You can get New Balance shoes in a lot of stores, but the selection at their own store is better, as you'd probably expect. As someone in the upper size range, that's especially important to me.
I picked up a new pair of hiker/walker style shoes here, after completely wearing out my old New Balance shoes (it took many, many miles). Lately, their styles tend more toward flashy cross-trainers (not my favourite), so it came down to only two pairs that fit the look I was going for. The sales guy was helpful without being obtrusive, and after a lot of back-and-forth, I made my choice. They haven't fallen apart on me yet. -

You don't want to cheap out on your feet, especially if you're a runner.
This New Balance is literally right around the corner from me, so it couldn't be more convenient. It's also a great spot because they run workshops for runners (I have yet to do one....but they're THERE and I WILL in the NEW YEAR).
Also, I have yet to go in there and not be greeted by a very friendly and knowledgeable staff member. Two big toes up for that! -

I'm a fan of New Balance shoes because they are prettier than the other brands. I shop at this place because their Klean Kanteens are cheaper than other stores. Most other stores jack you with these products but they are well priced here.
