This is my favourite place for produce in my neighbourhood. They have a good selection and prices are much better than across at Safeway. If you're on a tight budget they have bags of fruit and vegetables that need to be consumed right away, often for a really low price like a couple of bucks. Good for juicing or soups.
They're also good for various spices and sauces, crackers and beverages. They actually have quite a few Asian items and every time I go I'm pleasantly surprised to find what I need. Take your own bags if you can! -

i love this shop. i've been coming here for 9 years. it does not have organic nor flowers and i wish they had better chip brands... other than that i get all my produce here and usually do my entire shopping here. lineups are decent - whereas a trip to Safeway across the street can take 30 minutes to get in and out.
the staff is friendly to me as a regular and on the 2 occasions i have had to return something, they were fine with it.
they are open every day. even christmas they choose to stay open. -

Great place for cheap fruits and veggies, but for staples like cereal and dairy, go to a full-service grocer.

This store is a friendly, less crowded option to the Safeway across the street. I was in here yesterday (one time of many...) and was reminded just how much I like it.
The bulk feta is the best deal in town, plus it's of a quality that passes my cheese-lover test. If you're making spanakopita and don't like spending $10 just on feta, go here and the ingredients cost will be cut in half.
Add in the occasionally bargain berries, butter lettuce, great pasta varieties, and cheap coconut milk and you will keep you coming back for more. Another big plus is that Apple Farm Market accepts credit and debit cards, unlike a few of the cash-or-debit-only spots a few blocks south in the produce heart of Broadway. -

New Apple used to be my favourite veggie grocer. Over the past couple of years, the quality of their produce has declined, but their prices remain fantastic - especially for canned fish.

Way cheaper, fresh produce than Safeway! They sell all sorts of other things too like an array of Liberte Mediterranean yogurt flavours, gluten free pastas, tortillas, milk... It's great to have nearby and a welcome relief in an already high-priced neighbourhood.
