 8 dollars CAD if I remember correctly. -

The Skywheel was a lot of fun. My wife and I decided to try it when we saw it (even though she generally doesn't like heights). It was $10USD each for three revolutions on the wheel.
The wheel had glass-enclosed heated cars (which was perfect for the time of year when we went). The view of the Falls was really impressive.
I would recommend checking out the Skywheel if you're in Niagara. -

Reinvigorating the falls, and Clifton Hill in particular, with new and exciting attractions seems to be the mandate of the past few years. Though the process isn't anywhere near complete, the Skywheel is a step in the right direction.
The view from the top of the wheel is spectacular day or night. I've gone for both and personally I enjoy the serene view in the early morning, but if the night is your preference, you won't be disappointed.
All of the cabins have air conditioning for hot summer days and it's a good thing because the cabin is almost entirely glass to get you the best view. One cold winter nights, the cabin stays nice and warm, though it can get a little scary for those not so comfortable with heights (like my girlfriend). The slightest move will have the entire cabin creak as it sways with your body-weight.
The crew is kind and helpful. The cabins seat up to six, but they will usually let you go two to a cabin. However, if it is a busy day, you'll probably get stuck sitting with a couple of strangers if you're not in a group of six.
The Skywheel is included in a bunch of deals around town that include some of the other nearby attractions. I would suggest it if you've never been. It's an interesting way to see the Falls. Not to mention, it breathes new life into the area in the night with it's lights. -

This is a must go, especially at night! It was the first Ferris Wheel experience for me, judging from movies it seems like a pretty boring ride just spinning in circles. However, when I went up there, it took my breath away. The view was gorgeous!! (Warning: the following line is a bit corny!). Being up there with my boyfriend made it a great night. It is soooo ROMANTIC!! So for them gentlemen out there, bring your lovers up there !

Very cool. Did this with the hubs at 10pm on a friday. It was great! The fireworks show over the falls was starting just as we got on. Nice bonus & the hubs felt proud to take credit for his awesome planning/timing on that one. Fully enclosed gondolas (is that what they're called?) & awesome views!
We got 5 (or maybe 6) revolutions for $9.99. (There is also a pass you can buy for 6 attractions for $30 that's good for a year to do all 6 things once.) -

You get a nice view of the Clifton Hills district and the falls. It is also has air conditioning for comfort in the summer time. For about $10 a person for about 15 mins, it is not as good of value.

Long wait - 50 minutes, short ride (maybe 4 times around), parents think it was a waste, kids thought it was "good" to "great" but did not like the wait.....they did like when we stopped at the top (to load others) and when it "went around". We did get our car as a family (5 of us) and the kids enjoyed pushing the buttons for lights and to mute the sound.
Otherwise nothing great, I would skip it unless the line was really short.

Great views from the ferris wheel. The kids loved it...three rotations. A big of line during the weekend.

Pricey if done on its own. If you're going to do it, there's packages to do it to make it worth it. Prefer it in the daytime as well, though a lot would assume the night is better. Very comfortable, safe ride.

Review from Christina C.
The actual ferris wheel is okay. It''s kind of boring because it goes around so many times but I guess they want you to get your money's worth?
IF i ever go to Niagara Falls again, I probably won't ride it again. There were these 2 EXTREMELY RUDE girls working at the ticket booth and completely ignored us for a good 5 minutes and even while we were paying they were having their own conversation and their mannerisms were not friendly at all. My friends and I could not believe how rude they were and have never been treated that way before.
I don't know if it's maybe just the town resenting tourists but it was definitely not a fun experience. -

A must do!!
Great views and very fun experience for all ages. -
Review from Julie R.
eh, not worth all the hype because you don't see much of the falls. This is located in the little down town fun area and looks awsome from a far but when you actually ride the Skywheel, its not as great.. true, you are up there getting a view of everything, but then again, you can do the same at the top of most hotels. I say its not worth the money, go miniature golfing or to Ripley's or something else or you can go and get a fresh waffle cone thats made right in front of you. Or syrup. Just saying

My kids liked it, which makes it worth the $10. The view is great and it feels great to get out of the cold and take a look. It's a great spot for pictures too. Do it.

I hate ferris wheels and heights, but the view from this was really nice at night. Unlike traditional ferris wheels, you get to go in an enclosed box which plays relaxing classical music as it goes around.

It's a wheel, goes into the sky a bit, gives you good views. It was $11.95 a head for us and we got four spins on a cold, windy day. Nice to be in the climate-controlled bubbles and have a look around!

If you ever go to Niagara Falls the only way to go is to drive over to the Canada side. Once you're there and you've done the Maid of the Mist there's only one thing left to do and thats to hit Clifton Hill with its stores, activities, and restaurants. The SkyWheel is one of Niagara Falls newest editions and one of the coolest things to do in town. Its a 175ft Luxury Ferris Wheel with amazing views of the city and the falls. They call each cart a "gondola" which is fully enclosed, air conditioned and lit as well as styled with comfort in mind. No strapping down here. I remember this being about $15 so its pricey but its well well worth it!

It's a Ferris Wheel that overlooks the city. TAKE IT AT SUNSET on a clear day...YOU WILL BE BLESSED at the MAJESTY OF GOD'S CREATION
