I've used the New Apple Market regularly for 15 years, despite it being out of my neighbourhood.
When in Kitsilano, I'm always sure to pop by, because it's clean (spotless), with great quality produce, a wide variety of other staples, and fast, attentive staff.
With the Wednesday 10% off deal, it's a smart plan to get your organic eggs and yogurt here, too, since it's reasonably priced at normal times. (And all the Asian staples like rice, various sauces, cheap packages of spices, and other things are here too, including big bags of Hon's Potstickers.)
There's a Cob's Bakery across the street (and Solly's, too), with a Safeway and Broadway Wine Merchants, all within 1 minute's walk, so it's a great get'er done corner. -

New Apple Farm Market was a great market with cheap prices and good produce. My partner and I went in there with no intentions of buying anything, but left with two bags full of produce due to the great prices. The ladies at the counter where quite friendly. There were a surprisingly wide variety of items at the store. Note that there are two sides to the store and that Wednesdays are 10% off days.
And as always, Have Fun!!! -

Don't want to spend $10 on 1 papaya? Don't want to spend $40/bag of produce? Want good quality? Go to New Apple!
Hot tip: Wednesdays are 10% off days. -

New apple. What to say, other than it's a cheap place to buy veggies. Why go to no frills when you can get cheaper and better looking produce here. Yeah, the staff aren't overly friendly or accommodating, but you're not paying for that. I've been here a hand full of times, but I plan to be back whenever I need some cheap veg.
Organic section: very small, very weak, but I didn't come here for that. -

Used to love going here for fresh produce and almost all my grocery shopping since its so close to home but recently the owner or manager was very rude to me while shopping. Until I saw another customer with a dog in the store I assumed they were not allowed. Staff were fine with the other dogs so I brought mine that day and this time (7 lbs, non shedding) and the owner kicked me out on my way to the till even after I explained dogs were in here the other day. Maybe let your staff know and post a sign before being so rude as Vancouver is a very dog-friendly city. I understand the health concern so shouldn't it be a rule straight across, not just for some customers? Will try to find another regular produce store to support now.

Guess what Yelpers, you don't need to be 55+ to get in on envy-worthy mid-week discounts!
Customer appreciation Wednesday at New Apple Farm Market = 10% off your grocery bill. I'm going tomorrow, and awarding the coveted 5-stars for a smart new offering from this Broadway produce vendor.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I disappeared from Yelp restaurant reviews for a while since I've been cooking at home more often these days! Then I figured that I should start reviewing grocery stores!
New Apple is my go to place for my vegetables and fruits in the neighbourhood. And yup I only shop on Wednesdays where the already awesome prices get discounted by 10%!! I love the fresh veggies and fruits here and for the last month have been getting bags and bags of the fresh tomatoes on the vine here and just ate them like a fruit snack because they were just so flavourful. The prices are pretty reasonable and comparable to Kin's farm market (my other favourite place to shop if I went out of Kits). I try to buy whatever is in season to get the good deals.
I also like that New Apple has the can/packaged goods too - asian/ethnic seasonings, curry paste, tomato sauce, etc so it could be a one stop shop for groceries! -

Cheapest fruits and veggies close to home - but for dairy and staples like cereal and pasta, go to a full grocery store.

As I'm sure any Vancouverite can tell you it's of the utmost importance to find an Asian-run local vegetable grocer if you want to not get sunk by the produce prices of the Choices and Safeways of our world. That said these places can be seedy, ripoffs and disgusting if you aren't careful. Luckily I manage to live a few blocks from New Apple Market, the best one I've ever dealt with.
New Apple shines mostly for it's selection which includes almost equal amount western and Asian ingredients. I can pick up white bread and taco chips just as easily as Gai Lan and preserved spicy bean curd without any huge shift in price or quality. They have a huge selection of pastas, meats and dairy which is also usually unheard of in these mom and pop stores. They rarely let their prices rise or the quality of their vegetables completely diminish before rotating their stock either.
When I started off I just went to New Apple to supplement my groceries with produce but now I make New Apple my first stop and only resort to the big chains when I really need something that they can't provide. Probably poptarts. -

I went here because I couldn't find any decent asian ingredients for my meals anywhere else in Kits. These guys are great! They have fresh lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, miso paste, mirin and more. Really friendly and helpful staff too.

This a clean and orderly small grocer with all the "normal" vegetables and fruits that you would get from Safeway across the street, but at lower prcies. Also I tend to think that the produce that I get there lasts longer, but that might just be in my head. Along with the typical produce, they also have the random asian ingredients that I crave. It's great that there is a place in the heart of Kits to get instant noodles, bok choy and all the sauces you would ever need and not have to go to T&T!

This is also a great place to keep in mind if you want fresh flowers to zazz up your table. I am looking at ten very satisfyingly fluffy pink peonies I got for $2.99 per bunch (5 in a bunch).

It's lovely to wander into this store and ogle the fresh produce and to check out all the organic and Asian food choices. This store does a great job of competing with its much larger grocery store counterparts by maintaining an excellent selection of not only produce but many other grocery items to keep your pantry well stocked. Come here for noodles, rice, Asian sauces, organic cereals and for the overall cleanliness and very, very reasonable prices.
