A Negative Space with a Positive review?

On this particular night we were searching for something new.
We found this place, which I've wanted to try for quite sometime.

The name, yes it is a topic of contention, especially after seeing the menu, the decor and trying the food.

We weren't sure what to expect and didn't know exactly what to order.

    Steamed egg was ok.,
Mango Tobiko Salad, I did like. 4 stars, but easily doable at home.  It did give me a good idea though.
Shrimp balls, deep fried, basic, nothing special
    Spicy Jelly fish. good.

I would have to say the dishes most likely didn't represent their specialty and we should have asked what was good on the menu, or better yet, what was recommended.

It did look like they had some nifty dishes and what we thought would be unique, unfortunately ended up just being like any other place.  So in this case, I'd give it a 3 stars.
Good good good.  A positive review for a Negative Space.

Came here on a whim after noticing it one day while I drove by.

To be honest, the location does kind of suck, which may explain the severe lack of customers, even on a Friday night.  If I hadn't taken a wrong turn that day, I would never have known the place existed.

Parking is ample, thanks to the restaurant being part of a Chinese mall with a large internal parking lot.

Service was friendly, though I am sure they are just dying for customers.  No complaints at all.

The XO fried rice wasn't bad, but it wasn't anywhere near spicy enough.

The beef with choy root (what's a choy?)  also wasn't bad.  But with that said, it wasn't anything special either.

I wouldn't mind coming back, but to be honest, it's nowhere near the top of my list.
