Review from Tanya R.

Man, I have so much to say about Billy Martinez, owner, teacher, involved in the community (art program with Joan Kroc center), Comicon participant, book creator, art events participant, and devoted family man. Billy does it all, and does it very well.
My 9 year old daughter has been taking classes at Neko for several months now and she absolutely loves it! She gets to work on what interests her, instead of the methods taught at all the other art studios for kids where you pick out a drawing, and you copy it essentially. Here she gets to learn technique, and express herself with what inspires her at the time, with her own characters she envisioned.
Billy offers a gentle hand, and subtle approaches with huge learning impact. Very patient, and loves to help and teach kids. Not only does he teach art, but also allows his kids to channel their energy with their art, and express whats in their minds and hearts with their pen and paper.
Kids of all ages come together, and sit at this is sort of a roundtable, which creates this feeling for the child of being a part of something, a collective, even though they are working on their own separate piece of art, they are able to be who they are and draw what they like, with of course, the patient guidance of Billy Martinez.
His style of art is more on the anime side, and his kids learn to draw their full of expression characters, monsters or people in all kinds of situations, and they have fun playing around with their movements and facial expressions, as well as the wacky environments some of the characters might find themselves in.
The age range varies quite a bit, not sure how young he teaches, but my daughter is 9, and he teaches adults as well. His flexibility is so great if you need to switch days or times.
Excellent job Billy and thank you!
