Review from Lance W.
5 Stars for the View! I was "Wowed" when I walked into my room and could literally see down into the Falls! Even better, I could open the window and hear the roar! I had coffee each morning overlooking the falls and listening to the roar... A truly memorable experience...
As a Marriott elite, I was upgraded to a suite that had a separate bed room and sitting room. The sitting room overlooked the Falls. The suite itself was very large and very modern. My 9 year old son was with us and he slept on the pull out sofa in the sitting room.
The location is fantastic for viewing the falls but it's a trek from the hotel down to the falls. Riding the hillside train contraption is the quickest way down and costs $5 per person for the ride.
The Exec lounge was stocked well and also has a good view of the Falls if your room doesn't.
A great property, I can't imagine any other hotel that can compete with the view and amenities. -
Review from Abbe C.
My husband and I came here to spend 3 days of first part of our honeymoon. We were on 17th floor which overlooking both the American and Canadian's Horseshoe Falls. The view was breathtakingly beautiful. The hotel is located almost toward the end of Horseshoe Falls but it gets a view of both Falls and definitely a place to stay!
Internet is not free and cost about $9.95. Parking is around $21.
There's a tour that runs about 5 hours which pick you up and drop you off from the hotel. If you only have 1 day to spare, I suggest you sign up for the tour. It's about $95 + tax per person and it also comes with a $10 shuttle pass which you could use later to venture to the city on your own later the night. The tour gives a pretty good overview and history about the Falls and the general area.
There's a food court just walking distance in the next casino hotel and has plenty of choices such as italian, Tim Hortons, sandwiches, etc. My husband and I are huge Tim Hortons' fan. So, we couldn't resist getting their breakfast BELT for one of our breakfasts! My husband absolutely love their iced cap and it doesn't matter if it's like freezing outside, he will always get one!
The breakfast buffet in the hotel is pretty decent for $18 per person with a view next to the Falls.
My only complaint is that we didn't get house cleaning service. Not that it's a big deal. We were thinking maybe it's a off season so they might cut back on staffing or we just simply miss the service. -

The hotel is very nice and the view from our room was amazing. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. The only thing they don't tell you is that on top of all the government taxes they slap another one called T.I.F tax. (tourist tax). They attach it to every bill without you knowing about it. But it can be removed after.

Review from John C.
We stayed here during a recent trip to Niagara Falls.
We had not originally booked a Fallsview room but asked about an upgrade upon arrival. They had one available and we took it. $40 for one night was WORTH IT. The room was lovely with a marble foryer. A large bath with shower, WC, and soaking tub with doors that could open into the bedroom.
Basically the room was a suite because it had a second sitting room that featured the FANTASTIC view of the falls (and we were only on the 10th floor). It's amazing how you can just sit and watch the falls for so long without even realizing it. Mesmerizing.
We ordered food into the room for dinner and just sat in the sitting room and ate as the sun went down and the falls lit up. Loved it.
Now, I didn't love the "tour desk" that I confused for a Concierge of sorts. We went up to ask a few questions about the sites and we immediately roped into a presentation for a 5-6 hour tour for $130. We got a bit of a nasty look when we turned down the tour at the end of presentation because we didn't have enough time the following day. I'm sure these ladies get paid on commission but it would have been nice just to be able to ask our typically touristy questions.
As others have mentioned nothing is free here. :)
Parking - $20 a night
Internet - $10 a day -
Review from Alysha R.
Just came back from a quick weekend up to Niagara Falls for Easter...and I have to tell you... this is the only hotel you should stay at - simply for the view.... I spent my childhood being dragged up to Toronto at various times.. because I have family there...and the stops at Niagara Falls for other visiting family members were torture for me.... Fast forward to adulthood.....I decided to return back for a visit....and also to show my friend around... who had never been.....and I must say...it was a great visit.....
After reading countless reviews...and almost booking at the Doubletree (just because I love Aveda spas).... I quickly changed my mind when I studied some maps....and realised that the Niagara Falls Marriot Fallsview....was seriously... directly across the street from the falls... All of the other hotels are up the avenue.... and after taking a 30 minute walk outside....and seeing where the other hotels were.. I could have made a terrible mistake.... this is the ONLY hotel you should stay at if visiting the falls....
I booked a 2 night package.. which included breakfast vouchers for the buffet....a $70 dinner voucher for their in house restaurant (Terrapin Grille)... - which we did not use... terribly overpriced...and reviews weren't stellar enough for me...and some other free coupons for shuttles back and forth to the casino.. (I don't gamble.. didn't use them).... The package I chose... gives you a room on floors 5-9 for the best view... We actually got room 1028 - 10th floor... AMAZING view! Like literally looking dead center at the Canadian Falls.... you could sit on the bed or the chair and stare at them all day... and the evenings are the best... which is when the falls are illuminated from 8pm -11pm in different colours.
We didn't rent a car... so no high parking charges for us.. the mall and shops in nearby Clifton Hill are all near enough for walking or taking a taxi.....There is a spa/heated pool downstairs.....giftshop....& Starbucks in the main lobby....and a back entrance that lets you walk over an overpass... then down to an area to view the falls ....and then straight over to the mall/main avenue if you keep left.
They have a very good tour desk in the lobby (Magnificent Tours)... booked with them for the following day....and it was great.....no complaints.. great driver *Tony.... and got to see everything....
Beds were comfy... bathroom was clean.... Bath & Body Works bath products.... (nice touch)....and the views were priceless.....
Would definitely stay here again.... -
Review from L L.
I was there twice in their falls view rooms - once on the 12th floor and once on the 23rd floor in a 2 room suite. The views of the falls were similar - both were great. However, I paid dearly (and so would you) for the views of both the Horseshoe and the American falls - actually, I thought the price of the rooms were outrages in any standards.
The breakfast in their restaurant was decent and one of the servers there (I forgot her name but remembered that she was from MA in the US) was one of the best - very professional, friendly and attentive. I left her a big tip. Don't try their restaurant for dinner unless you have money to burn.
My issue with the hotel was the once-every-half-an-hour shuttle service (it did not start until 10 am - a bit late for an early bird like me). Because this hotel was out of the way from the main / tourist actions (e.g. the falls and the Clifton Hills), you would have to cough up around $10 per trip on a taxi if you did not want to wait for the shuttle bus.
I would recommend that you look into other Niagara Falls hotels like Sheraton or Crown Plaza which were more centrally located and some of their high-end rooms offered a good view of the falls as well. -
Review from Melissa H.
This is a fabulous hotel, one of Marriott's best. The view was incredible and I enjoys waking every morning to that wonderful view of the falls. Staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. What a great Marriott experience. Their restaurant was pricey but so worth the dollar. Morning breakfast is a must, delicious with lots of choices.
See you next year, I will definitely be back. -
Review from Hector M.
Question: Is it possible to look at a waterfall for 4 straight days?
Answer: Yes.
After I booked a getaway to Niagara Falls, I was wondering why I booked it for 4 days. Don't get my wrong, its an unofficial Wonder of the World, but there isn't much to do in this tourist trap of a town (2-3 days is more than enough). If you eat at one place, do yourself a favor and have breakfast/brunch/lunch at Paris Crepes Bistro (http://www.yelp.ca/biz...). Its about a 2 mile drive from the hotel, affordable, and a great meal.
This hotel sits right above the waterfall and has perfect views. I decided to stay here due to all of the reviews that I read about the smell of smoke in Embassy Suites' rooms. I upgraded to a higher floor to get a better view. The room looked like it needed a renovation and seemed a bit cheesy - there was an electric fireplace in the living room area, older carpeting, and a jacuzzi with a sliding door view of the bed.Listed in: Hotel, Motel, Holiday Inn!

Review from Matthew A.
We also upgraded to the top 23rd floor for $20 more per night. It was def worth it as the 23rd floor was newly renovated and the views were f'ing spectacular. We felt like kings. The view! Wow!
The room was very clean and had all the comforts of home and more.
Tip: Just steer clear of the mini bar ($7.00 bottles of water) and the hallway vending is no better.
Bring your own water & snacks.
Another tip: Since we upgraded to the top floor, we were eligible to use the concierge lounge which was not communicated to us.
This lounge has even better views, free food, water, drinks, light breakfast and snacks, fax, wi-fi, and more. Sandy, out cleaning lady told us about it. Thanks to Sandy, you are Awesome.
Also Kathy who works in the lounge is also very helpful & friendly and gave us so much great info on the area.
Now the negs: $20 parking COME ON!
Tip: There is PLENTY Of parking lots for under $10 day within walking distance. Don't let Marriott scam you on parking.
Also Wi- Fi is extra. Plenty of hot spots to jump on. Free.
Also: I can get US AT&T signal on my cell phone so I got free wi-fi, email, calls, etc as we are so close to the US border. This was unexpected and a bonus.
Our package also included free breakfast & $75 voucher for a dinner at their extremely overpriced on site restaurant, the Terapin Grill, which I will review separately. -
Review from Jenna G.
We paid for the falls view and were not disappointed - it was fantastic! This was our first time visiting the falls, and it was so wonderful. I didn't feel like I had to be out with the tourists the whole time. I must say that the bed was THE MOST comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in. Down pillows, comforter, super soft mattress - I could have stayed in bed forever!!! Room was very spacious, clean, and close to the ice machine.
Cons: The service sucked. The front desk staff was just not very friendly. The food in the hotel is also quite pricey, which we also discovered most of the restaurants right in that area were quite expensive too.
We paid $300 for our room, and it was well worth the falls view - especially if you've never been there. -
Review from Andrea D.
When the ad said that this hotel is the closest to the falls, I didn't know if I should believe it. We paid extra for a falls view and it was worth it. The view from the 6th floor was spectacular. Even better though was that the service was spectacular. We will definately go back to this hotel. Also, I am often very wary of hotel restaurants. However, we had breakfast at the hotel both days (included in our package) and it was great. Some of the biggest strawberries I've every seen in my life! Plus, the waffles and the omelette staion were great! The pool isn't anything to write home about, just a pool. If you're looking for a water park, go to Great Wolf Lodge. We were more interested in site seeing around the area, so the fact that the pool isn't top notch was okay with us.

We upgraded to a higher floor ($20/night) but it was worth it to hear the "wows" from the family. Very clean, very neat.
Only downsides: $20 parking (come on), No free wifi (really, it's 2010 you know) -
Review from Carol S.
This hotel was one of the many hotels that sits RIGHT by Niagara Falls, but I had a weird experience!
My family split up into 2 different rooms, and since we booked our rooms with a 3rd party, my parents got a REALLY nice view on a top floor and we were placed on the 2nd or 3rd floor. It still had a nice view, but once we opened the curtains we saw HUGE GIANT spiders everywhere!!! Luckily they were outside, but they were SO GROSS and wiggling everywhere! It truly ruined our view because me, my husband and sister are all TERRIFIED of spiders!!!!
So I called and asked if someone could possibly clean up the spiders, hose them down or whatever since we were only on the 2nd/3rd floor (there was a platform right outside our window) but they said they couldn't do that. So they moved us up a couple flights up to a different room, but that window had only 2 spiders. We had to semi-shut one curtain to avoid looking at ugly, fat black spiders. *SHUDDER*
Other than that, our experience was great! I only wish that spiders wasn't in my first impression of this place! I wonder if anyone else had this problem??
I'll try to post some spider/window pictures. -
Review from Richard D.
There is no question will be back! From the moment the valet opened our door and welcomed us, to the moment he closed are door and thanked us for staying with them this is a top-notch hotel. The view of the falls from our room would've been hard to top as we had an enormous picture window allowing us to see the fireworks, thunderstorms and lights illuminating the falls at night. I'll be recommending them to anyone I hear of looking for a relaxing vacation that's not too far from home.

What do they say? Location Location Location? I had no expectations for staying in a Tourist Trap like Niagara Falls. I had not been there since I was a child 40 years or so ago. We were on a trip to visit my family in Rochester NY but found we saved a few hundred bucks flying in and out of Buffalo from the west coast. Since we had to drive to Buffalo to fly out, we thought "Why not check out the falls the night before?" My spouse had never seen them and I did not remember them at all. We booked the room only a few days before leaving. Even though it was February, surely an off season for the area, the room seemed very reasonably priced for a view room. My spouse booked the room and had read online that one should ask for a view above the 12th floor or so.
All I can say is Wow! What a great value! We got a room on the 21st (or so) floor with a commanding view of the Canadian falls. You could hear the low (but not at all obtrusive) roar of the falls and that just added to the experience. It was breathtaking. The room was excellent with a generously sized spa tub and a faux fireplace/heater. Two comfy chairs perfectly placed for a view of the falls. The bed and bedding were large and comfortable.
The staff was worthy of luxury hotel. The room was very clean and had all the amenities. Valet parking was reasonable though I am not sure you had a choice. The bellman and desk clerk kind and friendly. They had printed cards waiting for you with directions to the nearest state run liquor store should you want to buy a bottle of sparkling wine or other wine instead of room service. A nice attention to detail. One negative is they were still trying to charge for WiFi/Internet access. In my opinion this option, if network access is available at all, should be totally free. In this day and age it's not an 'optional luxury'. I feel that is a nickel and dime mentality not worthy of the rest of the Hotel or its location.
We ate dinner at the Terrapin Grille. I was intrigued with the Frommer's review but skeptical as always of restaurants in hotels. They tend to be over priced for mediocre food. Again the Marriot Fallsview exceeded our expectations. I had the signature sea bass with cilantro chili and a raspberry reduction. It was excellent. My spouse had the filet minion which was cooked perfectly (medium rare, more on the rare side). Our waitress that night was helpful and gracious. We never felt she was impatient even though it was a slow Tuesday night in February. The entire meal was under $200US and that included wine and a cocktail. Of course the view was grand! We asked if we could get the dessert to go and borrow two champagne flutes and were told 'of course!' If I had any 'negative' comment at all on the Terrapin Grill it would be "Place it a few more floors up!"
That night we spent a few hours just nibbling at the chocolate dessert and sipping a local sparkling wine staring at the falls. What great overnight stay! I am sure rates will be more during the Summer tourist season, and perhaps the service not as attentive either with the crowds. But in February, if our experience is typical, go. You'll not regret it. And ask for a falls view room above the 12th floor!
Four stars only because the WiFi should be free. (Update: Valet was $20 a night. Compared to San Francisco @ 50(!) its cheap. And that is Canadian. But $20 is stil $10 too much.) -
Review from Julie D.
Loved staying here. The location is really amazing! We had a room on the 22nd floor overlooking the falls. Plus the room had a fireplace and cozy window side chairs. We liked the massive jacuzzi tub. Plus you could open up the shutters and see the falls from the tub. Way cool. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Niagara. Plus, our room rate included a visit to their morning brunch. Awesome!

Review from Lisa M.
The hotel is, indeed, the closest hotel to the horseshoe falls on the Canadian side, which has built up over the the last few years and now resembles a very Las Vegas-like strip of hotels and attractions.
The hotel itself was nice, the rooms are newer in decor and do offer an excellent view of the falls. Through the hotel lobby, you can directly access the tram that takes you down hill the to the Niagara Falls visitor center, or you can take a leisurely 20-30 minute walk along the strip.
Was surprised that in a "down economy", they were still charging over $300 for a one-night stay, but the location is worth it. -
Review from Linda S.
Booked this hotel on http://www.hotels.com which claimed it was the closest to the falls... and to my surprise they did not lie! This was the greatest hotel location in all of Niagara Falls. Beautiful hotel, amazing view, really nice staff...
We had a room on the 12th floor with a falls view (that was a requirement for me!) The first thing I did was throw open the drapes and take in the view... breathtaking! We were right in front of the horseshoe falls and had an amazing view of all of them.
The lobby connects to the walkway which takes you right to the downhill trolley which leads to the falls and all the attractions. We, of course, got the pass to do everything and it was nice not having to go very far to go back to the room.
Had breakfast at the restaurant on the mezzanine floor. Nice view. Buffet style with omelettes made to order. Not bad prices, although there are cheap breakfast buffets all over Niagara - this was nice and close!
Totally worth the $$ to stay here and the 4-stars it's been awarded. -

I have to say I love this hotel!! From the service by all staff, the cleanliness of the rooms and the view of the falls! This was our second visit to this hotel and both times were amazing! Upon pricing all the hotels in that two block area, they were the second cheapest, but one of top nicest hotel! The cheapest was the Marriot Gateway right across the street. They knew we were visiting for my birthday and upon welcoming us to the hotel they provided me with a nice Marriot box of chocolates which was nice! We also opted for the $20 upgrade to the Jr. Presidential Suite. What a room and what view of the both the American and Horseshoe Falls!

One year later, I return with my family to fulfill my husband's parents dream of seeing the falls. As we cross the border, you can tell they are so excited and the excitement builds as we pull up to our ... 'favorite' hotel here. My husband and I share the stories of our first time here, a wonderful memory. We check in to a family suite with a stunning view of the horseshoe falls.... Mission accomplished! Or is it?
As we settle in, we notice the remote on the couch in the siting room. Another person asks if one of us used the hotel glasses so soon after arriving. We review the beds to realize these we slept in!!!!!!! The room was never cleaned from the last person who stayed here. Mr. S doesn't even know that I have his folio (he paid a very reasonable rate of $388 a night). He doesn't know we learned he enjoyed some yogurt and a couple of water bottles last night. It looks like his family enjoyed the view as much as we wanted to, but checking into a dirty room took that away.
Luckily, my family is easy going, forgiving people. They didn't mind the crumbs on the floor or an army of cleaning staff apologizing as they cleaned our room. I, on the other hand, was embarrassed for selling this hotel as top notch when for $800 a night, we got dirty sheets, garbage, and an unsanitary bathroom. Shame on your management, Niagara Falls Marriott. Your disregard to customer experience is very disappointing. I believe this location has forgotten that it is your level of hospitality that determines your ranking. And this location is no longer a 4 diamond hotel in my eyes.
I can no longer recommend this place for a family stay. Aged rooms at $800 a night, a $43pp breakfast, and lack of pride in your service is saved only by this location and the fantastic view it provides. But the are alternatives on the strip, and in the future, I will be trying it's neighbors.1 Previous Review: Show all »

We have stayed here twice in the past year each time visiting Niagara Falls. This place has never let us down, it may be one of the priciest hotels in the area, but the view is amazing and the staff is exceptionally accommodating and courteous.

Can't say that I actually stayed here and can't review the rooms but the service is outstanding. We had planed to stay here for an anniversary weekend and had the Junior presidential suite booked. When we arrived we received news that our room was ruined due to the negligence of a guest who flooded the tub and there was quite a bit of water damage. The staff got another hotel near by to honor our rate and we still were able to have our meal plans accommodated for us. We had a great weekend otherwise and if we ever have the chance to stay there again we will.

A very nice hotel and a surprisingly wonderful restaurant there - the Terrapin Grille. First, the hotel- we had a family suite on the 6th floor, the view of the falls was still pretty good. Nice indoor pool, jacuzzis, sauna, etc. I highly recommend the restaurant. The food was very good - we had red snapper, filet mignon. Waitress Suzanne was fabulous- from punctual service to making excellent recommendations for our food and wine selections. Also, of course, the view of the falls from our dinner table was great too.

This is easily the best Hotel I've ever stayed at. I have had the pleasure of staying in a number of different rooms and room configurations and they are all awesome. This is not your average stay, it's expensive but well worth it if you can afford it (no I'm not braging it was a treat for my girlfriend and I). Take advantage of it's location to visit the Falls and the Cssino. You won't regret it...

I'm not sure if any of the reviewers giving this hotel a 4 or 5 star rating have ever stayed in a 4 or 5 star hotel. Fake dusty plants and flowers were all over the lobby and public areas. This complimented the "Granny Decor". This hotel needs a complete updating and overhaul. The room features peeling wallpaper and out dated decor. The fallsview whirlpool suite had windows with a large bar running horizontal through the center and several vertical bars obstructing the view. The window itself was only able to be opened 3 inches. There was no view from the whirlpool at all;because the bed completely obscures it. The dining room is decorated like a Holiday Inn banquet room. The breakfast buffet is ordinary--similar to one you might find at a Hilton Garden Inn---For TWICE the price! The dinners are outrageously priced as well. The hotel was pleasant enough due to the excellent location;but on all other counts I would not recommend it.

My wife and I stayed here for three nights for our honeymoon. The couple's spa was very nice. The view of the falls was great we stayed on the 16th floor. My parents paid for the trip as a wedding present but approximately a month in advance we left my wife's card on file so we could reserve a room. As we were leaving the front desk did tell us that it would be charged on a different name (being my parents) once we got home we noticed that the 1,200 dollar payment went through and I am still trying to get the credit put back on our account (the hotel did state they would pay for any fees! We will see). Our intent was not to watch tv but before we left for the local attractions we would turn on the tv to see what the weather was going to be which had very poor reception, I had to call the front desk on Tuesday to have them pick up two breakfast carts that had been left for over 16hrs in rooms that we had been between. After coming back from Toronto after watching a baseball game around Midnight the valet (seemed to be only one on duty) person seemed to be over worked and gave us an attitude for pulling our vehicle in the Marriot so I could get it out of the road. When we go back to the Fall's in a few years we have no intention staying at the Marriot. But will look into the Sheraton on the Fall's which appeared nicer.
