What started out as a laugh turned into a really fun night at the Newfoundland Social Club. The goal was to blend in as sexy single Newfoundlanders in our mid-30's, lonely and a little tipsy and looking for love anywhere...including a social club in the Burnside Industrial Park.
So we dressed up in our finest turtlenecks and crossed the bridge. Imagine our surprise when we arrived and the Social Club was packed!
Even though we had assumed the identities of 30 somethings we were still about 20 years younger than the rest of the "young" clientele. The Newfoundland Social Club was packed with seniors line dancing and flirting and having a great time!
I purchased a few fairly priced drinks and eventually struck up a dance with an established (older) lady named Joan. We had a laugh and she told me I Was the youngest guy she'd ever seen on the dance floor at the club. I told her she was the prettiest girl I'd ever seen in the club. Laughs were had by all and a genuinely enjoyable time was had by all.
Overall, this place was a real treat. We had a great time and I would probably go back someday. My hope is that Joan will be waiting there for me.
