Review from Bessy N.

Let me be clear, my rating is purely based on my dim sum experience.
It.
Was.
Excellent.
First Dim Sum I've had in Halifax that threw me back to my Sunday AMs on Spadina after a long night of something or other.
Excellent selection. Fresh.
Friendly (and funny) service.
I'll definitely go back. I've heard their Chinese food is actually quite authentic (vs. the Canadian Chinese food crap we're inundated with here in Halifax).
Yours, in food. -

I tried their takeout but was disappointed. The egg roll has some type of curry paste inside it which isn't bad, but isn't an egg roll either. I had the chicken and broccoli which was fairly bland. The sauce had no flavor and the ratio of broccoli and onions to chicken was skewed. On top of that, I asked if there was a fork in the bag and there was no fork or napkin. When staying in a hotel, those little things called utensils are important! And the final straw...they charge for white rice? Is this normal in Halifax? I have never been to a Chinese restaurant in the U.S. that charged for white rice.

If you work downtown, then this is a great lunch spot. Service is warm and efficient and the lunch specials are really reasonable...typically they include soup (today was egg drop soup), an egg roll (quite different to what I'm used to, but delicious), fried rice and one main for $7.95.
My husband had Stir Fried Beef & Broccoli that was lightly flavored and I had the Honey Garlic Ribs...not because they are the healthiest thing on the menu, but because that's usually my measuring stick when it comes to Chinese-Canadian dishes. This one did just fine.
The regular menu has a wider range of authentic Chinese dishes (best for sharing - in my humble opinion). Admittedly the portions were a lot bigger when they first opened, but the flavor is still delicious.
Another plus is the size of the restaurant...large enough for groups and definitely large enough that there's very little wait time even during peak hours. -

New Asia is pretty much my main choice for Chinese take-out because of how convenient it is to my apartment. I can walk there and be home eating within 10 minutes... it's awesome!
The food at New Asia is pretty darn delicious. I'm always satisfied with the food I bring home from this place. They have a large menu to choose from, which is nice when you're looking to change up the usual menu.
I've never actually eaten in to this place, but it looks like it would be a nice dining experience. No matter what time of day it is there is always someone eating inside, which is a good indicator of the quality of food and service.
It still remains my favourite for take-out, not only because it's delicious but because it's so so convenient for me! -

Excellent Chinese food. Had the General Tao Beef - very tender beef (and lots of it) and a very tasty sauce. Friendly service. Only down side is a very limited drinks menu but the food more than makes up for it. Can't wait until we are back in Halifax so that we can go again.

If I posted a review two weeks ago it would be close to 5 stars. I was completely blown away by the quality of the food, the portions, and the service. I had shanghai fried noodles and rock salt tofu. After being completely satisfied I couldn't wait to go back and get the shanghai noodles again. I also thought I would try something new. To my extreme disappointment I was served Singapore noodles, and the house veggie dish was bland, mostly all bok-choy which isn't thrilling, and the green peppers tasted mouldy. After explaining to our server that I had in fact ordered the shanghai noodles, she asked me if I wanted the Singapore noodles packed to go, to which I tried to explain further that it was not what I ordered, and I did not want them. Period. It didn't take very long for the proper dish to come, but to my shock I was still charged for the Singapore noodles which I didn't even try, or order, or want. Sadly, I do not think I will ever be returning, despite how delicious the shanghai noodle dish is.
