I don't always eat food at pubs, but when I do it's at the Neighborhood!
The Neighborhood is a pub, not a restaurant. So, the wait can be a little long. I've never had to wait longer than 15 minutes for two people. Seating a larger party can be difficult, but what awaits for you inside is worth the wait. The food can also take a little long, but keep in mind it is a pub and they probably have a small kitcken. So, have yourself a cocktail or apps.
The inside has a nice pub feel. There are some TV's to watch the games on and such. I love the animals heads mounted on the walls haha. Expect this place to be full on Friday's and weekends, but during the day it isnt too bad.
--Food review:
My girlfriend and I started off with the popcorn. It's nothing fancy, just popcorn, parm cheese and truffle oil...but it's damn good!
The girlfriend had the grilled cheese and tomato soup. Again, it is not fancy, but they make it soooooo gooooood. The tomato soup was creamy and delicious.
I like to consider myself as a burger connoisseur and the Neighborhood burger has to be hands down the best burger I've ever had! The Blue Gruyere cheese isn't too strong that it over powers the meat and the caramelized onions are a nice addition. What really amazes me is somehow they get the bun to have this crispiness that has a nice texture to an amazing burger.
I've ate lots of burgers in my life, some ranging from $1-$30, and in my mind The Neighborhood Burger is by far the best!
--Service:
Great service! The staff is very welcoming and is always friendly.
--Bar:
I don't like to drink during my meal, but they do have a full bar.
So, how good is this place? Considering i've been a member of yelp and have not reviewed a place once until now, It's pretty http://bomb.com -

I wish Neighborhood was in my neighborhood!
I had a great experience here. The bartender was patient and helpful while I indecisively browsed the west coast breweries that were unknown to me. All of her recommendations were spot on, and I've got some new favorites to keep an eye out for. The draft prices were incredibly reasonable. And they've also got some pricey bottles that might impress the strangers around you, if that's your thing.
I had already eaten before I arrived, but I got some of the mac and cheese while I drank. It was solid - better than bar food needs to be. I will definitely make a meal of it on my next trip to San Diego. -

I rarely crave hamburgers. My friend recommend this place saying it was the best burger place in SD. We had the Neighborhood burger and Jalapeno Mac and Cheese. The burger was DELICIOUS! Satisfied my craving. I love mac and cheese, so I have to get it everywhere I go. It was good, but it wasn't as mind-blowing like others raved about. We got the medium spicy because some people mentioned that spicy was TOO spicy. Next time I would try the spicy. The few bites w/ jalapeno was the best part. I also loved that they serve the water with a slice of cucumber
My friend and I got there around 6:15 and we didn't have to wait at all. The service was really good and attentive. The food came out pretty fast.
I enjoyed the pub, chill atmosphere alot. I gave it a four star because there were fruit flies everywhere so I found myself waving away the flies alot. Other than that, I would recommend it especially for the burgers! -

This place caused quite the dent in my wallet.
I get it, Neighborhood. You're located downtown and your food is satisfying; however, that does not give you the right to rip me off 4 p.m. on a Wednesday afternoon. There's this thing you should probably consider trying; this thing called happy hour.
I ordered a drink, and it cost me $10. No bueno. The salad was okay, but the portion was super small. Another $10 for rabbit food with no meat? No thanks. -

This place has a great selection of local and non-local drafts. All of the girls (only girls were working while my wife and I were there) were very knowledgeable of their beers. The beers my wife and I tried were all served in the correct glass for the types we tried.
The onion rings were very large and tasted ok. The dipping sauce served with them was ok as well, nothing special though.
Prices were decent for downtown during happy hour. Would rate it a four and a half, but most of the girls were attractive, so I will round up -

We ended up at Neighborhood this past weekend after not coming here in a while.
I love the open air metal design of this place. We were lucky that we were seated right away just shortly after writing our party name on the chalkboard (and on a Friday night too!). We did get one of the tables where half your party is seated inside and the other half is outside. As long as I got to sit on the inside, I was okay! :-)
Service is great. I love that water glasses are refilled quickly and contain thinly sliced cucumbers!
They do have a great beer list and a nice selection of Belgiums! There is a small selection of wines and an even smaller selection of cocktails (only 2 signature cocktails!).
This time, I ended up ordering the Beet burger since I have been curious about it for quite a while now. It's interesting. The patty is pink, but tastes like potato with some lemon. It was okay, but I wouldn't order it again. Stay away from the chorizo corn dogs, unless you desire heartburn for the next 24 hours! The pork puns were excellent. They were juicy, flavorful, and more like a pork sandwich instead of the traditional pork bun.
Overall, I haven't been impressed by their food menu. It's more of a bar for those who like beer. For cocktails go into their "hidden" cocktail lounge Noble Experiment. We always end up there. Just a tip: Sign up on the Neighborhood chalkboard waiting list and proceed to the back beer keg wall/door and get yourself on the Noble Experiment wait list. This way you have a table at NE once you are done at Neighborhood.
And yes parking can be a pain to find in the area, especially if there is a baseball game going on. It's easier parking in the Horton Plaza parking lot and walking a couple of blocks. -
Review from Jeff S.
Biggest problem I have is when people rant and rave about how good a place was and I go, it the food just doesn't meet my expectation.
Everyone says the Jalapeno Mac and Cheese was mind blowing. Maybe I didn't get it spicy enough cuz it was bland and boring.
Everyone says the Sweet Potato Fries were astounding. It comes with this vinegary sauce which threw me off, and the fries tasted like sweet potato fries I could get at my local burger joint in Mira Mesa.
What however blew me away was what my friends didn't recommend. The Neighborhood Burger was honestly very amazing. The patty was juicy, and the flavoring was good.
There normal potato cut fries were really good. It came with garlic aoili sauce and it was excellent. I like Garlic Fries that are usually drenched in oil and garlic, but this was another great take.
I sampled a few other peoples dishes and they were all equally impressive. I guess my point is, don't be disappointed if you hear all these amazing things from your friends or Yelp and make a snap judgement. See what is on the menu that may interest you and try it. I was really happy with the food I randomly ordered.
Also ask for the sauce tray. My friend got a tray of sauces and they were really good. -
Review from Nida K.
Neighborhood is an awesome local's spot. I love the vibe here and the fact that it's not in Gaslamp. I think that's what probably gives it that "neighborhood" feel. I've been here a handful of times, and even though I liked this spot before, I was most impressed this past time I went.
My friends and I were DT for a night out and we were looking for some dinner. It was around 5PM and I called Neighborhood to see if they had a table for 6 and if there was a wait. The lady on the phone told me she'd put my name on the board and it'd be about 20 minutes, which worked out perfectly since it would take us that long to walk from our hotel anyway. When we arrived at Neighborhood, there was an open table waiting for us. I was so happy we didn't have to wait because we were all starving. I ordered the Jalapeno Mac 'n Cheese - medium ($7) and split the Spicy Rubbed Cajun Burger ($10).
The food probably took about 20 minutes to come out, but when it did we all started stuffing our faces. Yeah, the conversation practically came to a halt while we chowed down. I've gotta say that the Spicy Cajun burger is better than their Neighborhood burger. I like the pickled flavor in the Spicy Cajun and they cooked the patty to medium, just how I like it. The Jalapeno Mac 'n Cheese is amazing! My boyfriend even said it's the best mac n cheese he's ever had. Just be warned that if you order spicy... it's intensely SPICY. It'll clear your sinuses for sure. The Kennebec fries as well as the Sweet Potato Fries are also really good. I also love the Garlic alioli here.
Gosh, Neighborhood's food is really good. I've gotta say this is one of my favorite spots in Downtown. It's more laid back than what you're used to seeing in the Gaslamp District. They've got a ton of beers on tap too, so not only is it a great place to eat, it's a cool place to drink too!Listed in: When in Gaslamp (SD)...., The Ultimate San Diego…, Burgerlicious

Excellent food and beer!
Came here on a Saturday night. Ordered the san diego sampler. I was so impressed with our server. I originally ordered the Sextant stout but they were out. Opted for the sampler and she brought me great mix od local dark beers.
We ordered the jalapeño Mac & cheese, sweet potato fries, deviled eggs, strawberry spinach salad, and the black bean burger. I wasn't sure what the others in our party got but they were all very happy with both their drinks and their meal. A few stayed and visited the "inner bar."
Overall, it was a great dining experience and the service was excellent. Be warned, it can get loud and crowded. In fact, I accidentally got elbowed by someone in a group who was hanging out a little to close to our table. -
Review from Andy D.
I finally got one of my lovely Yelp friends to meet me for lunch today. She said there was a nice Italian place in Little Italy she wanted to try, but then decided on Neighborhood. I wanted to try this place for a while, and I love going downtown.
I left work early, and got there about 2:15. I was surprised how crowded this place was at the time. It was also a lot smaller than I expected, but was really nice. We found ourselves a small table right away.
We both ordered the Neighborhood burger, while I ordered the Kennebec fries, and she ordered the Sweet Potato fries. The burger was pretty good, but nothing spectacular. I love good flavored fries, and these were delicious. We both sampled each others, but preferred the ones we ordered, so I guess we ordered right.
They also put cucumbers in the water, which I'm not sure if I've had before, but I didn't notice any difference. It's definitely a nice little place, but I'm still searching for my favorite burger place.Listed in: North Park-Downtown Lunch, Burgers and Fries

We were visiting friends in San Diego, and our initial plan was to go somewhere else on this rainy Sunday morning... but after trying to get into 3 other restaurants and driving around, we ended up here at the NEIGHBORHOOD! GOD send! We were sooooooooooooooooooo beyond hungry, we just wanted FOOD! We sat down at one of the tables, and were brought menus promptly. The cucumber water was refreshing.

I loved everything on the menu, but decided to try their Neighborhood Burger.Perfectly grilled burger with blue cheese, carmelized onion and blue cheese!

My friends tried their 4 cheese grilled sandwich with tomato bisque soup,
http://www.yelp.com/bi...
their steak tacos,
http://www.yelp.com/bi...
and Pork Belly Melt.
http://www.yelp.com/bi...
Everyone loved their dishes, but the tomato bisque soup needed something. My NH burger was very similar to Father's Office burger ( in LA), and I must say it was equally tasty. No complaints. I loved their decor and took a few photos.

Clever and funny. Next time I am in this "hood", I will definitely check out Neighborhood. I wish the NEIGHBORHOOD was in my own "hood". -
Review from Bill B.
Pretty good experience. Staff was great, drink selection excellent, food is ok.
On a Thursday after 8, it can get crowded so be prepared to wait. Bartender (Suzan T) was on point helping choose wine and beer (there's a lot of great stuff to choose from). Our server (Liza R), was also on point. Food and apps came out at perfect times, no complaints there.
Food itself was so so. Jalapeno Mac N Cheese was great, but my burger was just ok. Bun was a little soggy for my tastes, but the meat was cooked to medium as I requested, so props there.
Crowd was a mix of people getting super dressed up to super casual. Come as you are or want to be.
It seems to be a pretty reliable, cool spot worth checking out. -

San Diego, CA
my good friend just alerted me that neighborhood was at 999 reviews. since i have yet to review it after a few experiences there - this is just too tempting to be 1,000!
i will say this: the house burger (the neighborhood burger) is simply devine. definitely one of my favorite burgers in SD. Simple and doesnt have try to be delicious...because all the components are high quality and combine together wonderfully. Caramelized onion/, blue gruyere cheese/ pepper greens along with quality ground beef -- are you salivating yet??
i shared the burger and im a bit sad about that! its hard to share something so delicious :)
everyone talks about the beer selection here. beer beer beer, crafty, hoppy, good. yes, of course. neighborhood combines a great beer selection and delicious spot on bar food along with a lively atmosphere (super crowed on weekend - and even more after a home game!). hard to not enjoy it here!Listed in: Feeding my Carnivorous…

San Diego, CA
I've been here multiple times and have never been that impressed. Food is overrated and beer overpriced. Out of all the times I've been here I've only had one good experience, and that was because of the server, not the environment. When I tried to compliment her to the manager I received a roll of the eyes and a look that could be interpreted in no other way than "Really? That girl?" Why is it so hard to believe to managers that employees actually are good at their jobs?! I probably would've came back another time to enjoy overpriced beer (they do have a good selection after all!) but after the way management acted toward their staff I want no part in paying their salary! I rather go to Bootleggers....

Great vibe and love the lay out.
Didnt get a chance to taste the food but their beer selection is suppose to be amazing. I probably wouldnt come here for the beer. I'm not a beer person but I've heard their food is pretty good. I'd definitely come back for that. Another thing I'd love to check out next time is their hidden little lounge in the back called Noble Experiment that I was able to briefly sneak a peek of.
It's a small hidden bar with about 4 small- 2 seater booths and a bar. You'll never guess it was there unless you see someone coming through their keg wall that incorporates the hidden door. The bartenders are suppose to be incredibly talented. I think they call them mixologists? They pretty much look at you and can make anything you want on the spot as if they're psychic.
Reminds me of a little speakeasy. I'll be back to check that out. =p -

"Meh" is right....
My husband and I found this place to stop and get a *quick* bite to eat while visiting San Diego this weekend for our anniversary. We walked in and we quickly figured out this wasnt a place for us, but hunger won and so we decided to give it a try.
Strike #1: No word from anyone that worked there for about 10 mins... Walked in and sat ourselves while I'm assuming the lady that looked like a manager sat on her laptop and phone. She made eye contact with my husband yet said nothing...
Strike #2: Other people that arrived AFTER us got their food before us and far faster. It shouldnt take over an hour 1/2 to get 2 burgers and fries prepared.
Strike #3: Even though our waiter was nice, he was far from attentive and even if we were planning on drinking more the lack of coming to our table when it was hardly busy made it hard to even get water refills.
The only saving grace was the food... Even though it wasnt what we were expecting, the burgers and fries were tastey, hence the 2 stars. I guess we were thinking of more of a sit down restaurant and traditional burger rather than a pub that doesnt cater to non locals.
We certainly wouldnt return to this place even though the food itself was good. The particular "feel" of the place isn't welcoming. San Diego has many more places more worthy of my $ & time. -

My friend visiting from out of town wanted to try some local beers, so I took him here. The bartender recommended the burgers over the other dishes (I wanted to try the braised beef ribs), so we got the Neighborhood Burger and Spicy Cajun Rubbed Burger and I loved them both!
I usually think restaurants that don't serve ketchup are necessarily snooty, but these guys have it on point. They offer a plethora of housemade dipping sauces that are LEGIT. If I could stomach down burgers without worrying about gaining weight, I'd come here on a regular. -

They have a great selections of drafts - tons of microbrews. If you're a beer lover, look no further. Most of the dishes are great and the portions are of decent size. If you're looking for something healthy, this wouldn't be my first suggestion, but it's well worth the calories. I'd say the best way to describe this place is...Gastropub. It's one of my favorite places in downtown San Diego.

Review from Lica N.
Came here to meet up with friends after dinner. I didnt get around the place to see how big or small it was but the bar area was pretty packed. Luckily the friends we hooked up with had a table so we were comfortably seated.
Obviously since we had just eaten we ordered beers but we did get to some light munch food later in the night.
Truffle Butter & Parmesan Cheese Popcorn ~ http://www.yelp.com/bi... These babies were freaking addictive. Once I put some in my mouth my hands were programed to keep going back for more! Seriously its got truffles and parmesan how can you pass that up!
Pale Ale Battered Onion Rings ~ http://www.yelp.com/bi... These oniong rings were huge. Fried up very nicely and was served with a mustard seed sauce.
This was good but you definitely needed a knife and fork to eat.
Olived and Almonds ~ http://www.yelp.com/bi... I love almonds and these were oven roasted with some herbs. It had a great crunch and went really well with the beer. The olives were stuffed with cheese and fried up. Never had olives this way but it was good.
I wish I remembered the name of the beer I was drinking as it was really tasty. They do have a great selection of beer here so you if you like beer you definitely come here. For those who have heard of the Noble Experiment it is room within the neighborhood. You must make reservations though as this place gets packed.
Eyes ~ Theres a lot of beers here!
Nose ~ Kinda hoppy LOL!
Mouth ~ I want more truffled popcorn!

Mixed feelings, some stuff was good some stuff sucked.
Pasilla Steak Frites tasted horrible. The steak was undercooked, it looked like they boiled the steak instead of grilling it. On the photo it looks like a good idea, but it tasted more like fries with a bunch of random crap thrown into it. None of the flavors worked together.
They do not serve ketchup or ranch because they claim that their sauces are better. I would have to disagree. I wouldn't have even asked for ranch if the Pasilla Steak Frites didn't taste like garbage. And if you didn't read the entire menu and ask for ketchup or ranch they get all offended and snobbish. Like if they are superior to everyone for not eating ketchup lol. Their own sauces do taste home made, but they weren't all that great...
The burger patties, sauces and toppings for the burgers did work together good however. If it wasn't for that I would have given this place a lower rating. But the burger buns sucked. The bread was stale and crumbly, it tasted like old dry bread that was made yesterday. And along with your burger, they bring you like 3 of the most tasteless potato chips lol. No joke...
Apparently they have a good beer selection, they had a whole page for beers. So it sounds like a good place to try if your into beer. I would skip the food. -

I ate the 777 burger after a night of burger challenges. I feel confident in stating that this is the best burger in downtown. It blew every other burger out of the water. Perfectly cooked, completely delicious. I could say this even after cramming several other burgers in my stomach.
I've tried the beet burger as well. The texture is playdoh-esque and lightly fried on the outside. Tasty and filling. I applaud Neighborhood on thinking outside of the (burger) box!1 Previous Review: Show all »

Splendid!
Sadly, I can't comment quite yet on the food, but look forward to doing so soon.
As for the drinks - excellent beer list, both on draught and bottles. Decent wine list, with the typical 100% markup. Adore the indoor/outdoor tables that allow you to stay relatively warm on a chilly evening, but still enjoy the SD outdoors and East Village people watching. Yes, service is a bit slow, though was just fine for us who's primary goal was to drink good beer and socialize with great friends. Good mix of people seem to be attracted to this place.
Warning - if you are trying to be "good" and not order their fabulous-looking burgers and fries, do NOT sit at the table next to the kitchen! The smells will make a fasting vegan order 3 with bacon without a hint of guilt :-) -

My first bite out of the 777 Burger had me shouting "ep-ic". The juices burst out of the medium rare beef patty and then you're hit with an acidic/sour flavor from the plum tomato confit which heightens the overall burger. The bun was crispy. The garlic aioli for the fries was top notch.
I do have to say the bar service was extremely slow. The bartender might have been new. -

As a family get away to San Diego, we stayed at a hotel close by. I am in a wheelchair but this place was close enough that we all walked over to this restaurant. Judging from the pictures and some of the reviews, we decided to try it.
I will preface everything by saying don't listen to the negative reviews. This place was absolutely amazing. The decor, the service, the location, the people. Absolutely no complaints.
We took the suggestions, the fries. OMG. Then we got burgers, tacos, and mini hotdogs. It is very rare that you go to a restaurant and love everyone's plate. When I say love, I mean, we were IN LOVE with the food.
Please. GO!! You won't be disappointed. -

Thought I'd update my review given a couple things have changed since my last visit a few months ago!
I'm still in love. I'm MORE in love! Yes, they've thought of a way to make the oh so buttery 777 burger even more delectable. So the meat patty at Neighborhood used to be of average size, nothing compared to the ginormous patty over at Craft & Commerce. That's changed. The meat in the burger I got last night was much thicker than it had always been before at Neighborhood--what a pleasant surprise :) Still veryveryvery juicy, cooked exactly to perfection, medium rare, even though the kitchen was backed up because one of the chefs cut themself (boo).
Another thing that changed was the bun. It's no longer ciabatta, but it's like a CROISSANT! I didn't know croissants came in bun form... anywho I don't know if that's a permanent change or if they ran out of ciabatta for the night but I welcomed the new friend.
These updates make it even harder to choose between C&C and NH now. Still, I miss the waffle-cut potato chips they used to have here. Bring them back! They tasted better than these pub style chips. Neighborhood's still got better beer though :)Listed in: Beer is Food., Best Burgers Ever.

This place is legit. That's it, the end.
No but seriously, you should try this place out. I'm not a huge beer person but we went for my husband's birthday and he loved it. As for the food- that was memorable! I got the Red & Gold Beet Salad which was delicious- you can bet that there wasn't a lick of anything left on that plate. I also tried the Spicy Cajun Rubbed Burger which was also fantastic-o. Both of their reg fries (they serve them skinny here) and sweet potato fries were up to par as well as their onion rings which were HUGE. They do not play around with giving you tiny onion pieces- their rings are literally the king of all onion rings. Oh, and don't be shy to dip everything in any of their sauces. Tasty-to the max, you can't go wrong. (Just remember, they do NOT have ketchup here, so
don't even try and insult them with that question).
My only qualm about this place was that the service was a little slow and they don't take reservations. (Make sure you put your name on that chalk board so you don't lose your spot by standing there like a noob.) We had late reservations for Nobel Experiment and I was worried that we wouldn't be able to make them but the server told me that she'd tell the kitchen to try to get out food out asap. And I have to admit, I think the staff really did try to help us out in that sense. So thumbs up for that. -

***Warning to those with good allergies***. We were excited to eat dinner here, but it didn't work out and we were both disappointed. My wife has a nut allergy and we were told that there is nothing that she can eat, because there might be cross contamination. Outside of a "strictly desert restaurant", we have not experienced this before. Usually the chef will let us know what is safe and what isn't, but as I said there was nothing we could eat. we both ended up drinking a couple of beers because the beer list was great, but we were disappointed that we couldn't eat here.

Neighborhood offers a decent selection of beers on tap. We had a group meet up here prior hanging out, which to the least was pretty packed. At our table, not the least comfortable, but eye appealing with the art layered through the establishment.
Okay, am I the only one that is drawn to seeing Jesus biting into a hamburger? I know they have decent burgers here, but I only helped myself with a few dark beers to get my buzz on. One ordered the garlic popcorn as an appetizer. It served out of an old fashioned bag split open on a serving platter. Pretty cool touch.
Depending on what time you arrive here, can be a hit or miss. I know that it was still early, but the size of the crowd here made me feel a little uncomfortable. I dunno, that is just me when I am hanging at the 'hood. I'll have another beer please!
The fat: A great meetup place for your social gathering.
The skinny: Prime location to meet up on a corner, but parking is scarce. -

After hearing so much hype from my co-workers, I decided to check out this place last Saturday night. Came here for a late meal around 10pm, and the wait was not bad at all. I was glad to see my Mission Hefeweizen on their beer menu, and I had their braised beef ribs with jalapeno mac n' cheese. It was delicious! My boyfriend had their house burger and it was really juicy and flavorful. My only complaint is their soggy fries?! I ordered the sweet potato fries and my boyfriend's dish came with regular fries, and they were both soggy and flimsy. I just like mine crispy. They don't believe in ketchup, and my best bet is that they're somewhat associated with Craft n' Commerce. So if you don't like the wait for Craft n' Commerce and a better selection of beer, come here instead.

The neighborhood burger and sweet potato fries were excellent! I'm still full from eating that for lunch a few hours ago. The place is kinda small and surprisingly busy at 2:30pm. They have this cute window seating area where you can people watch while you eat. Overall, a nice experience...but the service was kind of slow. They didn't refill my friend's water (which had a slice of cucumber in it) until about 10 minutes later, even after asking for more water and took a while to pick up our credit cards...

So with all these rave reviews, my buddies and I had to check this place out. It definitely did not disappoint! It's pretty cozy...probably like 40 ppl max. But early evening, midweek, it wasn't too crowded.
As we sat down, we opted for an appetizer with beer. I got the Belgian sampler, which included 4 beers selected by our waitress: 1. Duchesse, 2. Chimay cinq cent, 3. Delirium tremens, 4. Allagash curieux. About $10. Wasn't a fan of the Duchesse, but the rest of the selection was spot on...love me some Belgian beers! We also ordered the jalapeno mac and cheese as an appetizer. It was OK. Probably wouldn't order that one again.
As for the burgers, I had the Neighborhood Burger topped with caramelized onions, blue cheese, and some greens, nestled in a lightly toasted roll. You have the choice of choosing between a salad, sweet potato fries, or garlic fries. The burger was juicy and flavorful. Sorta reminded me of Father's Office. But the toppings were pretty meager, wish they were more generous with their greens and cheese. My friend had the 777 burger. Unfortunately, it was a bit too salty. He definitely thought my burger was the better choice.
Overall, it was a good experience. The service was just the right amount of attentive. They also apparently have a speakeasy cocktail lounge for those in the know. Wink wink :) -

Came here with a friend and absolutely loved it.
The atmosphere is a little trendy for my taste, but everything from the cucumber water, delicious mouthwatering burger, beer, and service made it an awesome outing. The ambience definitely makes for a good date spot.
The restaurant is super close to the convention center, gaslamp, and a walk away to many other DT attractions, so maybe after your bite to eat a stroll down the block could be fun. -

Solid four stars. Came here for lunch with two friends on a weekend trip to San Diego. Cool place inside and the staff was friendly. They have a good selection of beer and the food was really good. I had the fresh albacore tuna sandwich and it was probably the best tuna sandwich I have ever had. Cooked perfectly rare. They also have Craftsman 1903 on tap, which is even better. Beware, no Ketchup.

Come on SD, I'm a little disappointed if this is one of the better burger joints. Parking is an absolute nightmare if you come later in the evening on a friday or saturday night.
The place started off terribly when we wrote our names down on the board, parked our car, came back, only to find that our names were erased. Ugh. So we talked to the manager and she seated us outside in the cold. We were told she would move us inside once a table opened up, but we spent the entire dinner outside.
I had their 777 burger and I've definitely have had better. Yes it is unique, I give you that much, but nothing the write home about.
All in all, a bad experience in terms of service and food.
I'll try other places before I come back here again.
