This is truly a first class operation.
Anyone looking to start an aerial tour company needs to fly with these guys to see how they do it.
For the traveler it's a lot of fun. Try to schedule your ride so that you don't have a completely full aircraft and you'll have a virtually private tour.
I've hired these guys for tours, charters and for an engagement. Wonderful service, attention to detail, and they deliver an exhilarating tour of the falls. -

So now that you have watched that, are you sitting down yet? It is pretty exciting stuff, eh?? Well being in the actual helicopter, although it feels way shorter than it actually is, is simply a thrill. The helicopter lands, you run up to it, under its beat propeller blades, you are trying to hold your hair back, not trip, and then you climb into the seat, you are buckled in, head phones go on, and then you are up up up into the air.
Be sure to BRING YOUR CAMERA WITH YOU. The photos I took from this helicopter and showed to my family and friends made them think I should take up photography, because the views you get are unbelievable, breathtaking, and spectacular. Words cannot even describe how it feels to be up so high, in a helicopter that is moving so quickly that when it turns to give you another glimpse of these amazing falls makes you feel a little bit of the g forces acting on your body. My brother's face lit up with joy. He looked like a little kid at christmas!! Except with his eyes open even wider than usual!
To see the falls up close is one thing, but if you have the money, and even if you don't, you should save up for this experience, because it is probably something I will remember for the rest of my life.

History
Established in 1961
In early 1985, the Niagara Falls portion of Pan-Air was purchased by Niagara Helicopters Limited's President, Ruedi Hafen.
Over the past 10 years, Niagara Helicopters has invested a great deal of both time and money to upgrade and maintain a helicopter fleet, which is at the cutting edge of technology. Today Niagara Helicopters is almost exclusively a sightseeing operation, augmented by charter flights, aerial surveillance, film and photography, external loads, and other specialty flying. In addition, the company has been awarded several community service awards for providing helicopter assistance in search and rescue operations conducted by local police and firefighters. In 1999, Niagara Helicopters was awarded the highest honour for excellence in aircraft maintenance by Transport Canada.
Yearly, the company flies over 100,000 passengers from all corners of the globe, on the regular 9 minute, 27 kilometre flightseeing tour over Niagara Falls.
Meet the Business Owner: Ruedi H.
Born in 1953 in Switzerland, Ruedi trained as an architect at HTL Engineering College, graduated with a bachelor degree in Arts and Engineering. Later became a helicopter pilot with Heliswiss. In 1981came to Canada. Canadian helicopter pilot license he received with Pan Air Helicopters. Next three years Ruedi spent flying tourists over Niagara Falls and shuttling Geological Survey staff to and from sites in the Northwest Territories. In February, 1985 he bought the Niagara Falls operation and began business with a run-down property with a short-term lease, several dilapidated buildings and one helicopter. Today, after 30 years of flying and over 30,000 flying hours, the only sounds Hafen hears are the gasps of thrilled customers. Niagara Helicopters is the star attraction worldwide, a model of quality and goodwill others aspire to. Ruedi is one of most internationally recognised business owners with numerous of tourism, entrepreneurial and other commendations. Meet Ruedi in person!
