Absolutely, hands down, one of the best places for Indian cuisine in Edmonton.
It appears pretty fancy from the outside, so my husband and I never ventured in. And the decor is every bit as fancy as expected. But the prices were a surprise. We went for their dinner buffet, which was $20 per person, completely competitive with ANY Indian restaurant in Edmonton (only place I've been to that's cheaper is Punjab Sweets in Millwoods, and their food tastes even cheaper than the price tag)!
When our server found out it was our first time there, he took us up to the buffet to show us all of the options, and let us know each of their vegetarian options that day. Granted, he went into great detail telling us what each dish was, not realizing we are very experienced with Indian cuisine. But I am sure it is an experience any first-timers would thoroughly appreciate. He also had the chef demonstrate how they make naan from scratch, which was very interesting, indeed. They can make roti, plain naan, or garlic naan upon request.
I would have preferred another vegetarian option or two. Love the variety of chutneys, though, and they have the most fantastic dessert bar I have ever seen for a buffet!!! -

I went here for the first time last night (for a Valentine's night out :) and I absolutely loved it! I'm a huge fan of Indian food anyways, but it was particularly good here. The buffet was great, and it didn't have a buffet taste (if that makes sense, the food hadn't been sitting out for ages and they were constantly bringing fresh stuff out).
The service was excellent too, the second we finished our drinks the waiter was right there to bring us a new one. Am definitely going to be coming back soon! -

I was so excited, when the New Asian Village opened up in Clareview, because I was really getting sick of eating at fast food restaurant chains. It's nice to have a restaurant that is not only ethnic, but also fairly classy on the North side of the city.
The inside of the restaurant is beautiful. The décor is a mixture of traditional and modern, and I really like the tables that are enclosed within curtains. The privacy is nice, because then I can eat like a pig without feeling self-conscious.
Nothing is better than an Indian buffet, and this buffet is huge. There are so many choices, and they include the most popular dishes like butter chicken. tandoori chicken, and chole. The vegetable korma is my favourite, and it is the most delicious I've ever had. There is also a chef who makes fresh naan bread throughout the evening. You can also order from the menu, but I suggest going for the buffet. It is $19.99, but you can eat as much as you want and have almost unlimited choices; not to mention, there's an appetizer and dessert bar too.
Yes, the food is spicy (not super spicy), and yes, it makes my nose run like crazy, which is kind of gross, but I always leave this place feeling like I'm going to explode (my stomach, not my nose... well, maybe both). I just can't help it; everything tastes so good! -

I have gone to the New Asian Villages on the westside, along Saskatchewan Drive and now here on the northside. This would be my favourite location, although I may be a little biased since I live 15min away. This is their newest location and their booths have curtains draping as the entrance- nice touch!
I always go for the buffet since their buffet has everything I want, including their butter chicken and for dessert their mango custard. YUM! I admit the food is a little spicy but still delicious. And I always leave stuffed to my stomach! I took one star away because at times their service can be a little slow, but since I always go for the buffet its difficult to judge whether or not this differs depending on whether you are ordering off the menu or self-serve. Someone does come to bring you your drinks and checks back every so often to clear the dirty plates but mostly its self-serve and pay at the end. -

I only come here when I'm really hungry...and I always visit the buffet. Its huge so many things to try. I don't even know exactly what I'm trying, but it looks good, and taste good. Needless to say, the food here is very good and variety well need I say more. The decor is really cool, kind of takes you away to another place, at one point I really did think I was in India, so a 5* was looming in my head, but I came out of that trance, so I'm giving a 4 * instead.
