Review from Rich T.
Yes there is a Safeway in town but if drive just 10 minutes then there is a wonderful high end supermarket. The fish is great and the meat selection terrific. The veggies r wonderful. For instance we had corn that was absolutely sweet in march.

Mmm...I'm going to give IGA more credit than this joint. This place is legit and is a full on market...but the prices obviously reflected the prices tourists are always hit with when on vacation.
Service is nothing spectacular here, but they smile. -

Screw the IGA, Nester's is where its at. This is the local market and has much better prices. I was able to host an American Thanksgiving while I was living in Whistler for $12 a person. It would have cost a lot more if I went to the alternative local markets.
There a great selection of health food store products. The produce selection is vast, the deli is huge and fresh (hey, I may be a veg but my friends aren't).Listed in: Whistler Eats, Shop Whistler

Billed as where the locals shop. It was cheap a few years ago, but now the prices are on par with the other grocers in town.
The selection is greater than the others and the goods are a bit higher end than available at the other local grocery stores.
The aisles have some space and the staff is friendly. It's a bit difficult to get to without a car. I come here usually when I have a car or someone with a car is shopping. I don't think I would go out of my way to shop here. -

We stopped by to get some food to prepare for breakfast before going out snowboarding and snacks to devour after our long days in the snow. You can get Cornichon flavored Lay's Potato Chips (My new all time favorite flavor EVER), Boylan's Black Cherry Soda, smoked Sockeye Salmon, and tons of very fresh looking produce. I also picked up a postcard and some stamps while I was there. Super convenient and very clean.

This place is legit. We came here to buy some fish for dinner and left with fresh salmon. The guy working there took the time to guide us through the fish selection and gave us advice on how to prepare it. While I was looking down the aisles for gravy to make my California rendition of poutine I noticed that there was a good selection of health and speciality food. Wonderful little market with friendly people. Way way better than the main market in Whistler.

For my first non-restaurant review, I have to yelp Nesters Market as I love walking up and down its aisles staring at the speciality products and appreciating the dietary subtleties that distinguish Canadians from their southern neighbors. Nesters has a great meat/produce department, albeit a little small given the size the of market. How many places in the US can you find four different types of salmon looking oh so good? If you love red meat like I do, you would appreciate that the meat here looks, again, oh so good and so well-marbled. Seafood is a bit pricey (but hey, it's Whistler), for example, expect to pay $79.99/kg for Alaskan king crab. Overall, the produce here are generally fresh with the exception of the organic stuff which tend to look a little wilted. Nesters also has a very nice gourmet cheese selection and don't leave without getting a loaf of some great bread. Love this place!

Review from Pete S.
nesters is the best grocery store in whis. this place has better selection, better prices and a nicer atmosphere than the grocery store in village square or the iga in marketplace. you'll need a car to get there but it's definitely worth the extra time to grab your groceries.
